@@Rekhasingh-bg7wc The only thing I know about B.F.Tech is that they get better campus placement than design students, Atleast that’s what happened in my batch and senior batches. Maybe in future I can make a video if I manage to bring one of my batchmates from B.F. Tech department to collaborate. I have more information about Design Department.
Want to know about textile design didi I am taking up textile design so I want to know about it and how life moves there do we get a little time for ourselves in a day or it's only working ! And also about business as I am going for textile as our family business is in that and I wanted to be knowledgeable about the topic rather than learning it the hard way I wanted a smart way
I'm determined to excel in the NIFT entrance examination, despite hearing about its difficulty. Can you share insights into the exam format, effective preparation methods, recommended study materials, and tips for achieving a high score? Thank you!
All the best with your preparations. When I took the exam, it was a written test along with one related to sketching, but that was a few years ago, so I'm not sure if it's the same now. You can check the NIFT website for the updated format. I'd recommend practicing sketching every day, specially 6 months before exam. I made another Q&A video related to NIFT where I discussed it in detail, so feel free to check it out if you need more information.
I am in 11th and I’ll give nift entrance exam in 2026 and i prepare from some books like arihant publications and learnx.Any other ways and ideas to study? BRDS and other coaching classes are bit expensive and like it’s not 100% sure that I’ll go in designing only so it will be waste of money. Please tell me what to do!?
As long as you know the format of question paper, I think you can easily prepare at home, specially in a situation like yours where you’re still making your mind. I’ll be making a video explaining all the important questions asked in the comments section because it’s a bit tough to explain here in detail.

Don’t stress too much, you can start preparing whenever you’re in mid 11th or 12th standard. But you can start practising the sketching part if you really want.
Hey’ I am a Bcom Hons graduate & I am confused whether to take up Master of Fashion Management or Master of Design? Which one has a better scope & salary structure! Can you please tell? Thank you
I have one more question you are a niftian so what you want before getting nift and what are you doing after nift please tell me because i gonna take admission in nift...
I wanted to join fashion design before joining nift. My brother and I both got selected in the same year; he took fashion design, and I took textile design, thinking that we would work together in the future. But as we grew up, things changed. He pursued further studies, and I got into illustrations and graphics because that was my strong area. I worked as a textile designer for 4 months as my first job, then I started building portfolio as an illustrator (graphic design), also worked as a costume stylist. NIFT allows you to be open about things; you can literally pick any stream after college as long as you make a strong portfolio.
Here's a refined version: I’ll be posting a video this week (Thursday) answering all the questions related to NIFT. It’s tough to explain in detail in the comment section; I’ll be covering a bit of this topic in the video.
I got mdes ,, and heard that they re not providing placements ... So I'm in doubt wheather to join or not.....i want to become a graphic or illustrator designer...so will it be good to join the nift or i should do 1 yr training course in any other institution?
They are providing placement but this year particularly it was bad for masters students. The companies in placement mostly hired people with work experience for masters. Had really good package for ui/ux tho(15-22). I would recommend get the 1 year training and certifications some work ex if you like graphic designing then join, continue the project staying in clg. It won’t just be designing tho.
Yes you can, start practising sketching part everyday. I made a video where I answered this question about preparation, you can check that out for more info.
Hi Ma'am, ive been alotted nift chennai in round 1 and couldnt save my seat due to our financial situation. I again participated in spot round now AND IVE GOT NIFT BENGALURU. AND WE ARE STILL SHORT ON MONEY. What do i do? Ive only got time till 2:00pm tody
@@garima6123 yeah maam thats why i applied to nift in the first place because it has scholarship. But i didnt know schlorships were applicable after getting there like from 2nd sem onwords. Im registered and got the roll no and got alloted into a group even tho i didnt pay the fee because of some error. So im mentally present there but not physically.💀
In my department, there was one expensive textile design software that was only available in the college computer lab, but students had access to paid forecasting websites, which you can use from anywhere.

I was also in Textile Design. To be honest, initial placements are a bit tough in any department, but once you step into the industry, you'll figure out your ways because you start building your portfolio, and things get better. I would suggest you to study Indian crafts deeply during craft classes because they are very unique and are gaining a lot of recognition globally. Don’t worry too much; just keep focusing on your portfolio and enjoy the process.
Initial placement is a bit tricky, but once you get into industry things get better. I have a few batchmates who were struggling after two years of college, while some of them were doing really great. It depends on how good you are at your work and how you build your portfolio. If you can afford the college, I would suggest you join rather than doing online classes. It gives you structure, discipline, and contacts for the future. Plus, the process teaches you a lot.
Getting a high-paying ‘first job is very tough in any department. It takes some time to figure things out after graduating from campus. I have seen people who are truly passionate about design; they do really well after a few initial years. AD (Jewellery Design) students from my batch are doing really well, and some of them have their own well known jewellery brands.
If you have any questions or would like me to make a detailed video on a related topic, please comment below. I'll be happy to help! 😊
Sure ❤️

A random question..is nift open/working on weekends, in case anyone wants to use the library or play sports or something?
When I was in college, yes, the library used to be open until lunchtime on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays.
But I'm not sure if it's the same now.

Depends on your interest and what you’re more passionate about.
Is there scope of job after nift?
Or should i learn everything by myself
Because fee is so high and they are not giving jobs...

I have heard nift Gandhinagar’s AD is best is it true? For placement and educational too?
Yes, it's really good.
Gandhi Nagar AD is basically jewelry design, and people from my batch are doing really well.
I got nift AD esme placement kaisa hai mam esme scope keya hai

It completely depends on Design skills
