How to tell the difference between a Black #Diamond vs a black #moissanite.
Most diamond and moissanite shoppers find it hard to differentiate between black loose #moissanite and black #diamond. To find out if the stone is genuine and authentic, there are few factors to consider. Fact-checking with a trusted jeweler will also help you choose and buy an original #gemstone.
Firstly, consider the cost of the stone, genuine black diamonds and moissanite costs more than ten dollars but you are likely to find cheaper ones that are less than ten dollars. These cheap are most likely to be fake and synthetic of which will wear out within a short period of time of wearing them.
A genuine black loose moissanite has a smooth surface, no scratches at all while a black diamond will have a bit of scratches. A keen and experienced #jeweler can help you spot the difference between the two.
Using stone testers like a diamond tester or a presidium multitester. These two have the ability to test the authenticity of a diamond. Using a scrapper to scratch the stone is also another way to tell the difference. Loose moissanite scratches a little while a black diamond does not. However, take caution when buying a scrapper since most of Chinese made have a hardness of less than 9 which is lower than that of loose moissanite (9.5).
Lastly, have a closer look at the #stone you want to buy, use a ten eyes loop. It will give you a clear view of the authentic stone to buy.

I recently purchased 4 carat total weight black diamond solitaire earrings they are AAA color and appraised value at $1580 appraised by RGC corp. Should I see any flaws or windows or is AAA perfect and flaws undetectable by eye?

Its a pity to Scratch the Tablet, you should use the reflectivity Meter since the refractive index is much Higher
black daimond do not have much of reflet index.. since its jet black in color and opaque.
Dear Sir, i have few black diamond but often, every time i take them to a local jewellery dealer and they tested them with thế high white tester for white diamond, its always come out moissanite.
Dear Gladys, if those black diamonds are treated/irrediated, there are high chances its structure has been altered and it has loose its thermal conductivity to specific level so it will show as the moissanite. and not the diamonds. But its not moissanite. Only trained gemologist who has prior experience with black diamonds can judge them better.

Bro same I’m so confused now!
Colored treated diamonds are annealled using HTHP process so they loss some structure.. but its still a diamond. you use clean 10x loop and check the surface.. if its too much good.. or even. chances are higher its black diamond.. and second is use the diamond scratch test... if it will show its true colors.. moissanite will not stand. so please check my other video on the black diamonds on my channel.

Só para Diamantes. Entende?

Its NOT A NATURAL BLACK DIAMOND WHEN ITS ENHANCED AND TREATED
The diamond is natural only when its enhanced with Heat. it shows in GIA certification even as Treated Natural black diamond or with enhancedment. The 100% natural diamond is also available that has flaws can range from USD800 to almost USD 2000 per carat depending on the quality.

@@joelsamson3427 The diamond will not change its characteristics.. it will be still at Moh's hardness 10, that is property of diamond, it will still shine, luster and brilliance. it will still not be cut by any other element that is 10 or lower. If you go to any GemLab even, they will say its enhanced diamond. (it will not test as even sapphire or CZ or any other gemstone. Diamond is diamond and it will stay beautiful for years unlike other gemstones. But yes.. it will not be as much valuable as 100% natural diamond without any enhancement.
