  • *NOTE: this footage was recorded in 2.5.4; in 2.5.5 JDAMs have increased range. Gameplay should still be unaffected however.
This campaign revolves around two A-10C stolen by the Russians, and is used for testing, evaluation, and later in combat. Originally made for Russian local language, but is subtitled for English. This is a trimmed playthrough, and will only show key events, mission dialogues, aircraft systems setups, and particular tasks for the missions.
A rather interesting, if somewhat bland, nighttime operation. The mission is simple: destroy a predesignated chemical plant by flying a preplanned route. Having to avoid radar detection meant flying Nap-of-the-earth (NOTE) with NVGs and Radar Altimeter tape only. While the mission itself is pretty uneventful, there were a couple of steep valleys along the route where the underpowered A-10 may struggle. As long as you stay low, fast, and follow the waypoints, you should easily complete this mission. Being able to customize your MFDs, IFFC, and others can be handy, but is not mission-critical.
The Georgians did attempt an intercept after we destroyed the plant, but friendly Flankers promptly took them down.
    Some tips for this mission:
    - Familiarize usage of NVGs (RShift + H)
    - Adjust cockpit lights/settings to suit your eyes
    - IFFCC menu to display RDRALT tape and Adjust altitude Alert setting
    - Set MFD with TAD on different ranges to help navigate waypoints
    - Stay low, fly below each waypoint to avoid mission failure
    - Keep high airspeed at all times to help climb over steep valleys
Note that CDU LASTE data is not required in this mission (only JDAMs are used)

it may be because they've updated the lighting since this video was made, but i can barely see the tops of the hills with night vision goggles on, but in your video you can clearly see trees, etc. Any idea why I'm not seeing what you're seeing?

Can confirm, I cannot see the trees right now either. The only solution I can think of is manual changing the mission file to set a date when there's some moonlight, which if I recall correctly was present when I did the run

Assuming Google translated this correctly, well what do you expect when looking through NVGs? You can't just magically have a wide field of view by looking through what is essentially a tube lol.

@@piketchupwarthog3574 Even with a narrow field of view, you are good at flying. This was what I said. I wrote it in Hangul because I couldn't reply. Thank you for your reply. I also turn the translator and reply in English XD
