The purest shooter I have ever seen. I remember when he was making a come back after retiring ...he was documented hitting 98 out of a 100 3pointers ....could u imagine a player like this in today's game?
He was super hard to guard because he wasnt only a jump shooter, he could drive by you due to opposing player respecting the jumper and playing tight, such agreat Knick and really enjoyed watching him play here.
they used to look for a second star next to ewing and i shall say he is it. too bad injuries took the toll on both of them and they havent played as much together
If NY had a great backup center they would have had a better chance at winning the 1999 Championship. Chris Dudley was a bum. Allan Houston should have made more All-Star teams. Nobody was shooting the ball better than him during the 02-03 season.
Marcus Camby needed more mins that year. Him and Spree were starting to come along towards the end of the season and he was like Birdman off the bench.
Can we PLEASE!!!!stop comparing Quentin Grimes to This man??????? It's disrespect. and I love Grimes.. He's just more of a Bench player, then an Allan Houston starting 2 guard..
Why couldn't we have had a healthy Houston, sprewel obviously Ewing, LJ, camby starks Harper and you know the rest....why? All at once and healthy. We could've taken one from the Rockets and spurs
@@whataboutrob442Oakley was aging and against Indiana was overmatched. Camby outplayed the entire Indiana front court in 99 despite a disappointing regular season he performed well especially after Ewing got hurt
@Smoothcoolbreezy1989 I would have to go back and watch the 1998 semi-finals against the Pacers, because I don't ever remember Oakley being the problem, but he was really old by 1998.
That bounce play shot earned Houston an undeserving $100 million contract. Where are the no look turnover passes on this highlight video? Don't get me wrong, I liked Houston, but I wished he had more of a killer instinct in his prime. He averaged 20, but probably could have averaged 25-30. He had the talent.
one of the most underrated shooting guards in NBA
Allan was such an unselfish player
Anyone else notice that players back then were more memorable and had much more moxy.
That run gave me chills. It was like winning a championship.
Except they didn't.
If they were a baseball team, they would have won because you only need to win 3 series

My favorite Knick of all time 😢

From Texas the 1999 Knicks are my favorite team ever
they used to look for a second star next to ewing and i shall say he is it. too bad injuries took the toll on both of them and they havent played as much together
The spurs had a superteam it wasn’t even a fair series. Houston was the heart and soul of the Knicks between the late 90s to mid 00s.
BiGBluERuLes100 I don’t know why you gotta be an ass
Spurs had a super team? How?
Can't believe he was only a 2 time all-star. Should have been at least 6
Allan will average 30 pts today easily.
No he wouldn't. The Knicks never stood a chance. They were lucky to even get to the Finals. That Pacers series was questionable.
@@RobbieStacks90 im talking about todays NBA if his playing his prime.

Let's go new York Knicks
Houston was the kind of athlete and person I wanted to be
100%!!! I tried to model so much about his game and the way he carried himself. True class.

At least 5 , He was so nice, If he had those allstar, he probably would of been a 1st ballot hall of famer
Kurt Thomas was nothing to sleep on
from 90-2000, the Knicks bench was so deep, at certain times over that decade 20 people could come off the bench and put down 30 plus points...
Legend
Great guy fr
The 99 Knicks team would easily be a titles contender in today's NBA. Clearly better than the Tatum Brown and Horford
Think if Ewing didn't get hurt Knicks would have won
No it wouldn't. Not even close.
The rare player who could average 20ppg while playing with Patrick Ewing
Marcus Camby needed more mins that year. Him and Spree were starting to come along towards the end of the season and he was like Birdman off the bench.
Letting Camby go was one of the biggest mistakes the Knicks made back then. what a disaster the old Knicks and management was.
One of the sexiest jump shot in basketball history 😂

what knd of knicks jersey is that @ 2:54 mark does anyone know

Who’s here after the 8 seed Heat made the finals ?
Screw the Heat. Best part of the late 90s was Riley getting his a** kicked 3/4 times by the Knicks.
@@whataboutrob442 Knicks still didn’t win a ring though.
@@RYMAN1321 Unfortunately. But that Riley hate runs deep with Knicks fans from the 90s.
Trading Oakley for Camby was a mistake
No way we make that run without Camby. Trust me, Oakley was my favorite player but once I saw what Camby was capable of it eased the pain a bit.

I was a fan of Houston, but even I thought they overpaid him on that $100 million dollar contract. It turned out to be a bad investment longterm.

After Latrell Spreewell, Houston is my favorite Knick, but he didn’t do much outside if scoring. GMs mostly remember him as a one dimensional player.
