It's amazing how Lightspeed can be so sleek in vehicle mode but have the body of a middle aged pub going dad in robot mode. Truly he should be the base form for a Transformers X Jeremy Clarkson figure.
It was always so weird that the Technobots have war freak personalities (except for Nosecone). You'd think they'd be scholars but, nope, they want to watch things explode. Must be cuz they're made with Unicron parts. And Grimlock's stubby dino arms, hehe Afterburner really does have a fun cycle mode. I played with him for hours, rolling all over the place.
This is my first time actually seeing these guys on video and not in one of the tiny TF wiki pics and I got to say, Scattershot looks incredible. The sculpting, the really interesting transformation where his legs fold up around the sides of his chest, the colors etc. I always felt compatron as a combiner was kind of like, fine, real middle of the pack, but im really in to Scattershot now. Also as always a great laugh to be had, always a joy to get called names by a youtuber lol
I absolutely LOVE the Technobots. Each and every one of them I played with for hours and hours as a kid. Still love them. When MAKETOYS came out with their QUANTRON version of them, I spent the full $400 for the set.... TWICE. The second set I bought when I was very very drunk one night. (And I see a lot of you nodding in recognition here....)
Y’know, everyone always thanks Gavin when he puts out a video, but I say no. Upload two videos that are exactly the same. We’ll watch both of them. Trust me.
I think the technobots are my favorite autobot combiner team and possible top three overall. As a kid, I only had Afterburner. Which may have been my last transformer toy as a kid before other things caught my fickle attention.
Great review Mister Spence. Still have my childhood Scattershot and Afterburner. Afterburner is still one of my favourite G1 figures and still my favourite motorcycle mode in the franchise.
I truly enjoyed this video just as I have every single one of your past creations, by myself, in the dark, eating a sugary snack whilst sitting in my pants
1:40 I will not shut it, as an outraged fan I demand you link me to these knockoffs so I may do my best to take them down and not to purchase any of them.
Though I wasn't around for G1 at the time, I used to be able to watch the show on Netflix when I was younger, and I remember discovering these guys on their debut episode and loving the concept and character of this futuristic computer combiner and his abominable counterpart. Fast forward to Combiner Wars, and while I couldn't get them some of the design changes like a monotone face mask and the fact that Computron was even available, further my love for the character. I would love to see the Technobots revisited in some future Transformers show or movie, there's a lot of cool stuff that could be done with them.
My most-beloved combiner set as a kid. I played with Afterburner so much I practically eroded him to nothing. I have a photo of myself at, like, 8 years old eating breakfast, and Lightspeed is right next to me nibbling my toast. All that, and I had no %@&$&ing idea the chestplate could connect to the spaceship mode. [head explodes]
I had the original G1 Technobots. I loved them. Against my Terrorcons, he was fantastic. But my fun didn't end there. I LOVED Scattershot's spaceship so much, he was my Liberator when I played Blake's 7. Yes, I am that old.
If you're still planning to go through with it, I highly recommend the Unite Warriors version. I really love what they did for Strafe and Nosecone over their CW counterparts.
Back in the day (back in like, 2007), I went to Walgreens and got 3 bootlegs, the center jet of the Breastforce, Lightspeed, and Strafe. Only one of the bootlegs that still survives (as far as I can remember) was Strafe. I enjoy the mold, even if I didn't know it was a combiner back in the day, poor plastic and all.
Im still kinda beefing with Hasbro super quietly (they have no idea) because i couldn't get a CW Computron set (unless i wanted to drop 500 bones-ish) and i want a damn Computron roar
YES. They are officially The Best Ones. I now dearly wish I'd just bought one of those knockoff sets instead of trying to assemble my own from G1 auctions on eBay.
Definitely not my favourite combiner either but there is still so much to enjoy from those G1 toys, just the orange plastic is enough to give me a nice feeling.
I normally hate motorcycle Transformers but Afterburner was amazing. Actually, all the Technobots were pretty cool, except Lightspeed. A drill machine, two spaceships, a Tron cycle, and what, a Nissan Sentra? He just doesn’t fit.
OMG, Gavin forgot the chestplate, he is the worst content creator ever, I'm so unsubbing... Is what someone who likes to complain would say, me though, I don't really care

With Energon Prime out there?
@@thedeadpoolwhochuckles.6852 he's a truck though. You expect a certain amount of beer gut from that sort of alt mode.
He really does go from Lightspeed to Lightspud, doesn't he?
And on that bombshell...
@@daverage4729 it's Lightspeed, not bombshell. What are ye like!

Afterburner is a TRON Lightcycle and you'll never convince me otherwise.

I really love Nosecone, and I have no real idea why. Something about him just works for me

Thanks for releasing this video like a week after Computron's most FAMOUS voice Actor MatPat announced he was quiting TH-cam
I do quite like that Afterburner’s vehicle mode looks like something you would have to drive in an INFURIATINGLY hard Ratchet & Clank minigame
Y’know, everyone always thanks Gavin when he puts out a video, but I say no. Upload two videos that are exactly the same. We’ll watch both of them. Trust me.
Thank you Gav for another video with the perfect length to watch during my toilet break
I think the technobots are my favorite autobot combiner team and possible top three overall. As a kid, I only had Afterburner. Which may have been my last transformer toy as a kid before other things caught my fickle attention.
Hoe to get free engagement: show the combined mode chest piece but not attach it, even in the very end when you put the toy on the shelf
That 1970 review really got me on board with the nerd bots.
I never realised how much Afterburners Bike mode resembles the Bumblebee movie Arcee's toy Bike mode
IT looks almost intentional side by side??
Great review Mister Spence. Still have my childhood Scattershot and Afterburner. Afterburner is still one of my favourite G1 figures and still my favourite motorcycle mode in the franchise.
I love how this is written like how my uni lectures are spoken (my lecturer is funny)
I truly enjoyed this video just as I have every single one of your past creations, by myself, in the dark, eating a sugary snack whilst sitting in my pants
My original Scattershot has a whitish pink color on the arm and torso as well so the colors on the 4th party one is spot on.
I've always been curious about these techno boys. They seem more interesting, design wise, than most other combiners

The Technobots are my favorite G1 combiners. I had three of the five when I was a kid. I got Scattershot and Strafe as an adult.
My most-beloved combiner set as a kid. I played with Afterburner so much I practically eroded him to nothing. I have a photo of myself at, like, 8 years old eating breakfast, and Lightspeed is right next to me nibbling my toast.

4:31 you went there 😂
This set feels like what would happen if transformers released in 1975.
needs Avocado green and Harvest Orange.
Not enough velour.

I was tempted to get the Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors Technobots set a few times, but never got it.
If you're still planning to go through with it, I highly recommend the Unite Warriors version. I really love what they did for Strafe and Nosecone over their CW counterparts.
Computron is my favorite combiner. I really love them individually too . Lightspeed has a black uzi .
I seen someone swap the limbs with glacialord and the colors matched well. I have glacialord would love to get this set to try it out.
Scattershot's arms are like that so that he can sing, "I'm a little teapot".
PS you left off Computron's armour! 😉

Computron’s internal processes are Nosecone and Lightspeed having a chat while the other three just shut up for a while.
Strafe was my first Transformer back in the days.
I have a few og g1 transformers and 3 of these for some reason
Someone in a game was asking if looking uncool with shades was possible. He should’ve thought of Computron!
Im still kinda beefing with Hasbro super quietly (they have no idea) because i couldn't get a CW Computron set (unless i wanted to drop 500 bones-ish) and i want a damn Computron

Smart looking lads, one could say.
The description is funnier the earlier in the day you see it.
Love the review trdq however I was just wondering why you didn't attach the chest piece on Computron?
It was a really clever way to get comments (I forgot)
Only Gavin would include the chest piece in the vehicle mode, but not the combined mode XD
"Size DOES matter." - Computron
Oh no! I already forgot about Scattershot's acid pellet rifle! What do I do????
give an owl a jif lemon and sit back for a trip down memory lane
Oh, I never knew that Scattershot had an asymmetrical transformation. I mean, it's not like the cartoon would ever have told me the truth of it. :)

I kinda love these nerds tbh.
5:13 Careful you'll go blind doing that
ooh, I do not like how Scattershot's lower legs stick out of the combined mode's legs...
do you guys think Computron has enough processing power to paly lategame modded stellaris ?
Hope you're having a good day
Hello Gavin
You forgot computron's paw patrol dogs when talking about his accesories
Hello Lex
Aaagh you're right!
I like Superion!
Why did you not put on the brest plate for computron?
Couldn't be bothered
Gavin, my shining light, my favourite man, where do you get your knock-offs?
eBay!

Hang on Gav, you already reviewed these guys a while ago didn't you? Just after your G1 Abominus review, if I remember correctly.
Nope

What are you talking about
In combined mode you didn't attach the chestpiece, not a big deal mind you
