  • Let this be a lesson for those who claim the DCS version of A-10C cannot kill tanks with its gun.

He only had to do it once to prove the point. Took him 30 seconds.
Instead he does it for nearly six minutes just to flex.
    Impressive.

Thank you. Just make sure not to oush your luck any deeper, break off at 0.5 nmi or you'll take ground fire (or worse, splat into the ground). Good luck, and happy BRRRRRTT-ing!

Sadly no, and I'm not quite settled at where I live and work yet. Once things become less hectic then I'll look into it.

Note your G...Above 10. Although you've killed the T90 - you probably broke a wing or damaged the plane :)

Totally agree, the attack profile is dangerous and unrealistic, but is doable and seem to have no harm to the A-10 in DCS. Indeed the extreme high-G is only to avoid getting shot by ground fire, you can pull out with only 7G if no one is shooting back. Point of the video though is to prove to people that the GAU-8 in DCS is capable of killing tanks, you just need to perform the right technique.

On second review, only that first attack run was pulled hard. Subsequent runs peak at 6.6, 7.1, and 7.3 G respectively. So it is in fact not as dangerous as I thought...

@@piketchupwarthog3574 I would pull this kind of G's only with empty wings. If you over G the TER/LAU-88 you can break them. Never noticed it somehow simulated in DCS (in comparison to the F-14 where you'll stay without wings :) )

@@MrEfoefi true, I would personally *never* go guns on a tank unless I have to, and if I ever got in that situation it would be of my own fault. My missiles and bombs should be prioritized on tanks first (after the SAMs are dead, of course), as APC and AAA can be dispatched with guns (that's another whole attack profile in itself too though). If I had to gun a tank, my stores should be almost empty

Undoubtedly, but you better not be the one to fail when you're down to guns. Always be prepared for anything.
