I just want to say that I really appreciate the effort to be transparent. I'd much rather a vlog/review channel get a sponsorship and be open about it than try to avoid it in the first place or be generally secretive.
Really appreciate the honesty Ollie re the brand deal. It's such a change being able to trust somebody on what they say rather then know they are being paid to say rubbish, keep up the great work 👍
i'm not a subscriber, just happened upon this video, but I must say how much i appreciate the transparency in mentioning your sponsor directly as well as why you are taking sponsorship
Hey Ollie. I really like how you make the financial part of the vlog so transparent. I appreciated that video about it before a lot. It's something that I think GCN got badly wrong. Out of the blue they started stating that videos were paid promotions which was a shock to me. I thought they had seen products and given an unbiased review and then I find out they were ads all along! At least you explained the money making side and it's not all a big advertisement.
I love my Scott Foil. Very underrated brand. Very comfortable, the combination aero stem/bars absorb a lot of shock from the front wheel. My only dissent is I don't feel like I'm going as fast as I'm going, and I've noticed other test riders make mention of that.
Still a traditionalist, but this is the first road bike I've seen where the disc brakes don't look like a bolted on after-thought. Yikes, am I wavering !?!? The bike's an absolute beast.
Here's my 2c worth. I test rode the 2021 Foil 30 with the upgraded carbon wheels today, 17km on flat bike path next to river. Nice performance and a well made and great feeling bike. I'm coming off a Specialized S-Works Tarmac so my comparison relates to this bike. Good points - it feels very stiff and solid and so quiet when you hit little changes in elevation of the concrete joins or up a ramp it feels SOLID. Disk brakes are great, they pull you up nice and quick. It had 28mm tires which is a great contact patch on the road for grip but may contribute to the slower acceleration I'm used to. My tarmac had 24mm, of course you can fit whatever is your preference. The default 120mm stem felt like too big a reach for me but the dealer was happy to swap the one piece bar/stem for a 90mm 2 piece. It also was quite susceptible to cross winds and I think the long stem may contribute to this, and could be helped by a shorter stem/bar combo. A very nice bike but not quite enough for me to flash the plastic. Cheers from Brisbane Australia. No lockdown here. 👍
Hello! Great Bike, really love it and I know you'll gonna have a lot fun with that machine. I would call it "The Absolute Beast" because it's the King among all the aero bikes out there and who wouldn't feel like a Beast riding that beauty...
You can tell Scott that their sponsorship works with me. I've been wanting to buy a Venge for 2 years and and I couldn't think of any other bike. But now, I'm hesitating a lot because of the Foil Disc. It's a matter of time before I make my decision and the Foil disc is tempting me a lot. The only issue for both bikes is that they are hard to get in Canada.
There's a Haute Route 3 day event happening in Norway, departing from Stavanger in mid august, I believe. The region is beautiful, I wish I had my bike when I went there. EDIT: It is from 3rd to 5th of August.
Hi Ollie, Great vid, and I do want to comment on your explanation of the sponsorship. Excellent way to present the sponsorship situation, honesty and integrity go a long way towards creating a trustful dialog with your viewers. I'm fairly certain Cycling Weekly spend a significant part of their budget to produce these very well done vids, and having sponsorship is an excellent way to help offset the cost to create a win win situation for all involved, including most of all the viewers. Thanks, enjoy that awesome bike, and do let us know your riding experience with it.
sooo jealous of your new steed, well all the other I've been jealous of anyways. For a name how about "Wally" as in William Wallace, a great Scot(t). keep up the good work, have been a cycling weekly reader for over 30 years and your Vlog has been without doubt the best thing the "comic" has ever done
that integrated thing with torque is awesome, makes me wish my bike had those thru axles. this is the definition of "superbike" to be the 100% perfect (but i'm really trying to find anything) i would have ALL the cables hidden.
Great vlog Ollie. Loving the new bike. I've had various Scott MTB and Road bikes in the past and this one is on my radar for sure. You have such a great job you lucky sod. 😉
I’d call it The Sabre. Both foil and sabre are types of fencing (along with épée, but that looks a bit too try hard), and sabre just makes me think of cutting through descents and slicing through headwinds on an aero bike
Wow this bike is such a treat on the eyes. How are you liking it so far?? Well you certainly couldn't hide your excitement in this video anyway. hah.. I really love this bike too, but can't afford the premium disc. I'm looking at the Scott Foil 20 which I think is just as beautiful. 3k gets the rim brake version and 3.5k for the disc. I'm seriously considering the rim brake version for it's aero qualities and I was very pleased to hear the Foil is the fastest aero you've tested, solidifies my decision to buy it just a little bit more. I too would most likely want the stem a little higher since I'm not racing with it just yet and so happy to hear the frame takes 28's!!
You mention installing a 32mm on the rear - if this foil can fit tires that wide I’m sold (have some bad tarmac and hard patched dirt connecting roads near me) In the video it looks like the front 28 doesn’t have much room to spare.
Very very nice bike..probably my current favourite alongside the orange Factor O2 disc.. Hopefully see you disappear off into the distance at the Fred Whitton, my second attempt! 👍🏻
My name suggestion: "Fomore" or "The Fomore". From the fomorians, supernatural beeings in Irish mythology. Super deadly guys, and like you said, the Foil does look like an absolute weapon. Fomore is also a combo of FOil and MORE, and with this machine you get more of everything - riding joy, comfort, speed, money and more! Fomore!
Happy new bike day. Cool bike, you should call it the "Dark Destroyer" looks as it could do a bit of damage, take no prisoners. 😂😂😂 Good luck and enjoy. Stephen from Irvine Ayrshire.
Scott foil is a fantastic bike, I run 28c conti's on mine too and the handling's great, super planted at high speeds have taken mine up to just shy of 60mph in the wet, if I'd had bigger gears I'd happily take it up higher but the same time it loves being muscled around and thrown into corners. It definitely fast all round too and have been enjoying robbing the local Pro's of many of their KOM'S since I bought it. Such fun lol
Excalibur could be a proper name? You say it is a complete weapon. (I can agree since it is packing those sharp discs. ) My guess is that it feels regal using that bike.
Come to Norway during the Haute Route 4-5 August Ollie! You'll be riding around where Alexander Kristoff and I live, it's a very nice part of Norway for road cyclists
Since Scott is sponsoring the vlog, the Foil is quite literally a blade for hire. Therefore your gorgeous new bike should be named Hawkwood, after Sir John Hawkwood, the famous mercenary captain.
The name is obvious, Scotty. Whenever you're going up a hill you have to shout "I've giv'n her all she's got captain, an' I canna give her no more" or when deep in the drops trying to churn out some watts: "Aye, the haggis is in the fire now for sure". When, you have used up your last spare tube and are down to quick patches, you have to say, "this jurry-riggin won't last long". Alternatively, you could call her the Enterprise and change your name to Scotty.
Hi ollie. Really enjoyed ur video on the most aerobike in the world. And bought a madone rsl2018. Turns out part 2 of the video foil is faster than madone. Here is the question. If i buy a foil 30 frame and put a syncros cockpit would it be as fast as ur gift from scott? except the
Ollie, would you recommend this bike as an 'all purpose', 'every day bike' ? I mean, could this be successful be used also as a climbing bike? I'm considering two frames at this moment: SWorks Tarmac SL6 and this one. What would you recommend?
My competition entry to name the new bike has to be Charlene in honour of Kylie Minogue to Jason Donovan’s Scott. Plus, it’s ridden by Michelton Scott, an Australian team. Everybody needs good Neighbours.
i would love to get this bike, top aerodynamics and good weight but it just looks terrible. I don't know if it is the slanted top tube or what but this foils are horrendous. Hard to beat the canyon aeroad look!
im a 16, soon to be 17 year old male, looking for a road bike to start cycling properly, so some advice would really be appreciated, does anybody know if the specialised allez would be a good bike?
I just want to say that I really appreciate the effort to be transparent. I'd much rather a vlog/review channel get a sponsorship and be open about it than try to avoid it in the first place or be generally secretive.
Helicase21 so true. If you aren't paying to watch a TH-cam channel how else you expect the video to be produced?
well said!
But gcn manage to achieve this with some dignity, this channel would sell their granny for the latest aero bike
Have you actually seen GCN?
Really appreciate the honesty Ollie re the brand deal. It's such a change being able to trust somebody on what they say rather then know they are being paid to say rubbish, keep up the great work 👍
Free Skier - they are obligated to disclose.
We would never have known he’s scrounged a free bike !
i'm not a subscriber, just happened upon this video, but I must say how much i appreciate the transparency in mentioning your sponsor directly as well as why you are taking sponsorship
I was thinking of getting this bike too but my budget is £109.99 not £10,999.00
It's Fastfitnesstips. Hi Fastfitnesstips.
Hi Richard.....no coincidence.....always watching Cycling Weekly YT...one of my fav channels!
hey Richard, how many watts do you lose with a steerer tube sticking out in the open??
maybe if you got a real job and stoped stealing data online and trying to sell it you could afford it!
Your channel rocks!
Hey Ollie. I really like how you make the financial part of the vlog so transparent. I appreciated that video about it before a lot. It's something that I think GCN got badly wrong. Gwenyth's character's name in Se7en was Tracy, so I go with Racy Tracy. Beautiful bike
Good on Cycling Weekly for being so up front about sponsorship. Not all cycling channels are.

Great looking bike, Ollie - I'll be there on the Fred Whitton so I'll try to say hi before you zoom off into the distance.

EDIT: It is from 3rd to 5th of August.
Arthur Maas I’m planning to do it! Flights booked 👍🏼
yaas! Can't wait to watch the vlog about it!
Oh well, now I'm jealous

Is this bike gone now? You had the other bikes Canyon Ultimate CF SLX and the Trek Madone Project One as well.
You seem to be riding a different bike on every show. I have the same one day in day out. What a luxury to ride so many bikes.
I’d call it The Sabre. Both foil and sabre are types of fencing (along with épée, but that looks a bit too try hard), and sabre just makes me think of cutting through descents and slicing through headwinds on an aero bike
See you at the Fred Ollie, that’s an absolute beast! If I see you I’ll say hi as I imagine you will disappear up the road quite quickly 😁
Ollie is giddy as a school boy with his new bike- congrats and super jealous

'Icarus' ... carrier of wings - and a thoughtful reminder to handle with care ; - ) ... enjoy the ride Ollie
You should call it Scott Speedman, he is an actor but also Speedman is just a perfect name for a bike
Love the new look of cycling weekly btw
I was thinking Norway, the 27 hairpins up from Lysebotn, epic. Nice bike, suites you.
front end looks awkwardly tall. They could have dropped the stem "into" the frame.
edgardo reyes
The more you integrate things on a bike, the harder it is to work on. That's why he stepped away from the Madone.

Congrats on your new steed Ollie, I'd call him Freddy, Freddy foil, rolls off the tongue and pays homage to your first big ride together!
Please do a review of the Scott Speedster 20, I'm migrating from MTB to Road, and I've been meaning to buy it, but just couldn't decide
This bike & the Eddy Merckx San Remo disc along with the Diamonback frames are all just the same the EM rockets forward
The foilvarine. XMen reference absolute weapon!
Happy new bike day.
Cool bike, you should call it the "Dark Destroyer" looks as it could do a bit of damage, take no prisoners. 😂😂😂

what size is this bike?
Looks like a large 56cm to me
Wow...fucking work of art. You are one lucky chap.
The Last King of Scottland. Super nice bike by the way!
Stiffy Gonzales, since the stiffness of the BB was the first thing you pointed at and the stiffness of the steerer tube was the last.
It's dark and it's killer fast - go with 'Black Mamba'!
(Alternatively, employ British restraint, and call it 'Scooter')
Excalibur could be a proper name? You say it is a complete weapon. (I can agree since it is packing those sharp discs. ) My guess is that it feels regal using that bike.
He is so giddy about his new bike! Awesome!
Come to Norway during the Haute Route 4-5 August Ollie! You'll be riding around where Alexander Kristoff and I live, it's a very nice part of Norway for road cyclists
Sweet bike. Thanks for being honest about the sponsorship deal. Beam me up Scotty
I just got this yesterday and i can’t wait to ride this weekends😍😍😍

Hi Ollie bike looks very slippery but have you done any testing with the Look 795 aero light?
Nice bike, love the disc brakes! Enjoy my friend!
Hi ollie. Really enjoyed ur video on the most aerobike in the world. And bought a madone rsl2018. Turns out part 2 of the video foil is faster than madone. Here is the question. If i buy a foil 30 frame and put a syncros cockpit would it be as fast as ur gift from scott? except the

Never seen you look so happy, nice ride. Means you need to train like a pro now. 😜
don't wanna be boring or anything but its gotta be Scott in it ;)
Nice....get some rides and do a comparison between this and the 3T strada and the Orro. Aero seems to be a real hot topic right now.
Bike Name: FrankSpencer, just for old times sake.
How does this bike compare to the Canyon Ultimate CF SL 8.0 disc aero bike? Trying to decide which to get?
Get the Dogma f12
Eric Marcus Specialized Venge also nice!
But If I had one choice, I would choose the Trek madone slr 9
Willy The windbreaker is in my opinion the most fearsome name your bike can get.
That’s one beautiful bike!
how do you manage to have steerer tube sticking out of integrated stem/handlebar??
Call it Dave. Everyone knows a Dave. It will also be quite funny that Strava will show you riding Dave when you upload.
I absolutely love the Scott Foil
Call it Dorsal as in the shark’s fin. The helmet isn’t my size. Nice ride.
I liked your lightweight climbing bike. How much does this bike weigh?
I'm assuming that's the Der-rig-ur of the Scott range ?
That’s a beautiful bike!
And very light!
But-costs are serious...
Bike name: “The Flying Scott Man” alternatively “Scott of the *insert name of ride location here*”
What a Machine! awesome awesome spec and a stunner too look at!!
Name Suggestions:
1) Hayman
2) Reynold (like the wrap)
3) Seven (poor Tracy...)
Awsome bike Ollie!
I think you should call it "Big Boss" ala metal gear solid becasue it looks mean & stealthy! plus I know you're a nerd like me.
Name for the bike - has to be "Doc" after Doc Emmett Brown from Back to the Future and of course his most famous catchphrase: "Great Scott!"
Rhythm is the name of my TCR. The name sounds pretty cool and that makes me fast!
Beautiful machine. But you should call it 'Aeroad' since so much of its geometry was originally designed by Canyon...
You can call it "The Black Panther" .Greetings from beautiful and warm Greece!
The Scott shall be called "Gunner"... Because it is an absolute WEAPON!!
Hoped to see tire clearance clearly front and rear.
Maybe next videos?
Aero-Haack (link to the sears-haack shape, my inner aerospace geek creeping in)
My competition entry to name the new bike has to be Charlene in honour of Kylie Minogue to Jason Donovan’s Scott. Plus, it’s ridden by Michelton Scott, an Australian team. Everybody needs good Neighbours.
What size is it pls? Thinking about it but the 20 version 😂
I think "Speed Reaper" suits the Scott well!
How about a give away.........☺
It would be compatible to non electronic groupset just hydraulics?
Fast looking bike. Gotta name her "Slippery Beast" and yes....Im a sz medium!
this bike is elegant on so many levels...
I’d be naming her either “The Beast” you pretty much named it yourself right out of the box or “Dolly” as in Ollie’s Dolly.
Great Scott! (Back to the future reference)
i would love to get this bike, top aerodynamics and good weight but it just looks terrible. I don't know if it is the slanted top tube or what but this foils are horrendous. Hard to beat the canyon aeroad look!
Bike name: The
Olivefoil
Where is link on aero testing which you mentioned at beginning
Depending on how it manages the lakes you could christen it "Fred the Foil" in honour of Fred Whitton
I go through the abc with my bikes, and my latest road bike is called Ernesto. (Yes i don't have many bikes...)
why did mine come in 8kg? lol
Bike name: Free Speed (or Freed / Freda) because of the aero advantages but also 'cause its a sponsor provided bike :-)
Late 90s/early 2000s reference. “Scott Foil - keeping cycling fresh”
im a 16, soon to be 17 year old male, looking for a road bike to start cycling properly, so some advice would really be appreciated, does anybody know if the specialised allez would be a good bike?
Bike name: Scollie (Scott+ Ollie)
In my best Owen Wilson voice: "Wooooow!"
Competition entry- Latoya the Kom destroyer
Also the names origins is Spanish so should do nicely for smashing your next trip!
Call it the "Teardrop". It is after all pretty aero. Besides, i would like that helmet, so "the" teardrop or just teardrop is a classic win-win.
I came here just to see how many bikey mcbike face suggestions there were... Rainbow Fatboy would be an appropriate foil for the black aero beauty
Stealth, cause it’s a cool lethal speed bike. 😁
