Tying A Salmon Fly On A Pop Rivet! The Ponoi Gold

- A simple pop rivet converted to a hairwing salmon fly, the Ponoi Gold. This Scandinavian style salmon tube fly will give lots of moment with the water protruding over the large rivet head, stimulating the movement given from fishing monster or turbo cones.
A set of pop rivets will cost you a few pence per fly where a weighted tube and monster/turbo cone will cost you significantly more money as well as taking longer to tie.

Thank you! Emuer, as I remember, has 1.8 mm tubes.
That was awesome and innovated. I have riviets some where, I'll have to try that. But I'll need to get an adapter for the vise. I just sub'd, you have some great content, 👍 thanks!
Thanks very much and welcome to the channel Joe, glad you are enjoying it. Definitely invest in one of the cheap adapters from AliExpress I use in the videos, no need to spend more than a few pounds 👍 you won't regret it

Hello! I liked the idea with the rivets. Please tell me what diameter rivet you choose?
I use 3 and 4mm outside diameter rivets depending on the overall size of play I want. 4 OD fits more tube liners while the 3 OD needs xs tube liner like eumer. Hope that helps 👍
What size of pop river
I use loads of different sizes Eddie but think this is a 12mm long 3mm diameter one. Eumur XS for the tube liner
Great fly nice tying 👍
@@magnetchi thanks very much Tommy, can't wait to get chasing them fish with it in a few months 🤞
Nice video. What is your source for the fox? I am having trouble finding those bright colors of orange, sunburst ornge and yellow or are you dying them yourself?
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. I got most of my fox from AM Fly Tying. They also do a great mixed bag for £30 or £25 which lasts forever and great quality. Hope that helps 👍
