Dude, the wheel leads to some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen in a chess video 🤣More please. I also noticed that one of your opponents missed a fantastic checkmate, and you apparently didn't see it either, because you never mentioned it. @19:52 of this video, against opponent: wbg (542). You moved rf to e7 with 17.9s on your clock. Your opponent had mate with Qd1+, and after you play rxd1, he follows with rxd1#. I only saw it because I've been doing a crapload of puzzles on Lichess, and it's a recurring sequence. Is there a name for that mating pattern? Fantastic stuff, Nelson. I love all your videos. Keep it up.
I have an idea...you should make 2 wheels, one for when you play as white and one for when you play as black. That way you aren't having to, for example, play the traxler as white, when that's an opening you would use when your black. Just a thought
I don't think that's complicated. You spin both, write them down, play a game. If you get white, play that, and then spin the white wheel again. Next time you get black, just play the one you wrote down earlier
In German philosophy there is a concept known as "the will to life" which is like when you somehow get confronted with your own mortality and then it unleashes enormous energies for positive life changes.
Also what each time control is good for, and how to overcome clock anxiety in rapid. I've been teaching chess to my fiance and we both like daily best because we get clock anxiety in rapid, but she thought bullet was a lot more fun.
Rapid: anywhere from 10 minutes up to an hour. There’s multiple time controls; the most common being 15 minutes with 10 second increment Blitz: max time of 5 minutes, lowest is 3 minutes. Most common is 3 minutes with 2 second increment Bullet: 1 minute time control, with 2 minutes being the max. 2 min 1 sec time control is most common
@@paul_warnerRapid is great if you want to have the time to improve your thought process.Daily is great, too, but not as many people play Daily and so you might not face as many strong opponents. It’s important to face strong players because it’s hard to improve if you are constantly winning or rarely losing. Blitz helps you improve your time management but isn’t good if you’re trying to improve at chess. Blitz is more a test of honing your instincts. I don’t think anyone takes bullet seriously; it can be fun but it’s the time control full of the most traps and dubious openings.
Yeah, Qd1!!, Rxd1, Rxd1#. That position was really difficult to defend. Taking the rook is also mate, and trying to defend with Rc1 also allows Qd1!! and he would have to give up the rook to survive.
The way you pre move the opening is fun but not educational at all, i think having a wheel for things like sacrifice a peace might be better. you should do openings just like the 10 minutes games before
On the app I use for chess I've been getting matched with a lot of 1300-1400 opponents and I'm only rated 1150 but I've been winning against most of them just from watching you and Gothem Chess
Gotham 🤮. Naw, just kidding, you do you. Levy has kind of been trash to me since a million-ish subs. He's just become too ridiculous. I get that a lot of chess players are kids or are generally young, and that brash, ostentatious style grabs attention from that audience particularly, but I'm nearly 40 (my TH-cam account is probably older than some of you) and Gotham just no longer does anything for me. Loved him when I started playing chess back in 2019. His "showmanship" has gone completely over the top for me though. Hope you're having a fun either way. Keep doing what works for you. Couldn't resist the opportunity to drop a 🤮 emoji.

Too complicated
Nooooo, the point is to play bad moves for entertainment 😊

19:50 you were back rank mated at Qd1
@@VishnuSharma-dr2yiBut then the rook captures and is mate
I'm in the comments just to make this comment! A beautiful queen sac! Lucky this is a 600 elo game...

uh whaat? what are you talking about?
6:28 playing in this was worth not paying attention in class lmao, ill be sure to catch the next stream!
great series! the queen's blunder from both side at the end was amazing tho
Loved the chess vibes jingle ✋ (castle, attack, and checkmate CHESS VIBES 🎶)

I like these kind of videos, nice seeing you play Nelson!
1:32:30 Highlight of the video for sure
Wow. You survived the Botez. impressive. Really want to see the ICBM some day , sounds interesting 🚀
@25:15 Aren't you wasting your move here? Would it have been better to move your bishop to b4 and counterattack your opponent's rook?
Then he blocks it and 2 pieces are being threatened
what time do you usually stream?
The Chat's choice was so fun
He won the queen and still lost
Clearly too late to matter but you never played the bird, but your nelsons choice opening transposed into it
Very good show. Incredibly helpful as well.
Hello, I really enjoy your plane and teaching
" look at this guy trying to backrank checkmate us " he actually had a mate but missed it haha.. at 20 min timestamp.
Wheel 🎡
Magnus opening!!!
26:20 sacrifice the rook or bishop?
Can you do a video breaking down the names and times of different timed chess, such as speed, bullet, blitz chess and other time limits?

When does he typically stream? I’m thinking of adding the englund to the wheel.
nice wheel concept
Thanks i like it!!

Add the blackmourdeimour gambit
You should probably coin the idea. Could be a hit other streamers will be using as well at some point.

I don't think you need 4 moves for the bong cloud. It's not a 4 move opening anyway. People usually go back with the king too
should use 2 wheels 1 to select the opening and the other to select number of moves
