Trying again a month after shows some real dedication. It's also great that you showed the reality of traveling with the initial 4 closures.
I couldn’t give up

We should be thankful that Xi Jinping didn't stick to the zero-COVID policy all the way from 2020 until now. If he'd kept on building virus quarantine zones, China would look like Jerusalem by now, with makeshift isolation sites everywhere. Let's give thanks to Xi Jinping for restoring people's freedom.

You've been subscribed. I'm from BILIBILI in China. Many bloggers have shared your videos and your story. Your experience has moved us from laughter to admiration and then to praise. You have the courage and perseverance. Everyone left comments, praising your tenacity and the spirit of exploring without hesitation. I myself am a person with acrophobia. I simply dare not go to high places. I involuntarily feel weak and nervous. I admire you.
This is really cool to read! Thank you for sharing

@@benmorrisyou overcome yourself 🎉
This is genuinely my favourite video of yours that I've ever watched. Your determination to complete it was incredible. I have a crippling fear of flying but I'm forcing myself onto a plane so I can see more of the world. This video was more inspiring than anything I've read or watched up until now.
Huge respect. That was no joke. Just the dedication to keep trying was one thing, but actually doing something you were that afraid of is a big deal. No lie, I kinda wanna do it lol

Fifty years ago, there was no protection installed, and people walked the same way, without ropes, but also for fun

I come from Bilibili, and everyone admires your perseverance. I am here to comment on you specifically. Whatever you do, you will succeed. Keep up the good work, you are so amazing!!!
OMGGG! Thought its just another foreigner recording their fearless completion of the infamous plank walk😂 you have such amazing determination and courage to finish this challenge. Huge respect from someone also afraid of heights and as a Chinese, your vlog is amazing and you got a new sub. Locals in the video like taking pics of you or with you because it’s still kinda rare for them to interact with foreigners even though the country is opening up. Look forward to more fun challenges from you.

I also tried this plank walk 7 years ago, because my fear of height. The day before I went on the mountain was snowy and the roads were slippery. The plank walk was not open until at 2pm, when the staff cleaned all the water and snow on the plank. The weather was just like what you showed in the video, overcast with the sunlight, snow on the mountains, this is quite stunning.
It is said that Huashan at the end of the last century to the beginning of this century, there is no lock this security measure. I heard that in the early years of this project, many people died every year, and then installed a lock, and now, this long air walkway has installed two safety locks. There is another dangerous attraction on Huashan Mountain, called Foal Zi Turning over, which is said to look safer than the Long Air Trestle Road on the outside, but the actual experience is much scarier than the Long Air Trestle Road
Man, I’ve been watching your channel for so long now, and every time I watch your videos, my dumb ass thinks I can make videos like you It sometimes motivates me, but then I see your dedication and realize just how much effort goes into it honestly, Iam glad I hit that subscribe button way back
Thanks man! Appreciate that
Bro your video is all over Bilibili, people have been cherring you up, and they all respect your courage and determination. It is so inspiring bro!
Honestly it was for the best that it didnt work out the other times when it closed and rained. Seeing that ladder, plank, and rock showed how easily you can slip. Good job for conquering your fears tho! You had a better view this time around too.
Also yes, alot of small cities dont usually see foreigners so they were probably excited to see someone new. They mightve thought youre a celebrity!
Amazing climb, Ben!! My knees were trembling just watching the video! Climbing that height, holding camera AND having your passport in your back pocket... 😱
I admire your perseverence, Ben. Bagus!! 👍😊
And Jamie sure did impress the locals in speaking Mandarin 🤓💯
The casual shouting at you is so unhinged 😂 great job. You now have a new “ hardest thing” you’ve ever had!
This is real dedication. Gotta give it to you, Ben! My knees are shaking just watching this. Well done!
I've been struggling to watch back the clips too 🤣 editing this was a struggle
@@benmorris I could imagine 🤣
the worker absolutely decking you any chance he could get away with is so funny 🤭Congrats 🎉
Ben, I admire your determination. You've actually gone to Huashan five times. Even if I went five times, I probably wouldn't try that cliff. It's terrifying.
17:34 the taxi driver eavesdropping with his translation app is hilarious
The taking pictures / staring culture is intense in China. I was once there with my brother (both caucausian), who is in an electrical wheelchair. One guy stared so hard at my brother he ran into a wall... It's really weird to experience as a foreigner.
Amazing video Ben!
Most insane and scary part of the plank walk was having ur passport in ur back pocket
You guys' determination is truly impressive! So glad you made it finally!❤😂
Grate video Ben! Appreciate the effort. Btw, local Chinese want to take a picture with you because there aren’t many foreigners there. To them, you’re like a person walking out of the TV- they think you’re photogenic and easy to the eye ❤ that’s why
Glad you enjoyed it Dan & that makes a lot of sense!! I didn’t mind it, just found it strange but funny hahaha
Yeah, they do this with every foreigner, not just with Ben (so don't flatter yourself too much! 😜😜)
Although my anxiety levels are skyrocketing after watching this video, I salute you for your persistence and courage. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Real respect for you trying 5 times climbing this mountain Ben
Ben, I’m watching this video of yours from the comfort of my couch on the telly, and when you showed the view at 27:12 I nearly fell off the couch 😅. The height gave me such a visceral reaction I genuinely thought I was falling myself! Idk how you did this… or honestly WHY you did this (I hate heights and would have been out at the cable car stage) 😂, but good on you for doing it after the 5th attempt lol. My hands were sweating just watching this I cannot comprehend how this was even made or how the guy was just chilling hanging off the side of the mountain. Madness.
Love your videos tho ! And I’d recommend Las Fallas in Valencia for a video idea as something you can do that’s more sea level 😂
Incredible video and dedication to commit to trying to conquer a fear. I love your channel it has shown me many places I want to see first hand in my life.
I'd have given up after a couple of tries, so hats off to you on being so persistent.
Those views are to die for, but damn, that's scary AF!
When it is meant to be, it happens. What a video Ben, loved it.
safe trip! That's how the mother nature is being respectful to hikers. Well done bros, weather does matter.
Bro, this is the most ridiculous TH-cam video I have ever seen!!! Utterly amazing, and blended well with your UK sense of humor. You deserve an award for this video. Hilarious that 5th time was the charm for you. I must share this video with others. Bravo!!
I am really sweating holding my computer mouse, attempting to fast forward but I didn't! This is insane. I am glad you live to tell the story.
Mate the quality of your content just gets better and better every time you post. Thanks for making this excellent content for us all to enjoy, inspiring to say the least.
chinese people take photos of you and with you because they rarely see foreigners in china (especially in smaller cities) so they want to capture the moment! the dedication of wanting to climb the prank amazing!
It's really strange hahaha makes me feel like a celeb
@@benmorris
You should feel like a celeb, because even though I am from Indonesia, but since I am of Chinese descent, no one asked to take a photo with me when I visited China a few years ago. 😂😂😂
Asians are very attracted to people who look different from them.
@@benmorrisThere is another reason why you are so handsome.😂
外国人少见,外国帅哥就更少见了
From one creator to another: I’d prefer to just go and get a job Ben than do this walk 😂
I just paused the video to express my admiration at your conviction to see through the mission. You did it!
I think this is the earliest I’ve been to a video and I’m glad it’s a Ben Morris video
Let’s goooo
The passport lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but kuddo's to you Ben, that was a very brave thing you did!
Well done Ben. I'm so glad you didn't slip because that safety equipment wouldn't have saved you. All carabinas should close and you should have two life lines so you're never detached from the safety wires. Wow honestly mate balls of steel.
The carabiner is specially made for all plank walking at Chinese tourist attractions, including those at Tianmenshan.
The new carabiner has a gap that the steel cable cannot pass through, making it impossible to detach from the steel cable. This gap is needed to pass through the points where the cable is nailed to the cliff and to pass other people's carabiners from the opposite direction.
They used to use two regular carabiners with clips that could be opened and closed and detached from the steel cable, but many tourists, because they did not understand the safety concept, removed both carabiners at the same time, so it was no longer considered safe.
Lol it is very safe. I'll let my 12 year old son do this. It is only not safe when you are an idiot. IQ below 80 should not come.
Brooo you are a f***ing legend to do this, I had a tough day but seeing you try so many times and then actually do it at the end, it was crazy.
I 100% sault for your bravery, you even climb 4 times just for this hike. I have never been there even as a Chinese, but after seeing your video, I think I should try it even once before I die.
I appreciate how you’re facing your fears even it’s uncomfortable ❤
Well done mate, you showed great persistence. A great personal achievement.
I saw this video on TikTok and so impressed by what you’ve done! So I find your account here and just want to send my like ❤
Hey, dude. I'm a guy from Chongqing, China. I came here just to tell you that, I'm pretty much freaked-out simply by watching this video. You are amazing.
this ur best video 🙏
🥲🙏🏼
Real dedication brother. I did it many many years ago and it was so sick. One of the coolest things ever
For the dedication and such achievement to face your fear. I admire you so much! Will subscribe just for showing us this experience
This is crazy! Glad you finally made it. That's some serious dedication. Good on you, Ben! ❤
I had to finish what I started 🫡
All I can watch is you at moment, amazing youtuber love to see you upload again 👍
I close my eyes to go to sleep and all I see is straight down. Thanks. I would be scared shitless too. You’re a good man, Charlie Brown.🙂
Maybe the Universe was trying to send a message for the first 4 times 😅
My palms started to sweat watching this, genuinely all my respect to you…
I also have acrophobia, and when I was climbing Mount Huashan, I kept telling myself that since I was here, I shouldn’t miss it. lol~
the best part of your video is ur persistency, damn you did a great job.
takes some serious balls and persistence to face your fear like that!
Did this in 2008. That initial descend was scary as you need to go face down. But after that it was ok. It is dangerous if you don't have harness ... but you have double harness. And I remember a couple of young girls were about to push me as I was too slow. Beautiful mountains all around you.
Moral of the story: don't leave what you want to do most to the last minute. Still I don't see what's so important about doing this hike that you absolutely have to do it.
Wow, takes guts to do that. I got scared watching and I’m sitting on my sofa at home. Crazy what the mind can convince you. 👏🏻
Amazed at your bravery . What a amazing person you are.
You CONQUERED that mountain LIKE A BOSS 💪
Awesome video Ben!! Absolute legend for the dedication

4 consecutive days to Hua shan. I admire your perseverance and determination 🎉🎉
I would be terrified of being that high with not much space to stand, but at the same time that view is crazy
You are really brave bro. I came to your ytb homepage from a Chinese video site to subscribe to you, because your bravery deserves a subscription. btw I am Chinese, I admire your courage!
Hi Ben, that was incredible, I don’t know how you managed to do that, especially after so many failed attempts, which should have told you not to do it. Very well done!
Bro, that was amazing! not weak at all. There's no way in hell I'd have the guts to do that. talk about stunning views. wow!
Facing your fears. This is awesome Ben!
OMFG 😂 you crazy!!! Great views though and you did amazing 😍 I'd have pooped myself lol. You certainly love a challenge! 😮
I feel your frustration!!! I would be so annoyed because you encountered EVERY freaking mishap. I don't know how you have a patience for it. Him denying you Alipay and making you go with a partner... I would have punched a wall. But now we know before we go, thanks for making this video for us.
just looking at the pictures... my legs are trembling...

Going back for the 5th time is already crazy. Good on you Ben!
I've walked on the glass plank road near my house before. It's still scary, as I can see the mountain below if I look down. But the one you went to is much more dangerous than the glass plank road I went to. Bro you are really awesome!
Fair play to you for doing this and still producing some great content! I think I'd have been too much of a nervous wreck to even talk properly 😅
It was so much worse for me than I thought 😭
Absolutely amazing! This is perseverance! 🤩🔥

i love how the guy spun him around and made him hit his head and dropped that thing and didn't care at all 😂
Great video Ben! I've been living in China for over 6 years and still haven't got the chance to visit Huashan, hoping to go someday soon. Btw 'shan' itself means mountain in Chinese so there's no need to say Mount Huashan, you can say Huashan or Mount Hua :)
Thanks Ashley!! How do you like living in China? I've loved my experiences so far and really want to go to Shanghai next & ahhh that makes so much sense - thanks for letting me know haha
