So for this video I decided to get a job at deliveroo and try work there for a week. It didn't exactly go to plan but I didn't fail. Hope you guys enjoyed this challenge, give me some suggestions of other things I could do for a week!

This is actually pretty inspiring...You're saying, doing and showing real sh*t. It's refreshing to see some genuine content about things that normal people do get an insight to everyday life. You're good at explaining the little things too which we can all relate to - problems, thoughts etc stuff that people don't know what to do about like when someone doesn't answer the phone or security tell you to wait outside...It's like we're learning with you through your perspective and experience. £13 an hour is not too bad. I don't like the exploitative aspects of Deliveroo. The cyclists are risking their lives riding badly around London and they will get nothing if they are injured while working.

They make them Self employed though so they have to pay there own tax an fill in a tax return at the end of the tax year an all that
£13 an hour isn’t bad, but it isn’t good either... as said in the comment section.. it’s not for everyone... it does get easier overtime though...
Here, Ben Morris only took into account the « delivery » aspect. But behind, there’s all sorts of things, like : taxes, bike repairs, dealing with thieves, fines, the weather, the waiting, annoying people/drivers, accidents.
A good day is around £145.
A bad day is around £50.
An average day is around £90.
A day is from 11 to 14... and from 17 to 23.
Julien D-v But this is in busy London. If I did deliveroo in my home town I probably would average three deliveries a week ngl. I applied once, but you have to have your own bike, take lots of online tests, go in store for more tests and an interview ect. when all you're doing is cycling from resturants to homes, which didn't seem worth it for me. Thinking it of an ideal job because you get to exercise for money is a bad idea, orders aren't guaranteed, it's awkward hours that wouldn't allow you to work shift jobs, there's no one to go to if you have a concern or issue, it's dangerous ect.
£13 an hour in London is awful! You get that working in Tesco’s

@@bishplis7226 Have you done it ? I highly disagree with you. Deliveroo is far from perfect but the bad shit they get is not really deserved. I've been working 2 years for Deliveroo an average of 15-20 hours a week, if you know what you're doing it's not so hard to manage at least 3deliveries per hour average, which adapted to what I saw that guy in the vid got paid, would make about £15/hour. It is a great student or temporary job. With that being said, I wouldnt recommend making it permanent.

I use Deliveroo and Ubereats all the time because I'm lazy and can't cook for shit. I always end up tipping the drivers even if it's only a quid, as the vast majority of them seem really chill. After watching this I have even more respect for what they do. 👍

I live in Australia where Deliveroo and Uber is popping. People make like $100s per day but they do lunch and dinner. I think if you did dinner time as well it would've been much, much different
Jobs pay more in the land of Australia, but costs of things and cost of living can be much higher.

That got me triggered when he said that. I've seen so many crashes because of this and nearly been run over by bikes too! Light goes red usually so pedestrians can cross the street, not so cyclists can just zoom past.
The max fine for riding on a pedestrian way is 500GBP that includes road crossings, that could take a lot out of earnings. I never stop for cyclists sitting on their bikes at road crossings they have to wait for some dumb motorist or for a pedestrian to join them.
Last two days I visited London, I saw two accidents involving cyclists crossing junctions. One looked very serious indeed. Take care out there...

I was right in the first place
As a previous rider with UberEats/Deliveroo etc. I can say the only way making money with this is making it with more hours and get one of those electric bikes that will get you faster to places and more order. Since I did it with just a old normal bike 🚴 and believe me it’s just not worth it. I’ve made the most ever £98 a week but that was doing more hours. Although it’s a great way of exercise 😅. Stay safe out there

Take into account you’re getting fit and also you’re not having to put up with office gossip and the every day toxic environment of the workplace of your 9 to 5 with Uber Eats you’re pretty much your own boss settings your own hours doing your own thing at your own leisure...

Did you receive any tips from your customers? Even though tipping isn't customary in England, I would suggest that the customers who made you wait to complete a delivery might consider that their delay was preventing you from taking other jobs.
It would seem those best suited for this work are those training for the Tour de France.
Costumers in UK are stingy overall! From the other hand these companies hiring riders as self employed, but giving a dodgy contrast at the same time. Means the rider can be terminated any time for fabricated reason. Many riders don’t even make the National minimum wage, because they are “self employed”, and since they getting paid per drop, some times there’s isn’t enough job especially during summer time! And a disgrace that the government giving free hand for these companies, while riders who fed the nation during pandemic got zero rights!!!

I was keen to find out what a food delivery job consists of and your video was so informative. I wasn't sure how the app worked etc. I see the delivery guys at restaurants and wasn't sure whether they just congregated and waited for jobs or whether they had allocated jobs. You have answered all of my questions.
