This video is to share my journey through the placement process at NIFT after completing my Master’s in Fashion Management, graduating in 2024. In this video, I’ll walk you through every step from start to finish, giving you an insider's look at how everything happens.
I’ll share my real experiences-the highs, the lows, and everything in between. But this video is not to scary you, if you're determined to carve out a career in fashion, you can absolutely make it. Just take a few notes from my journey and learn from what I have to say.

Hi Jagriti, my rank for NIFT MFM open category is 141 and I’ve been allotted Chennai campus. As per official schedule, 4th round was the last round and now spot round will happen. Just wanted to know if I can participate in Spot round if I’ve already gotten seat but not satisfied and also haven’t opted for freeze option?

Hey, your video was soooo helpful but i have a minor question. I have humanities and I'm in 12th, i regret till this date that i should've gone for commerce since just now i developed my interest is branding, marketing, etc. what skills do you think one should develop to be smart in this feild? Ik I'm just in 12th and shouldn't worry about it much since nift is gonna get me the exposure anyway but i feel withdrawn 😭😬
Hi. I totally get what you’re feeling. I have seen people from medical and non medical also switching their fields to marketing, in my class. So, don’t worry. You’re not missing out. But anyways for grad, if you want to go for branding and marketing, there isn’t any course in nift. Grad courses are all about design or design tech or FC. So, for that something like b.com, or bms would be good. The masters course in NIFT that is MFM, what i did, is more towards that. Hope this was helpful.

Hii ...got AIR 78 gen category for MFM.. finally after sitting for three rounds of counselling ( though I got a seat in the first round only) I got NIFT Gandhinagar..and after u said ..that companies' first preference were Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore..I am a little scared ..
So anyone who had studied from there or has any contacts in NIFT Gandhinagar ...do let me know ..is it worth it??..because this is the second time I am hearing that despite the centralised placements system .. favouritism is there...and we all know what top 3 campuses are...

See, it also depends on how much efforts you put in finding a good job. If you have the capabilities, you can do it. And anyways NIFT name does add to a lot, when you apply for a job. But yes, placements are fucked up no doubt.

Uh I am not sure for other courses. You can connect with the bachelors students on linkedin and ask them, they’d be happy to help. If i talk about MFM, any laptop would be great.

NIFT definitely has a good reputation that follows through when you’re searching for a job. And it depends on your hardwork too. So dont worry, just focus on learning for these 4 years.
I didn't get the preferred campus which was gandhinagar, Bangalore, Mumbai or Hyderabad my rank is 1006 in general now I'm sitting for spot round, I'm scared now what if I dont get in this last round should I opt and go for private or take a year break and give exam again

Both, offline and online.
Being an ex student of nift ...i can tell you that you are so brave ..but i have a doubt ..why online job...i mean you got better options when comes to design &textiles ,or apparel,Vm ..etc...🤨..

Also; I didn’t pursue design. I pursued fashion management, so my options were mostly in merchandising, buying and marketing. And wfh works great for me, since I can continue my content creation as well.

NIFT has a procedure called SPT (Student Permanent Transfer) which allows students to change centres and/or courses permanently after the end of the 2nd semester.
The formalities for this process will start once you enter into your 2nd semester and requires you to give your name and the centre or department you want to transfer too.
However, only a lucky few are transfered because it depends on your marks, which should be really good and secondly your chosen centre or course must have a vacancy for you to avail it.
