@@anderslarsson7426 Apparently the people on this channel don't understand what the idea of privilege is about and think that things you earn through hard work count as privilege. Thus, I descended from people in houses (which is known to improve academics for example) while some of them did not even though their grandparents fought in the same war.

@@wizzerwiser2056Doesn't he support Israel, who killed thousands of Palestinian children in the last few months?
They got bored of a washed up unimportant media figure from a sitcom 30 years ago talking to them about shit he knows nothing about
@@wizzerwiser2056 BBC - "Seinfeld has been a vocal supporter of Israel since the 7 October Hamas attacks and throughout the course of the war in Gaza. Many of the students at the ceremony stayed to listen to his speech, with several chanting words of support."
That's why - he's cheering on a genocide.
OMG that's an amazing speech. Seinfeld is a legend
Love the Rubin Report. Thanks for posting this. One of the best commencement addresses ever! ❤ Now let’s say goodbye to DEI.
you do you! there is no “us”
I prefer to call it diversity inclusion and equity. Or, more simply, D.I.E., as that seems to encapsulate the end goal of these people.
you don't even know what 'DEI' means. you clearly misunderstood the speech
He is sooo right. When our generations of builders and hardworking individuals are gone, so will their experience and knowledge. The new generation of these people are not being taught how to build a house, they are taught how to put it together from an instruction manual with pre-built parts!
We still build houses you caveman
You make it sound like building a house is a super hard thing. Humanity mastered it 4000 years ago.
@@MrBrock314 as if prefab isn't good for construction also. We still learn thr old ways usually too.
"Thanks. What a crowd"
Jerry is AWESOME 😂❤
If this upsets them just wait until they see how the real world hits them.
Sooo on point!
Love Jerry Seinfeld even more now - what a fabulous message!
Privilege is EARNED.
Not given because you complained about it.
You confuse privilege with respect. You can be born into privilege just by the lucky draw of your birth parents. You did not 'earn" that specifically. Respect on the other hand... But I understand what you mean in your 2nd line.
100%
@@Rustie_za your talking about one single aspect or type of privilege. I'm talking about earned privilege. I was not confused. Just a little vague and heated😔 Respect is also earned, yes. But it can also come from a privileged position like you said. If you where born into a wealthy family that is your luck. But it WAS earned by someone in your family and you benefit. Your benefit does not degrade the earned privilege. It validates it! Well, that's what I think anyhow.
I'm embarrassed by all the so-called "students" who walked out of their own commencement. So sad - kids today are so sensitive and they believe their protests make a difference. The only thing they're doing is diluting / harming their own chances of solid employment. I'm a business owner - the younger adults that work at my company are realists, bright, thoughtful, caring and understand the value of hard work and persistency. These kids are just that - KIDS. They spent four years of perhaps their parents' money, of their own money and high school efforts which resulted in scholarships... yet they walk out on their own efforts?!
Seinfeld is SPOT ON when he said: "My point is we're embarrassed about things we should be proud of and proud of things we should be embarrassed about."
So you want realists who don't care about genocide? Your business sounds great..... /sarcasm.
LOVE Jerry Seinfeld, thank you for telling it like it is!!
For many of us Seinfeld was a regular part of our lives for years. You'd watch his show on Wednesday night and then go out and laugh about it with your friends over a drink, friends that were a lot like the cast. It was very relatable at a time when you weren't afraid to speak your mind. I'm glad to see Jerry getting the respect he deserves from the vast majority in attendance. The malcontents can go to hell!!!
I remember it being on Thursday night, but I looked it up, and the early seasons were on Wednesday night.
Yeah, but Larry David has gone over the the Dark Side.
@@FlintIronstag23 You are correct! It changed to Thursday.
@@nuqwestr Larry David is an A-hole!
Yeah I used to set my vcr to record Seinfeld, friends and Frazier on Thursdays because I was young and always out at the bars on thirsty Thursdays. I wish my twenty something kids could experience the kind of real freedom and joy we had back then. We worked hard, but we laughed all the time and were allowed to really enjoy life to the fullest. And funny enough there was no mental health crisis in kids or our young adults back then. I didn’t know a single person in their twenties, like I was, that had anxiety or any other affliction.
Thank you, Jerry!
