That’s Lagos for you, most house owners are beginning to convert their houses. Most of this agents hike the house rents to suit themselves I know this because I am an agent. Good luck ❤
@@dera_giselle To get a a person one can trust and deliver good quality is very rare. 220 Million Nigerians , what a wonderful treat it would be to get straight forward and honest service...Greed is a hinderance and stifles trust/ Plenty to go round.
Nowadays in Lagos (I don’t know about other states) whenever you get a new prepaid meter, it comes with some outstanding fees. According to NEPA, that is their estimated bill for the few months you were waiting for the prepaid meter and using direct contact. Whether you were in the house or not, even if it’s a new house, as long as it’s a new prepaid meter, it comes with outstanding bills. The place I moved out from, we got a new prepaid meter for my apartment and another apartment to share and that meter came with over 80k outstanding fees. So we were mandated to recharge over 40k the first and second time. NEPA took more than half of the money and gave us some units. After the first and second recharge, any money we recharged, NEPA took half and gave us units with the remaining half. It was so hard and annoying. So I was really hoping I would move into a place with an old prepaid meter that had no outstanding bills and I was lucky to get a meter with no outstanding bills.
Very very expensive. If someone now goes to rent house in places like Ikeja GRA or some places on the island, the person will even spend over 5 million Naira😭
Why wouldn’t the landlord fix the house before showing it to potential tenants? What’s wrong with Lagos agents? Are they this naive & gullible? Lagos is overrated. No moral considerations. What a mess!
They don’t fix it because they know some persons will eventually settle for the apartments cos they’d be tired of searching endlessly😢 Those landlords need regulations. If not, they’ll never change
Omo, it’s not even funny. I can only imagine the stress in one has to undergo in house hunting in Nigeria. I wish they can upgrade to only then you only get to book for appointments for viewing, it’ll save us from so much stress
Lagos with their cra$&$py house, reason I can never live in Lagos. I will be depressed, if I rented any of those apartments. What is special in Lagos? Why do people want to live in that dirty city? Blows my mind.

Hey Dera can you elaborate on the outstanding fees with prepaid meters?
