Cheryl, Thuy is a great teacher - you can follow her instructions easily. While this is not the usual way to install a zipper, Thuy has made it very simple. Give it a go - maybe you’ll surprise yourself!! Good luck!

I love to use scraps. however ,the glue backing is not very healthy for our skin etc.I would like to know other ways to sew them together without frayed edges as well.

Why do you have to see it on a piece of cloth?? Can't you just see them together and then cut down??
I'll jump in and say that by sewing it on the other cloth, it stabilizes it. But also, at the first... she states on the screen it is adhesive batting, so it gives the bag "body" and makes it stand up and not be "floppy".
