The elevator trick used to work, but it wasn’t the close button. U had to hit the emergency stop button and then your floor. The emergency stop button at my old work used to cancel all other requests, infact the up / down button light would silently go out for anyone waiting to enter the lift at other floors. The emergency stop button didn’t ring any bell or call anyone. The other staff used to get so angry as they pushed the button to call for the lift, but the elevator never comes, and eventually they notice the call button isn’t lit up anymore.
Even though the experement didnt work it was still a very neat old elevator probably installed in the 30s or 20s and those old touch sensitive buttons are very epic
only works if you have a single push button collective system with a relay logic controller. if you hold the floor button down just before it slows down to answer a call, the controller will drop whatever call it's answering when it slows down near that floor, then speed up and answer the next call. doesn't always work, but with the right setup it will work most of the time. too many modern elevators and controllers out there for it to be working everywhere. source: elevator tech for 20 years
This trick only works when you select the floor you want to go on. I tried it on an elevator at the hotel I was at and it skipped all the floors and brought me to my floor and the main lobby floor.
And that trick would have probably been hard to pull off because those floor buttons are not push buttons like the door buttons those are touch sensitive
Classic Otis elevator with a 68-50 mechanical selector... no button combination will cause a mechanical selector to skip floors. Whether there is some version of a modern computerized controller that will do this I have no idea.
Whoever filmed this didn’t pay attention to the video and now they seem stupid. You press and hold the button at the same time and wait until you get to your floor. Then let go
She did it wrong 🤦♀️ it doesn’t work if you press the buttons that you DONT want to go on INSIDE the elevator supposedly the person must press the button on that floor itself while you alone are inside the elevator hold the close door button and floor that you want to go on in order to skip the floor that the person is waiting on.
This elevator is too old for this trick to work. This generally works on newer electronic elevators and not old relay controlled ones like this. This elevator DOES however have a very rare type of Otis elevator fixture... Touch Sensitive!
I'd say no. No trick works. Pushing button twice is another I heard. Failed. Just tried this trick this morning. Couldn't even get to 7 seconds. It stopped on like 5 other floors before making it down to ground level. I tried holding down both buttons every time.(didn't help everyone who got on wanted to go to some other floor than the ground level and there are only two working at any given time. One or both are prone to breaking down, so there ends up only one sometimes..) Nothing seems to work on the elevators in my high rise. :( I live on one of the top floors and everyone wants to get on at the same time I get on. I feel anti social. Maybe I am. I just want a quiet ride all by myself with no stops in between my floor and the floor I am going to. I may just take the stairs......exhausting going up like 13+ flights but at least I'll get in shape.

I just keep both buttons held for my whole trip if im on a crowded elevator lift
This only works on some elevators. It definitely doesn't work on mechanical elevators.
And that trick would have probably been hard to pull off because those floor buttons are not push buttons like the door buttons those are touch sensitive
she already pressed 12 thats why it doesnt work you press them both at the same time no click it and then do the trick
You supposed to hold your floor number and hold close button until you get to your floor
I was talking to lift technician and he did say to me that it doesn’t work
You need to hold them down the whole time!
This is a vintage Otis elevator. What building is this elevator located in?

How do you know?
It's supposed to skip the floors where people are waiting
You are doing it wrong you are supposed to hit a floor and hit the floor above it and then hold door close and the floor above
YAY OTIS !!
thyssencar 95 Schindler door close buttons are just placebos 95% of the time
I think you need to know how to do it properly as it does work
It's not skipping people's numbers its ppl waiting on the other floors
