I would recommend JazzyCat's traffic mods, makes the traffic a lot more diverse and realistic. He's got loads of combinations too. Glad you implemented the Hemil route advisor and that's a neat trick on the console, didn't know about that! But what I will say is to use the DP's realistic traffic mod on the workshop for timings etc. Eg it's quite quiet at night and really busy at rush hour in the morning. Keep it up and stay safe!
the in game traffic density console option makes mods that increase traffic obsolete and has done for quite some time. only mods that really make a difference now is AI behavior mods. also he did the traffic setting wrong. anything above x4 traffic gets ignored. and on my pc i go from 90 fps to about 50 with 4x traffic. there is no way he has done it correctly.
@@Arthur-jx8bm since they added the traffic density thing to the console. and updated the console thing. the game does that itself. granted there are mods that do it better. but those then tend to break other things. especially with Promods in my experience. all the traffic mods now state that you can not use it with the Traffic density setting in game. it has to be set to x1. but x4 traffic puts more traffic on the road then any AI traffic mod i know off. like i said you will want to get an AI behaviour mod (for more realistic rush hour even though the game makes an attempt at it itself) and merging behaviours. then you want a mod that at least doubles the traffic light duration and combine it with the in game console traffic density option. you'll get far better results and it wont break map mods. the mods what they did is the same as the in game traffic density setting. they find the spawnpoint for cars between 6AM and 12PM and if that particular spawn was normally set to spawn 100 cars between those in game hours. then the mods would change it to a higher number. that is what the in game setting does too. it would make a spawn point that normally spawns 100 cars in 6 hours at x1, spawn 400 cars in that same time frame at x4. the game always had a sort of simulation of traffic density depending on time. if you are driving at 3AM you see way less cars then 7AM peak rush hour. even on 1x settings. the 4x setting just spawns 4 times more cars in all those cases. so you would see 4 times more cars then normal at 3AM yes, but you would also see 4 times more cars then normal at 7AM.
Agreed. That mod makes time of day more realistic. My roads are packed in comparison to the base game now. I also added his motorbike pack and someone else’s classic car pack so there is real variety in the traffic now. An other TIP that might come in handy. I assume that not everyone is aware of this one. I recently discovered the options for the NumPAd on your keyboard. This NumPad, will allow you to use the camera in the game. I mapped NumPad 7, 5, and 9 on my (G-29) steering wheel. This may come in handy for those who do not have an Track IR, like me. These NumPad keys do some how compensate a little bit for this. Numpad 7 = Looks to your Left hand mirror. I mapped the + NumPad 5 = Centers your view. ( I get back to this later) I mapped the - NumPad 9 = Looks to your Right hand mirror. I mapped the round Enter button. Now, you need to know that you can use this in combination with "F4", press F4 and you get a whole new set of settings. For example, your mirrors, your seat height and distance to your dashboard. There is also an option where you can turn your head, from left to right, and up and down. I have set it in such way that I always have a good view into my Left hand mirror but not that far that it hinders my view straight ahead. You can also activate the "Steering Camera Rotation", but this takes some getting used to, because your camera moves with your steering wheel. I like to use these buttons when I pass an other vehicle on the highway. After I passed, I press the - to see if I am clear of the vehicle I just passed. Press + to center my view again and change lanes. I often use it when I go around a corner to see if my trailer is not hitting anything. It is also handy to see where you are going, from a traffic light for example. I just do not have to reach over every time to use the mouse. I like to ad that this is also very handy, particularly when you make use of a shifter.
@@TomRxtroWav397 i am not from the UK, but the National road rules says that you normally cant switch lanes after you enter (its okay to switch when you are leaving) . Some countries does not have these rules, but i think UK has it. So all in all; daggerwin should have picked the right lane from the beginning (the other truck are lost)
I'm with you mate, that truck was totally in the wrong lane, and I'm not just saying that because I was involved in an almost identical incident many years ago on the A6/A42 roundabout near Leicester. I was in a Vauxhall Corsa not a truck, but there was an artic in the outside lane who decided he was turning right, cut in front of me and creased my bonnet a fair bit without even noticing. Shook me up I can tell you. Incidentally I can recommend the ProMods trailer and company pack as an alternative to SiSL's as it replaces the companies you work for as well, plus the ProMods Middle East map extension if you fancy a trip over to Jerusalem at some point in the future.
It would be really cool if you use the console walk around(ish) feature to walk around. You could also use it before the job (Roleplay that you are going to the desk to grab the papers needed) and the same for when you finish a job (Roleplay that you giving the papers back.) I am really enjoying the series so far! Keep it up!!! And with regards to the crash, the Local was definitely to blame. He was in the wrong lane to go right.
Love this series! I've played quite a lot myself, starting over 2-3 times and yeah, progress is super slow, but that's part of the charm, much like your FS survival roleplay series. It takes a lot of work, but feels som much sweeter when you can finally afford that new piece of equipment. In real life, you probably wouldn't be buying a brand new truck as your first, since it would take so much longer to save up, so if there's a used truck mod, I think that would be an excellent one to install, along with some older truck mods like Scania Series IV, R-Series 5, Volvo FH1 and FH2 and maybe Mercedes-Benz SK and Actros 1. Start with an old, used truck with reasonable hp. For new trucks Iveco are by far the cheapest and would be a good option for first non-used fleet purchase... can later be handed over to your first hired driver. In my latest game, I saved up just over 50% of the price for a min-spec Iveco then took out a loan for the rest. I think this would be fairly realistic, since the loan can then be very small and the rates affordable. Of course, this would also mean that extreme attention must be paid when taking jobs, since the truck is not very powerful... to put it mildly. Gravel pits are an absolute no-no! One of the things I love most about the game is the fantastic scenery, so I like to experiment with weather and scenery-detail mods, so 3rd person views are very welcome. I'm currently trying to decide, whether I should install Pro-Mods again, so I'm using your series for inspiration.
Crash 1: not your fault the other truck was in the wrong lane. Crash 2: not your fault it was your right of way as the other truck had to merge into your lane. Crash 3: unsure what the other truck was doing. Just a small suggestion when in the yard whether pick up or drop off could you put your hazard lights on just to add too the realism. Keep up the good work, enjoying the series so far.
So because of you I have installed ProMods. I have no idea what I'm getting myself into but the UK looks so much better based on the small portion you have shown us. It looks like I'll actually spend time there now.
Dag, instead of using the mouse to look around you could assign your steering d-pad keys to look left and right and you can assign another key on your steering to "Interior view" (by default that is the '1' key on keyboard) so it resets the camera after you have looked around. this way you dont have to take yours hands off the wheel
I think i prefer looking around at the Passenger side mirror rather than the ui one. It made your first video more realistic. Love the hud/integrated satnav combo tho!
Map your cruse control buttons it’s so much easier to switch it back on to the speed you were previously doing. If you go from one 56mph road onto another you can hit resume and it will get to that speed by itself. I do it all the time in my car
I would like to make a suggestion: since you still don't own a truck, thus not having to worry about fuel expenses, I'd recommend taking the best paying job, rather than higher-price-per-distance ones, as you get more income without losses, especially now that you can't yet take long-distance jobs.
So glad you started this series! Not only did I buy ETS2 at Xmas because of your videos (& Squirrels), but I also got a gaming chair, steering wheel, pedals & side control panel for when I'm on FS19 & I'm not even a gamer lol
Very nice series so far, also if you go into your game options you can chane your delivery settings to automatically default to skilled parking which would save you having to stop, select your delivery option and then start driving again every time you reach your delivery point.
Really enjoy the realistic approach you are taking to this series. It's nice to see someone not trying to rush through things. Also really enjoying the FS19 survival series and the multiplayer competitive series. Was curious though, have you ever or do you do any live streaming of your gaming or content? Didn't want to miss out if you do/did.
I’ve absolutely loved the long video I’ve never enjoyed so many series at once ( survival challenge , survival role play and ETS survival ) amazing content daggerwin keep up the amazing work from your welsh viewer
G'day mate, just a quick couple of notes for the realism side of things. If you want absolute maximum realism/difficulty check out the economy overhaul mods on steam. Secondly, it's been stated on the forums by the developers that the sliders for stability and cabin suspension allllll the way to the left is "realistic". So if you want to have the truck behave as realistic as possible do that, or add in a physics mod, some are amazing. Finally, along with the economy overhaul there are mods for traffic density and behaviour and real gas prices to go along with the overhaul. Steam workshop has some very good ones. Looking forward to seeing the series develop, and hope you enjoy it, more important than like ratio imo.
I liked the motorway time-lapses. It looked like the truck in crash 1 was trying to change lanes but you kept stopping them. Crash 2&3 not your fault. And you can do 60 on a dual carriageway it's just most limiters kick in at 57. Didn't pay attention to what you were doing but it's 40 mph on a single carriageway. Not that most drivers stick to it thankfully. keep up the good work this and your no man's land survival are my favorites.
Absolutely class i love the tune towards the end as for the crashed the one with the truck in the road works hard on to tell but the one the motorway there fault
in North America I believe in 2 lane roundabouts semi trucks have use of both lanes to allow for trailer swing. (I may be wrong, but that's what I've been told in the past)
Your steering wheel reminds me of a VW Golf I used to have, on hot days it made the same noise, it was the trim around it's base that was catching, Great vid by the way :)
Dag I reckon 40 you and 60 low loader guy because he was in the wrong lane but he did have his indicater on to go around the roundabout. Great vid keep up the amazing work
40:34 Yeah, I go through phases with this game. My favorite way to play it is with AI traffic on because it's more chill and realistic. But things like that happen, where the traffic just veers into you or rams you as you're taking a turn, or cuts you off with not enough time to brake down to their speed. AI traffic also has this habit of wildly switching between lanes right after entering a highway, sometimes with no regard if you're there or not. So after about ten hours of playing with traffic on I usually switch to online for a bit. Though the deserted roads and the occasional trolls or people perma-broadcasting music on a crackling mic tend to make me crave for single player very quickly again. And the cycle restarts.
Crash 1: It was both of you at fault because you were in the wrong lane and so was he. Crash 2: It was their fault because they pulled out just after you had gone past which was why your truck gained damage on the trailer. Crash 3: It was their fault because he switched into the other lane and then cut straight back into the lane you were in causing damage to your truck. Hope this helped daggerwin thanks for the vid and I appreciate what you do for TH-cam ‘keep calm and carry on’ is what they say.
I've been enjoying this series. Can't wait to see what's in the future. I think you should be allowed to use third-person camera while dropping off a trailer but only when you're stationary. An occasional night drive would also be nice.
hello Daggerwin i suggest that you put the following command into the following command into the console of the game g_cam_window_block 1 this command blocks you from looking out the window if you are using 1.37 and up. so you have to open your window before you can 'hang' out of it. i think it would be small, but a great addition to your as real as possible Survival Trucking series. i really like it! Greats from Holland, Anton
Promods have done an amazing job with the attention to detail . I have tried to play multiplayer on the promods server but can't get in to it . I do enjoy multiplayer if only there was more traffic apart from other truckers it would be cool . Also love the cb function on it Keep up the good work daggerwin
I dont mind you do 3rd person when parking up ( but do it with out moving ) so if you are in doubt if you gonna hit something, the 3rd person would be just like going out of the truck and check, then go back to first person and finish the parking.
Idk about all of you guys I love what Daggerwin is doing and Love this series but god if he was driving a semi truck and I was driving by him I would do everything in my power to get away from him he gets so close to cars when he stops and he doesn’t look to his left ever when he merges 😂 I mean it could be different rules for driving them in the USA
Hi Daggerwin. Liking the new survival trucking episode. Just a heads up for you. There is a setting in GAMEPLAY called "Truck Speed Limit". Tick the box and it apply's the truck speed to 56mph so you don't go over the speed. (unless your doing down hill) LOL.
UK HGV speed limit is 60mph but we are limited to 56mph by EU directive. As for the first accident, the other HGV was at fault, you were in the right lane for taking the 2nd lane of the exit. The 2nd they blatantly drove into you lol
i would really recomend a mod called Tuned Trucks in Traffic Pack by Trafficmaniac. Makes some of the ai trucks have exterior accesories and more realistic in my opinion
Think your settings are fine and agree with the timelapse suggestion's. The first crash... You are right in that the truck was in the wrong lane but he/she was indicating to go that way. A shunt from the rear in my own experience usually looks more bad on the driver hitting you from the rear but just an opinion. The main second crash..... the other drivers an idiot!
Love to watch you branch out into a new series, I’m excited to see where this one goes! Looking forward to seeing you progress. Thank you daggerwin
These trucking videos are really good. One of my favorite series to watch.
LOL! "Sitting in Traffic Simulator."
This is a really good series can't wait for the next one
Definitely the other drivers fault
It would be really cool if you use the console walk around(ish) feature to walk around. You could also use it before the job (Roleplay that you are going to the desk to grab the papers needed) and the same for when you finish a job (Roleplay that you giving the papers back.) I am really enjoying the series so far! Keep it up!!! And with regards to the crash, the Local was definitely to blame. He was in the wrong lane to go right.
I think you should up the traffic density to the max (10). It just creates a more fun, realistic experience. Apart from that this series is amazing!!
I love that you're back in ETS! The length of the video is perfect! Keep up the good work! :)
"I don't understand what was up with the DAF" anyone who's ever owned or operated one know exactly what was wrong with it, the badge lol
Scania drivers be like
@@conallplatts5244 truer words have never been spoken.
I can 10000% agree with that, it’s a DAF - dead and f***ed
Enjoying the series!
Tip: you can turn on adaptive transmission modes, where when you kickdown, the transmission downshifts a few gears!
I really love how the series is going so far keep it up
I love it best one yet your videos make very happy
Yay more trucks. At some point u should do a one of job in the states
This is ETS, i dont think daggerwin is going to do ATS any time soon, sorry
Excellent and entertaining video. No blame for the collisions. Thank you.
Haha love that you used Squirrel's console guide! Another one of my fav TH-camrs. You're doing great by the way! Keep up the amazing series so far. :)
the night time lapse reminded me of trips with my dad and I loved it
Absolutely class i love the tune towards the end as for the crashed the one with the truck in the road works hard on to tell but the one the motorway there fault
in North America I believe in 2 lane roundabouts semi trucks have use of both lanes to allow for trailer swing. (I may be wrong, but that's what I've been told in the past)
This is the best ets 2 series I have ever seen keep up the good work
Dagger you need to put a pole to see if you get your money get for the crashes if its your at fault lose the money if not get it back.
love the series
Your steering wheel reminds me of a VW Golf I used to have, on hot days it made the same noise, it was the trim around it's base that was catching, Great vid by the way :)
Dag I reckon 40 you and 60 low loader guy because he was in the wrong lane but he did have his indicater on to go around the roundabout. Great vid keep up the amazing work
Nice to see trucking 🚚 again. Thanks Daggerwin. Longer videos please 🙏
I love when you put song names on screen. Maybe add to the description as well please?
I love your work. You are so easy to watch and make every video enjoyable.
So glad you got the Route advisor mod, it really increases the immersion when you don't have that old UI popped up on the left side.
36:55 I recently indicated on a highway that was bending left. I looked the fool.
hello Daggerwin i suggest that you put the following command into the following command into the console of the game
g_cam_window_block 1
this command blocks you from looking out the window if you are using 1.37 and up. so you have to open your window before you can 'hang' out of it. i think it would be small, but a great addition to your as real as possible Survival Trucking series.
i really like it!
Greats from Holland,
Anton
Really enjoying this series. Thanks heaps for all the work you put into your work
Promods have done an amazing job with the attention to detail .
I have tried to play multiplayer on the promods server but can't get in to it .
I do enjoy multiplayer if only there was more traffic apart from other truckers it would be cool .
Also love the cb function on it
Keep up the good work daggerwin
IDK, some of those flowers may be sunflowers, that ADR certificate may come in handy.
Hello Again
@@matthewbrown2109 Hi
46:38 the amount of times this happened to me is unreal
I don’t like playing these type, games but I like watching ur series keep it up daggerwin
I dont mind you do 3rd person when parking up ( but do it with out moving ) so if you are in doubt if you gonna hit something, the 3rd person would be just like going out of the truck and check, then go back to first person and finish the parking.
Love the series
This is a brilliant series
I’m from Australia and the road rules for trucks/lories are quiet different and it gets kinda triggering
Im also an australian and from the basic rules here id say dagger was 60% at fault other truck 40%
I’m Australian
I miss Austrlia
daggerwin: lets just put it in reverse al ways helps
reverse : i am here to help always
Use DP's realistic traffic, as it makes traffic increase during rush hour
Left hand lane and turning right definitely realistic 🤣 thanks for getting me into ets2 fs19 is on the back burner for a few months 👍🏻
i would really recomend a mod called Tuned Trucks in Traffic Pack by Trafficmaniac.
Loving the series so far :))
Imagine if he did a survival RP for this game 😍😍
Used vehicles dealership, daggerwin, loving the series already, great idea to time-lapse on long motorways really keeps u interested, keep it going buddy.
This video is so much better than the last video and keep the expenses is the same in real life in the beginning of the video and when you get your first truck get a volvo fh ai was in the rong big time and hallo from western australia on the 6th of January 2021
I'm started loving truck simulators games now a days so this series is perfect for me love your videos BTW❤️
You are doing fine I love watching ur fs19 survival challenge and story lines and I love this series of ets 2 where u have started from the beginning unlike in ur other ets 2 playlist
Can't time lapse real life so much for a realistic series
