Chanting DEFENSE before the introduction... That's the 90s toughness that is so far in the rear view mirror..sadly. But what a time and I'm thankful to been apart of that era.
yup, so glad to have seen this first hand too. love watching the old intro's... I'd rather watch a Knicks game from 94 or 95 than a current one.. Went to Knicks games in the 90s, and went to one in 2017...just wasn't the same...
it's sad seeing that image of the Twin Towers in the first moment of this clip....but I LOVE the rest of it... will never get enough of these old openings
We also need to bring back someone like Pat Riley, John Starks, Charles Oakley, Patrick Ewing because they ain't coming thought that door any time soon
uh yeah...went to games in the 90s saw this intro, and later on they used the ODB mariah fantasy "new york in the house.." in 2017 when I went the last time, they used RTJ legend has it...just not the same, not as good a team, not the excitement, just fell flat for me
This New York Knicks era actually mirrors the Detroit Tigers' era of 2006-2014. 2 World series appearances, numerous playoff berths, and super stars who couldn't quite get it done, but great teams and players nonetheless. The Knicks played in several Conference Finals series, winning then in 1994 and 1999, and were stalwarts. The Tigers made it to 4 ALCS, winning 2. (I think the Knicks made it to 4 ECF, winning 2 as well). Very scary how similar the success levels of these teams, over a similar time span, was.
The loss to the rockets in the finals the year prior hurt. As a 15 year old, 1995 was my first full season watching every Knick game and really becoming a NYK fan for life. I was fortunate enough to go to game one against the pacers and the garden was electric! Soon the cheers became gasps after Reggie miller “the rat”, as my mom would call him pulled off 8 points in 8.9 secs to ruin the win. I always thought the Knicks would be them and ultimately go back to the finals after only Orlando stood in the way and get revenge on the Rockets. However, the worst pain I ever felt in all my 45 years was in this game 7. Watching it on TV, I had to turn away and started to cry. It was so painful, I just couldn’t express how it felt to me. It’s been a long time coming, now 30 years since they made the finals but I have always continued to be a Knick fan for life.
if the Knicks finally get back to the playoff this year, we should have played this theme. Imagine this: at froward 6-8 from Kentucky, Number 30, Julius Randleeee! it will be amazing!!!
The NBA all stars avoiding the Knicks is not because of ownership, it's because they don't have heart to compete in the garden and accept the challenge of being a knick. Much respect to carmello and Amare.
This is 90's basketball. Chanting defense to start the game is an Era I love, but don't think we'll get back to with everyone including centers now shooting 3's 😢
God this is so sad watching the intro and knowing the final score. Imagine if Riley won the power struggle and got part ownership instead of getting that in Miami… 28 years and counting

Ewing misses a game tying shot in the final seconds of the game as the Pacers defeat the Knickerbockers 4 games to 3 in the eastern conference semifinals to face Orlando in the Eastern conference finals
Mike Beckmann he’s right because the following year the Bulls record was 72-10. This game here was the first of the Knicks getting eliminated in the 2nd round 4 consecutive times. 1995 by Indiana 4-3 1996 by Chicago 4-1 1997 by Miami 4-3 1998 by Indiana 4-1

Love those times. Knicks games were the best at the Garden.
Defense chants before the game starts the memories

Harden would be averaging well over 40 in that weak era.
Hardcore fans back in the 90s!

I can’t stress this enough. We need this intro for 2021 playoffs.
This was the only sports game that I ever cried from. I was 14 years old.
This still gives me chills
Let's start a petition and bring this intro back!
The mother lovin MECCA. We need another warrior like you Patrick.
We need to go back to this intro that was the New York Knicks culture 💪🏻
"#3 John Starks!" This always got it going. Love the 1990's Knicks
2 things, (1)bring back those home warm up suits and (2)for the love of god bring back that intro song. The garden hasnt felt the same since.

Bring back the players too! Management keeps rotating cupcakes on & off the NYK roster for the last 25+ years
May 14, 1995. Game 7 of the 1995 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals. Indiana Pacers @ New York Knicks. Man what a game.
RIP Mase
I got his autograph on a bball card in Belmar NJ during his play at summer league. I can't find it anymore though..
NBA was so much better back then omg. The black shoes and shaved heads for Knicks Playoffs! Miss those times
I've always loved the intro song!
The all time single most devastating sports loss i ever had was this game
It was Game 7
For me it was 1993 game 5 vs the Bulls. Charles Smith nuff said
Same here. I remember my college room took a beating after this game
@@HH__09 i dont blame you

Lou Santo: Great analogy. Both teams had great coaches/managers as well. The Tigers had Jim Leyland. The Knicks had Pat Riley and Jeff Van Gundy.
Please bring back these intros let's start a movement 😊
Thanks for the audio quality I can hear us new yorkers
The real Knicks, real Knicks fans in attendance, DEFENSE CHANTS BEFORE THE GAME START!
HARDCORE FANS FROM THE 90s! 🔥
Now are all posers and celebrities
Man I miss the shit out of the old Garden. The real gritty New Yorkers, toughness, grind it our. Not these soft tourists and out of towners
💯💪🏿
The playoffs last year was a classic knick crowd, loud, aggressive and supportive
The 2023 Knicks are trying to bring it back to those days. They're even facing the Miami Heat in the second round like back in the days
@@georgediaz5522Yup! After over 20 years - I am finally getting back into these Knicks!

It's 2023 And the Knicks are in the Eastern Conference Semi-finals against the Miami Heat. This is what should be playing.
Here we go again
The NBA all stars avoiding the Knicks is not because of ownership, it's because they don't have heart to compete in the garden and accept the challenge of being a knick. Much respect to carmello and Amare.
Not true, but I see what you’re saying.
Back in the 1990s, when the Knicks were fighting for Eastern Conference supremacy every year.
CHILLS!!!
Those were the days…..I love the PA announcer for the Knicks and he still brings the same energy and all but the I wish they can use this song still……
Oracle arena aint got shit on the garden. That defense chant BEFORE tip is intimidating as shit.
And here we are again, 29 years later.
And now a game 7. Revenge for 95 on the table…
It’s 2021 Time for this to return back to Madison Square Garden!
Houston New York love those days
When they all wore sweatsuits before the games.
This is 90's basketball. Chanting defense to start the game is an Era I love, but don't think we'll get back to with everyone including centers now shooting 3's 😢

Great intro. And yes i imagined my named was being called too.
Such a waste of a team back then
The aesthetic of Madison Square Garden would change after the 1994-95 Season.
I THINK THIS WAS ON MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND 1995
God this is so sad watching the intro and knowing the final score.

The NBA of the 90s will never be the same 😢❤
Did any of you say to yourself that this would be Riley's last game with the Knicks if they lost. Which they did.
