Taaa-DaaAAAaaaaa! Two videos this week, BRUH. Next week's might be a little late, my beautiful friend Christine from CA is coming to stay with us from Fri-Mon, so I'll be vlogging and that might not be up til Monday or Tuesday. Okay thas it I love you all!
The Pinup Companion Loved it... I also do milkmaid braid but I always do it below the ears and when pulled over it has a pocket of hair not doing anything. Thanks that tip of wearing braids above the ear is great. Need to try now. Love you always Rachel
Love it! Last time I did this I started below the ear and they would not stay, so I’m very glad to find this tutorial. Also, your personality is very relatable... people are taken aback when I comment saying “bruh, homie, dawg” ✌🏻 I subbed right after you made my bust out laughing with “pin the ever loving shit” 😂😂😂
Literally saw this while grabbing my morning tea, watched the first 20 seconds, immediately walked into my room to get my comb, brush, 2 hair ties and bobby pins, then sat back down and did this with you on the first time watching it through! I have always been intimidated by "doing hair" in ways that look okay to, ya know, leave the house with...??? You make me less intimidated and more decisive!
My grandma just did my hair like this! She told me that this was the hairstyle she and her sisters would do in the 40’s before school if they forgot to put curlers in the night before! Sorta like a lazy day hairstyle she made it seem like!! So pretty
Love it... Thank you! I just tried it. I asked my husband what he thought... He said that it looks good from the front, and that from the side I look like a granny. He saved himself by saying an "attractive granny", so I gotta be happy with that haha
I was watching your most recent vid while getting ready.. decided I wanted to do milkmaid braids but needed a tutorial.. searched one up… and it’s you! YOUR INFLUENCE! You are the moment. You are the metaverse. Anyways, thanks!
I like when you say "whether you're new or old" because it kind of describes your channel as well :> can't wait for when my hair's long enough to try this! So cute!
I have a very long, thin face and I often do my hair like this...the style really hi-lights your cheekbones and also adds a tiny bit of width to your face. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for making the comment about where to start the braids. I always was starting them behind my ears and then got frustrated because my hair was not long enough. Can't wait to try this now. Thanks for your great videos.
AAAAAH where was this two years ago [gross sobbing] my hair is short and I'm growing it out, I'll be back to this in a couple of years, but you did make it look simple! also I hate how you practise a style at home and you're like YEAH I did it, cute! and then you go to do it for going out, and suddenly you hair refuses to work, like how DARE you I grew you out myself also that lipstick shade is gorgeous and the top (dress?) is soooo pretty
The hair is not a roof, but I will raise it! (is banned from the internet forever for my bad joke) Ungrateful hair, tbh. Mine is going through puberty, some days it's amazing and it looks great and other days it's a frizzball like wow, rude, I spend a lot of money on hair products and masks for you and that's how you repay me?
This is really great! I love wearing my hair in a braid crown, the kind that's like a dutch braid that sticks and then I just have to pin one end, but it takes so much time to make it look good. I thought I had to wait until it was longer to be able to just do two braids and pin them across the top of my head but somehow I didn't think of just - moving the base point of the braids up above my ears? so anyway I'm about to start wearing this hairdo all the time, thanks!!
Yay, two videos this week! Thank you for even more of a Rachel-fix! I know in your last video you were very open with us about how much work goes into these, and honestly, it shows, and I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say, we really appreciate it! Your videos brighten my days, and I cannot WAIT to try these braids. 😁👍🏻
what you could also do if you've lost all your bobby pins (you know it happens to you too) is tie the braids together like you would tie rope and then kind of just tuck in the ends. it's surprisingly secure. if i'm feeling fancy, sometimes i'll thread long ribbon through a yarn needle and sew the braids in place (i usually tie the ends of the ribbon together in a bow to add an extra fancy touch) and because the ribbon is slippery, it's easy to take out.
Rachel!! I felt the same way when I found out how to do milkmaid braids. It was like, "this is the easiest thing I've ever done- why was I too scared to try it before??!!" I think all the shades of red in your hair look lovely. Thanks for the extra vid this week! 😊
You are absolutely brilliant. My hair it's not long at all... maybe 2 or three inches past my chin, and following your tutorial, I was sort of able to pull this off. My husband said it looked pretty. Thank you!!!!
It set my little fangirl heart aflutter when you mentioned Hayley and "CrushCrushCrush." Love milkmaid braids and they really suit you. Thanks for the vid!
I love this hairstyle and I used to do it when my hair was super long but now it's just under my collarbone... so, I have to thank you for reminding me that it's possible to braid your hair above your ear *facepalm* I will definitely be trying it out now!! :)
I tried this today to go weight lifting. It. Was. Amazing. No issues with front or back racks and no headache from a high tight bun... just a million bobby pins.
Haha, without fail anytime I do milkmaid braids I get asked how to do that magic. They're the best! And oh, the journey of having red hair. 😂 I'm about at the stage where I need to re-dye too, only my different colors are darker rather than lighter.
Yeess they look so complicated but they're the farthest from it 😂😂 Hahaha I SWEAR they change the ladies on the box dyes weekly because I can never seem to buy the same one twice 😂
It helps to pin both braids together using the same pins: while gravity pulls them down in opposite directions, the hold each other together. Also, this uses 50% fewer pins.
I have mashed Morgan’s love for ribbons and this tutorial in order to do my braids. Basically I just did some hair taping afterwards (it’s hard for me because I don’t have a yarn needle) I really like this during summer because if I do a high pony then it’ll just fall onto my neck because my hair is long :’) It is messy though due to my inability to make neat stuff with my hair, so I usually sleep in it so it looks “intentional” messy
You look adorable!!! 'The milkmaid' was my go to style all summer (my hair is ridiculously long and it was the only way I was able to keep it out of my way and remain cute lol) it's so easy and comfy...
I actually tried this one and it's not bad! I'll have to work on having the bases of the braids looking cleaner but it's a good start. And since I had braid length left over, I folded one tail in front and one end in back and tucked them under the central mass. It's very cute and I wouldn't have thought of it on my own, thank you!
Yay! Thanks for sharing! I have a video request - could you show us how you take care of your hair across a whole week? I'm interested to know how many times you wash your hair, put it in rollers and what you do on the days your hair hasn't been freshly curled and brushed out. I've started curling my hair with overnight curlers, but I don't have the time to do them every single day - would love to see what you do! Thanks!
I can't find my OG comment, but I did these but fishtail style for Thanksgiving. Starting the braid that high up worked much, much better so thanks for the tip!
I have watched your instructions verrrrry carefully! I'm going to do this hair style, tomorrow! I hope it looks as good as yours did, or I swear I shall cry! lol! I love your how-to videos! ~Janet in Canada 🥰😍😘
Im shook i didn't realise how long your has gotten, it is like when @idacath on instagram showed her hair without pin curls and it was so long i was like wowza, just gawgeous 💕
I was watching Lolita (the 90's one) the other day and I thought whoooo does the actress remind me of and it was you! Then you went and put this tutorial up of the braids she wore in the film. Coincidence?! I THINK NOT.
I made a video clip for my workplace in full pin-up with rolls and everything, and they told me that the camera was dodgy so I had to redo the clip. I hadn't been bothered to set my hair and whilst I know that looks aren't everything, I still wanted to look presentable in the clip so I did this quick style instead and it turned out super cute! Love it!
I know this is an old video but thank you for this! You're the only one I trust with vintage hair styles😅 and I've always wanted to try milkmaid braids but it has always seemed so confusing for me? But I looked through your channel and found this and I'm so happy right now! I look so cute😂
I love this hairstyle and I was pretty amazed that I could actually do it right on my hair (since I suck at doing pretty much anything with them...), but everyone told me I looked weird and unprofessional ... I still do this a lot because I like how easy and how it pushed my hair out of my face when I'm working ! :)
Very cute and easy look! Have fun with your fraaand! I my hair is so thick that two crosses of a braid and I out of hair, but I have a few friends I'd love to try this on!
OMG! I think that I could actually accomplish that one. I can only make basic side braids successfully. I can’t French braid at all and I like my hair up. Thanks!
omg i dont think i've ever seen you with your hair down 0: you look lovely in all styles also, i have short af hair, i'm not totally sure why i'm watching this, but i'm enjoying it
fierce makeup (especially love your lipstick) -- this is a great hairstyle, but - um - my hair is about a millisecond long (pixie). I used to have hair down to my heinie -- and a handwritten/sketched book started by my great grandmother, added to by my grandmother and mother, of updos and braids and different ways to use hair accessories. Even a recipe for homemade hairspray. When our house was robbed, that little book was in the boxes taken. sigh. Sigh squared. It was SUCH AN AMAZING THING TO HAVE HAD!!!
Hahahaha I love how you described your hair when you film. This happens to me anytime I really want my hair to look good. If I'm just making a quick trip to Target then my victory rolls turn out immaculate. But if I'm going somewhere where I actually want to look good my hair makes exactly the same noise your does hahahaha! It's probably nerves...or hair anarchy.
Well I conquered this challenge because of your sweet video! Doing a 30 day vintage styles challenge on instagram! I'll tag you! @electrichey is my name! :)
Well hot dang that looked easy! I need to try that because I'm tired of ponytails and feeling like I'm gonna pull my scalp off😂 and that lipstick shade thoooo. Looks amazing on you 😊
How are you so cute? I love this hairstyle on you, I'm looking for some cute short hairstyles that are more vintage like Marilyn she had such cute short hair. Ooh could you do a video about cleaning vintage clothes after thrifting and shoes too so you know you won't get foot problems from them? Thank you so much for watching my vintage video too I squeed xx
School can be intimidating environment, trust me as an former weird girl I know. I wish I had more courage back then to say the heck what you and your friends think, I do what I want. The best advice is: if it doesn't hurt you or anyone else you go girl and just do it. Those who mind won't matter, and those who matter won't mind. Be different, be confident, be pretty and happy as you.
Petrexpe Plays I wore this hairstyle today for my first time vintage hairdo. I walked in thinking “oh my god i need to take it down people are gonna think i look weird” Nope, i received endless compliments and coworkers asking how i did it. Do it girl!
Just the other day I was combing through youtube to find a tutorial like this, just because I had seen you wearing the hairstyle! It's like you read my mind hehe :'D Love it!
Ah I adore this hairstyle so much! But unfortunately I have to wait about a year for my hair to be long enough... oh the tragedy. Once again a lovely video!
I gotta try this soon! Have tried it before, but with no success. I might need to let my hair grow a bit, but will sure keep practicing. You sure do look pretty with those braids, girly 😊
Thanks for the tutorial! It inspired me to try soooomething along that line with my hair today (althoug it's still too short to not look completely 'xplodey), and I'll surely try again once my hair is longer. I hope you have a great weekend with your friend, lovely!
I've been living in these braids all summer, except yours look way cuter! I think my layers make bits spike out and I just tried to hide that with wild flowers 😂🌿

Love it...
I've always loved this hair style but assumed you need really long hair to do it! Our hair is the same length, I'm so excited to try! Thank you
I like when you say "whether you're new or old" because it kind of describes your channel as well :>
can't wait for when my hair's long enough to try this! So cute!
AWW hehehe I didn't even make that connection!!
I have a very long, thin face and I often do my hair like this...the style really hi-lights your cheekbones and also adds a tiny bit of width to your face. Thanks for sharing this.
3:09 aww you look like a very cheery and adorable Wednesday Addams
ashton vickers Hahaha my life goals 😂❤️
definitely gonna try it out! but first i'll have to figure out where all my bobby pins have been hiding ;D
Hahahaha YUP story of my life 😂
Thank you for making the comment about where to start the braids. I always was starting them behind my ears and then got frustrated because my hair was not long enough. Can't wait to try this now. Thanks for your great videos.

blonkers Hahahaha I love that. "EXCUSE ME, I raised you since you were a centimeter long???"
The hair is not a roof, but I will raise it! (is banned from the internet forever for my bad joke)
Ungrateful hair, tbh. Mine is going through puberty, some days it's amazing and it looks great and other days it's a frizzball like wow, rude, I spend a lot of money on hair products and masks for you and that's how you repay me?
You could probably use hair extensions. :)
Did you go back?
I am OBSESSED with your hair tutorials! I hope you do more!
rachel: what you'll need is... hair
me, has shaved hair: oh wait...
just do itty bitty braids
@@flowerpot7067 not an option sadly, i had compleatly shaved hairs
I do this style all the time, it's great! Gets my hair out of the way and when I take it out, pretty waves.
Yeees exactly!!
This is really great! I love wearing my hair in a braid crown, the kind that's like a dutch braid that sticks and then I just have to pin one end, but it takes so much time to make it look good. Heehee awww thank you so much lovely!!! You so sWwEEeetTT 😊
I did this look for my driver’s license photo.
That's the way to do it!
Ha nice
Cool! 😎
🤣🤣🤣
I just got my permit yesterday, I WISH I had done this!!!
"And what I like to do so I don't look bald..." Haha, my kind of humor! Thanks for keeping it real--from a fellow "circle face"!
😊😊❤️❤️

Elissa Roberts Right!? It looks way more complicated than it actually is hahaha
This was my go to look in high school, thanks for reminding me that this hairstyle exist 👍
You are absolutely brilliant. My hair it's not long at all... maybe 2 or three inches past my chin, and following your tutorial, I was sort of able to pull this off. My husband said it looked pretty. Thank you!!!!

Hehehe no problem!! I started doing this style when my hair was around that length! 😊
This was great to watch! Thanks for the tutorial! Two whole videos in one week?!? You are spoiling us! I hope you have fun with your friend!!
Abadabadoo Heehee thank you lovely!!! ❤️
Your channel + Paramore references = life.
prickwith guitarpicks 😂😂❤️❤️❤️
I’ve always liked this vintage hairstyle, and always liked it on Princess Leia… 😉 Maybe one of these days I’ll try it!
How simple and lovely! I can see this easily becoming my new "go to" hairdo! Way better than a bun or a ponytail haha
Yess!! It's the best!!
I tried this today to go weight lifting. It. Was. Amazing. No issues with front or back racks and no headache from a high tight bun... just a million bobby pins.

I bought twice as much as I needed this time just to make sure I got the right one! Lol!
Thank you so much! My daughter wants her hair like this for her birthday and this helped me so òuch more than other tutorials.
I've seen this tutorial before but you always know how to make it ur own and crack me up! Loved it!
LifeMeetSteph ❤️❤️❤️😊😊
It helps to pin both braids together using the same pins: while gravity pulls them down in opposite directions, the hold each other together. Also, this uses 50% fewer pins.
Kelly Anne Conley I'll have to try that next time, whenever I've done that, the thickness of my hair just makes the pins pop out 😂
My hair is much longer but thinner, which may be why it works for me.
Her hair color is GLORIOUS✨ 😍😭
I have mashed Morgan’s love for ribbons and this tutorial in order to do my braids. Basically I just did some hair taping afterwards (it’s hard for me because I don’t have a yarn needle)
I really like this during summer because if I do a high pony then it’ll just fall onto my neck because my hair is long :’)

Loved the tutorial! Your personality shines❤
You look adorable!!! 'The milkmaid' was my go to style all summer (my hair is ridiculously long and it was the only way I was able to keep it out of my way and remain cute lol) it's so easy and comfy...
It is wicked comfy!! You forget you even have hair lololol
Just tried this hairstyle after your last video because I loved it so much!! My fave lazy but cute 1940s hair now!
Yay!! It's the best vintage lazy hairstyle hahaha
Your hair looks so much like mine - complete with the patchy red dye. I think I might be able to try this!
I do this style all the time! I'm all about my frida braids with roses all over ☺
Yeeess!!
I love braids and pigtails ❤
Me too! 😊😊
Thanks!
Thank you for the suggestion!! I shower usually every other day, so only end up having my hair curled a couple times a week hehe!
THAT IS. SO CUTE.
and approximately 70000.4% easier than I imagined it would be.
Hahahaha exactly!
I love these!!! They're super cute
Kity_Kat_Chloe And so easy!! ❤️❤️
I can't find my OG comment, but I did these but fishtail style for Thanksgiving. Starting the braid that high up worked much, much better so thanks for the tip!
Aww yay!! ❤️❤️
Thank you so much! I enjoyed your sense of humor as well as the instruction and I am looking forward to trying the braid.
I have watched your instructions verrrrry carefully! I'm going to do this hair style, tomorrow! I hope it looks as good as yours did, or I swear I shall cry! lol! I love your how-to videos! ~Janet in Canada 🥰😍😘
You're hilarious and this is a super cute hairstyle which is achievable for a hair simpleton like myself. 😍
Hi, can I please say that you are absolutely HILARIOUS. Your tutorials always make me (literally no lie) LOL thank you
I love this video! I always watch this channel when I can during school to help calm down or smile cause this channel is amazing. ❤️
Awww yay that makes me happy!
We love your 50 shades of red! Thank you so much for your video
Νικολέτα Ελισάβετ Αρταβάνη ❤️❤️❤️😊
Have been looking for something like this for AGES!!!! Loved it, everything seems so simple now!!!! :) x

Im shook i didn't realise how long your has gotten, it is like when @idacath on instagram showed her hair without pin curls and it was so long i was like wowza, just gawgeous 💕
KittyKat Novak Right?! I didn't realize either until I looked in the mirror one day was like 'oh SHIIIT where'd that come from?!' 😂😂
I was watching Lolita (the 90's one) the other day and I thought whoooo does the actress remind me of and it was you! Then you went and put this tutorial up of the braids she wore in the film. Coincidence?! I THINK NOT.
Hahahaha CONSPIRACY!
Madame! Cette coiffure vous sied à ravir!
Nota bene: Never miss the bloopers, you're so funny!
😊😊😊
I used to wear this hairstyle A LOT before I cut my hair. I had the same experience: "WHAT? It's that easy? No way!" xD You look great with it! :)
Hahaha exactly!!! Thank you love!! 😊
Unprofessional my butt! I think it looks adorable! Hahaha ignore the weenies! ❤️
Very cute and easy look! Have fun with your fraaand! I my hair is so thick that two crosses of a braid and I out of hair, but I have a few friends I'd love to try this on!
Thank you love!!!
This hairstyle is what I did for my prom! Though my hair was waist length so I wrapped the braids all around my head.
Princess Gabrielle Omg that sounds so beautiful! ❤️
I love the way you talk! It's actually relaxing and not over enthusiastic like most other TH-camrs 😅😅.
Awww hehehe thank you!! ❤️
Hehe I recreated this look today and got many compliments and people couldn't believe it was actually so easy to do! And that is thanks to you! :D ♡
Mystikaru Heehee aw yay!!! 😊😊
This is neat. Thanks for the tutorial for some reason I always thought it was super complicated like a french braid or something.
OMG! I think that I could actually accomplish that one. I can only make basic side braids successfully. I can’t French braid at all and I like my hair up. Thanks!
Hehehe you can do it!!
omg i dont think i've ever seen you with your hair down 0: you look lovely in all styles
also, i have short af hair, i'm not totally sure why i'm watching this, but i'm enjoying it
Winslow Baril Heehee I'm glad you could enjoy it anyways!! 😊❤️

Milk braids are amazing on you!!!!!
It looks pretty cute even with my curly layered hair 😊
This hairstyle on you is so adorable 😊 love it!
Thank you so so much lovely!! ❤️❤️

Well hot dang that looked easy! I need to try that because I'm tired of ponytails and feeling like I'm gonna pull my scalp off😂 and that lipstick shade thoooo. Looks amazing on you 😊
Hahaha it is super easy! Thank you love! It's "Fabulous" by Milani!
Aaah gurll this was fast of you to upload. Thank god. I thought it was more complicated 😂. You are a life saver. 😍

Your red is ombre-ing! 😂 Love it though, and yay for this!! Makes me want to grow out my hair again! 💓
so stoked Hahaha we'll just pretend it's in purpose 😂❤️ Thank you lovely!!
Nice. When I had long hair I pinned my braids with decorated Bobby pins. My favorite ones had butterflies. :)
THERESA DONAGHY I should totally think of getting actually pretty bobby pins 😂 Mine are so boring!
This looks so good on you!
Thank you so much love!!!
Love it! Just saved to my favorites. Going to try it on my little girl!!! 💋❤️
Oh my gosh this would be so adorable on a kiddo!

Great! This is super helpful. Definitely giving this a try.
How are you so cute? I love this hairstyle on you, I'm looking for some cute short hairstyles that are more vintage like Marilyn she had such cute short hair. Nooo YOOOU so cute, hehehe.
This is soo cute! I hope it works with my longer hair
I'm sure it will!! ❤️
Dude, you rock. This is great!!! Thanks so much!
i love the 50's and i would wear it to school but i'm scared that people would judge me so much.
xD i am fine wearing it out at like a mall but idk XD
If it makes you happy you should totally just do it! Who cares what the weenies think 😂😂
Do it girl!
IKR I’m too afraid to go to school because I’m known by my friends as the tomboy
Gotta love the "When your locks don't give a fak but you wanna style it still" hair dos. Very cute.
Hahaha exactly! 😊
gosh darnit you're pretty :*
kilimimaro Ahhh you're too sweet 😭❤️
Just the other day I was combing through youtube to find a tutorial like this, just because I had seen you wearing the hairstyle! It's like you read my mind hehe :'D Love it!
Hehehe Maybe I diiiiidd!!! Thank you love!!!
You are literally the red headed version of me haha! Love this!
Ah I adore this hairstyle so much! But unfortunately I have to wait about a year for my hair to be long enough... oh the tragedy. Once again a lovely video!
Julia Thank you so much my love!! ❤️❤️
I gotta try this soon! Have tried it before, but with no success. I might need to let my hair grow a bit, but will sure keep practicing. You sure do look pretty with those braids, girly 😊
Yay!!! I've been doing these since my hair was a little but past my chin so hopefully it works for ya!! You just might need a few more pins hehehe
The Pinup Companion Yes! Lots and lots of pins. And patience. Lots and lots of patience. 😋
Thanks for the tutorial! It inspired me to try soooomething along that line with my hair today (althoug it's still too short to not look completely 'xplodey), and I'll surely try again once my hair is longer.
I hope you have a great weekend with your friend, lovely!
Hedgefairy Hahaha omg "xplodey" I love it 😂❤️ Yayy! 😊
Got really excited to try this and remembered I got a pixie cut this weekend... yeah I need to get used to it.
Mega Margaux Heehee but pixie cuts are amazing so it's all good 😊
I've been living in these braids all summer, except yours look way cuter! I think my layers make bits spike out and I just tried to hide that with wild flowers 😂🌿
They're the BEST summer style, hahaha. Omg adding flowers is such a good idea!
Cant wait to try on this style super cute!!! 💙💚
Mia Valentine Yay!! 😊❤️
Aaah thank you!!! I love them!
Jenna Curlee Thank YOU! ❤️😊
