Hey Mike. I think you mentioned ‘Jayco Crosstrak’ 21 times but that consisting of 3 x ‘Jayco’ (alone) and 4 x ‘Crosstrak’ (alone) and hence the remaining 14 x the full ‘Jayco Crosstrak’ … I love your new long sleeve shirts 😉 Apart from that, it’s pretty average of Jayco to not include plenty of 12V sockets inside your caravan. The good news is that they’re pretty easy to install yourself given that you’ve at least got USB charge points installed. Make sure you feed that back to them including any issues you find with your caravan. For all the hype and marketing and testing that Jayco undoubtedly do on their caravans, you’d think they’d at least get that right. Also, I highly recommend you consider installing: a) a Topargee Water Flow Meter (Bluetooth and van battery connected) for accurate water usage monitoring; b) a (garden) hose connected water flow meter (Hortico make one) for accurate water input into your ‘Jayco Crosstrak’; c) Enviro Water Saver to divert the cold water back to your water tank until your hot water reaches normal operating temperature (would otherwise be wasted going straight to your grey water tank); d) an additional LiFePO4 battery (increasing your battery capacity to 360Ah??); e) ensuring you have roughly double your battery capacity in solar panels (fixed panels and/or portable panels); f) a ‘changeover switch’ to give you the option of running your aircon (heating & cooling) - for a little while (talk to your man Dan about it); g) a 3000W iTechworld inverter (with remote switch) to allow you to run your aircon as well as any power hungry electrical appliances you might have; and h) a good quality 100-120L rear footwell water bladder (including a pump and filtration system) to allow you to ferry water to your ‘Jayco Crosstrak’ from a reliable water source. That’s quite a list (and expense) I know but I think it’ll make your offgrid experiences a bit easier and longer … at least it has for me and my family 🤘
Thanks mate. That is great info and advise, appreciate it. Yes I'll make that list and slowly work thru it. Yes Dan the man has already installed 2x extra cig sockets for me 😁👍
@@prado150outahere No worries Mike. Make sure you also install a circuit breaker with your changeover switch but I'm sure 'Dan the Man' will sort that out. Please note however that the installation of the switch, circuit breaker and inverter is all 240V gear so I'm not sure that is still within Dan's electrical licensing limitations I also highly recommend installing 12mm water pipe (the same stuff commonly used in caravan water systems) within both chassis rails of your Prado to allow you to neutralise and flush salt and sand after any beach camping. Simply cut two lengths of sufficient length pipe (my Prado was 5.5m so your should be the same) and block of one end with a tight fitting bolt and drill a series of small holes along the length of the tube then run that along the inside of your chassis rails until it reaches the from of the chassis. At the other end of the tube, connect a few John Guest adapters (T-Piece, garden hose quick connect/disconnect, etc.) such that it gives you the ability to directly connect your garden hose from the rear of your vehicle to allow flushing. I can take a few picks of my setup and forward them to you on Patreon if you like. It's dead easy to do and works an absolute treat!!🤘
Oh you guys are the funniest and the best! Your excitement over the van is so contagious! We loved watching this ep. f) a ‘changeover switch’ to give you the option of running your aircon (heating & cooling) - for a little while (talk to your man Dan about it);

How did the electric heater go?? And the electric blanket ???
Electric blanket, awesome! Highly rate it! Electric heater, took the edge off the crispy coldness, however I'd go with the blanket 👍
