I need to fix all my ps3s i have like 8, you should watch RIP feilx's video on the topic on how to read syscon codes
Thank you for the tip! I wanna be able to fix it completely again
its yellow light of death is nec token caps under the CPU
No. Not always. The 90nm RSX suffered from bump gate failure. The Syscon should be read to determine the actual fault.
probably dead gpu or nec tokins
satisfying
Ur videos are good quality. I found you from the windows 11 video. Subbed. Keep it up man!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it a lot!
but u didnt do everything to fix it u just whip it a lil lol bro ...lol you win some you dont what did u do u didnt even try to win
From what I was reading I thought that maybe replacing the thermal paste would’ve fixed it up. Didn’t end up but it was still good to clean it up and practice taking apart a console which I’ve never done before! So I find that a win 😁
I had a backwards compatible PS3 myself not long ago but I had to trade it away cause idk how to fix it
That’s what I was thinking of doing for a long time too.
@GregBaloney it possibly needs a power supply easy ahh replacement if that's the case I done it for my father's ps3 which I grew up with and also ended up needing to replace the blu-ray disc drive.
you need too change the compasator tokens bro . go on youtube deep dive on this
Nope. YLOD simply indicates a general hardware failure, but to check the specific problem you should read the Syscon error log. Most of the times the problem relies in the 90nm RSX, which needs to be changed to a newer 40NM one from a PS3 slim, and also voltage regulations need to be done. RiP-Felix explains the problem very well.
