Wow, what a time to be alive. Next you’ll be telling me we’ll be getting figures of Flame and Xaaron, along with a Transformers film that’s actually good, haha. 😐
I always wondered if Straxus somehow influenced Galvatron's alt mode, because they're pretty dang similar. Legit surprised it took this long for a Galvatron mold to be turned into the Pickaxe Prick.
I’ve searched to see whether you’d ever posted a video on straxus and was gonna ask whether you were going to, so congrats on being telepathic and catering to my every whim _[edit]_ gonna throw another suggestion on the pile for you to check out Starcom, that line was rad as hell
I got this lad the other day and do love it. Haven't transformed it much. I just kinda like posing him up with Jhiaxus and that Death's Head figure they did recently.
That Power Sword Pointer™ always cracks me up 😂 Great review as always Gav! I loved the Galvatron toy and I'm super surprised they could use it again for another character and have it work so well! Probably because of that perfect head sculpt!
Haven't taken mine out the box yet, but even as it's still in there, it's still a sight to behold. Getting a Straxus after so long is definitely a thing we wanted. I keep thinking we'd only get Scrounge if they packed him with a Comics Blaster, but I do wonder who else they'll make next.
Always great to hear your clever words about a toy I may or may not buy. I don't know if I'll buy Straxus, but perhaps I'll use that money to get my hands on some of the UK comics.
I remember that comic, but never read it. I know NOTHING about this character. I thought he was just a one off, nothing gained character. Still, he's a good looking toy. Once again, Great review.
If they're doing Marvel comics guys they really should do comics edition Blaster, Bee, and Scrounge for their extremely sizable arcs in the comics. Maybe pack in Grand Slam and Raindance with Blaster with Blaster as a nod towards Underbase saga.
1:39 Where were you able to find this information on the origins of Straxus’s name I can’t find any information backing this up I’m assuming it’s in a comic you’ve read or Podcast Bob was in
The Triple Takeover lads had a lot of good things to say about Starcom in their podcast episode but there's precious little footage of the toys in action. I had to go to some French guy's review of one of the playsets to see what any of it was about. A Gav review of even a single Starcom toy would be a genuine public service! Oh right Straxus is neat too.
this guys just great. i had the darkmount fig they did for one of the bay movies but he was always too spindly for the character. this lad is full on chunky goodness and its mental just how WELL the galvatron mold suits him. you'd nearly belive galvy was a retool of him. with this an jhiaxus its a golden age for us comic fans , hell i even picked up that deaths head fig they released. with luck we'll get MORE characters from the comicverse. personally i want a decent Rack'n'Ruin to flesh out the wreckers team im building.
This was my highly anticapated TF toy of this year when it was first reveal back in May! Thing is I never read the comic he was in! He has sentamental valued to me cos the Generation "Darkmount" was "somewhat" my first TF in my collection! Somewhat as in stop buying them since early 00's. As for the figure himself, he is everything I dream of when it come to more accurate Straxus! Wished he had abit more budget to be finetune some more as you already mention the thighs. I mean he could have done with panel covering to cover the forearm, pin on the fingers so he can open and close and possibly an slider on the bottom part of the cannon. Just moving the slider toward the canon top reveal a peg to make him blast effect compactible!
@@TRDQokay seeing American people review this guy is one thing but now seeing English/Scottish/British people get this guy is now giving me dick cancer so mate tell me where the bloody heck did you get this guy? Also great review as usual!!
I just had a lucid dream about Starcom toys the other day, which then made me wake up and do some eBay shopping. I dislike how they can project advertisements into our dreams but at least I’m seeing things from 30-40 years ago lol
Wow, I sometimes have dreams about finding Transformers I've never seen before, in stores I've never been to. The toys are cool, and so are the shops, architecturally, but then I wake up.
At 2:57 you can't expect Hasbro, or even Takara, to understand trans-dimensional engineering: th-cam.com/video/pvnKXOGYKM8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2HFF9YlVj1M-9wJY

Huh, I didn't know Bob Budiansky was Australian. Thank you for this knowledge, I won't look this up or question it further.
1:49 Was so pleased you gave him his proper title _Lord_Straxus, kinda wish they had put that on the box
Alternate history: Straxus got his name because it’s “Sux Arts” spelled backwards. 😂
When will Hasbro finally account for damned shelves? It's disgusting really.
Been waiting for this fella for 40 years. He does not disappoint! What a lovely rapscallion.

Given Straxus finally got a proper toy after the deluxe from over a decade ago, one can only hope Thunderwing will get his due as well
@@mattr75 this is a dream of mine too
0:30 hunted for sport by toys? Like, the Barbie dolls taking down the side character in Small Soldiers?

Gavin, don't be ridiculous. Straxus doesn't get taller when you put him on that shelf, you can clearly see he's shrinking.
It took me a while to understand the science too

I still have that comic featuring Lord Straxus and brilliant review on Lord Straxus!
Please. Don’t ever become “red triangle” guy. We’ve plenty of those channels.
Always great to hear your clever words about a toy I may or may not buy.
I don't know if I'll buy Straxus, but perhaps I'll use that money to get my hands on some of the UK comics.
Starcom it's brilliant. It reminds me of Diaclone, with the little figures worth magnetic feet and the motorised actions.
I remember that comic, but never read it. I know NOTHING about this character. I thought he was just a one off, nothing gained character. Still, he's a good looking toy.
Once again, Great review.
Best I can describe him is SatAM Robotnik with a pickaxe
did I already ask if Origami counts as a transformer? Like it transforms from a picture of a robot into a crane perhaps
It's a fun idea!

I'm sure Bob said this at TFNation.
00:02:40. This should not be funny, and it clearly isn't by any standards. So why am I finding myself on the floor.
It means you're stupid now, sorry.

They are surely going to do a comic deco Blaster with a Rewind retool as Scrounge next

Next comic book character they need to make is Ironfist. I can also see you buying Blue G2 Grimlock in your near futute.
I’ve never spent too much time on the marvel comics but I’ve been thinking about grabbing Straxus, but alas, no space.
Does Straxus have any holes/ports that fossilizers and Infernac Armorizers will fit in?
Sure!
@@TRDQ Good. I mean, he has a pickaxe, so minerals and fossils.
