    Very nice honest review.Indeed a golden age of wargaming as we are literally spoilt for choice with our figures.😊🐻🐵👍

    If you look at period woodcuts, it is very rare for landsknechts arms and legs to 'match' as you describe... in fact, often left and right arms didnt match either.... everything was fastened together with 'points', allowing for the outrageous dress styles.

    nice painting. The Warlord kit always looked more heroic/fantasy scaled to me but that’s not a mark against it, just a different sculpting style.

    I use these figures in my Warhammer old world fantasy Britonian army, there very good on blobs of 40.

    Just discovered your videos! I love your army, I like the different colors, the banners and the conversions!

    From what I can see those could be mixed in the same unit and nobody would ever notice on the table top. I am a big figure-mixer. as long as they styles are not outrageously different it usually works well.

    Thank you for this video, I have such a hard time finding comparison videos for the various miniatures out there. It always seemed to me that the Warlord kit was far smaller in scale, but this confirms to me that they are super close, so again thank you!

      Thanks! I think I’ll plan to do a couple more comparisons between manufacturers, Gripping Beast vs. Victrix Vikings springs to mind.

    As a long time Dogs of War player using Perry Brothers minis is almost mandatory.

      That’s a Song of Ice and Fire miniature from CMON. My units and champions all have names, that guy is Little Joe.

    The main difference I immediately noticed was that the Pro Gloria pikes are too short. The designer also had to make compromises to fit everything into the Kickstarter that he wanted - so I'm told that the figures are a mish-mash of Landsknecht dress over a couple of decades which led to some anachronisms. On the other hand, unlike most Warlord plastic kits the detailing is fairly sharp. The Perry kits are historically accurate for their period (which ended a couple of decades before the Pro Glori figures heyday) - it's possible to mix the parts from the two kits, giving you a guy in a basic brigandine with split sleeves and a regular helmet. Or a guy with the Pro Gloria torso, plain Perry sleeves and and a Pro Gloria head.
    If you aren't super bothered by historical accuracy the Pro Gloria figures look the part, and they are certainly better than most Warlord plastics.

    I dont know how long your arms are but mine reach only to my thigh when I stand. 😉 Maybe the heads are tick to large for easier painting? But they look fine to me. Difficult to tell from the screen.

      Yeah I still can’t put my finger on it, it just seems there’s something slightly uncanny about their proportions. Still lovely sculpts and wouldn’t prevent me from buying another set if I needed another unit, by the way.

    have you tried combining parts from the perry foot knights and warlord zweihanders sprues?

    • @Dan-ds8sf
      @Dan-ds8sf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No I never had any of the Warlord Zweihanders, the large swords you see at the front of that pike block are actually out of the Wargames Atlantic Conquistador set.
      From working with both kits, if the Zeihanders are scaled like the Pike arms, I think they’d work with Perry stuff just fine.

    Seems maybe for units mix the built figs from both to blend on the table.

    • @Dan-ds8sf
      @Dan-ds8sf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Believe it or not, chiefly The Ninth Age, which is a fantasy wargame that started out as a spiritual successor to Warhammer Fantasy 8th edition. We have a decent sized community where I’m at in the northeastern US.

    great minis! do both ranges mix well?

    • @Dan-ds8sf
      @Dan-ds8sf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep, I show some kitbashes towards the end of the video. I didn’t find any problems with Perry bodies and Warlord arms/heads or vice versa. The Perry kit actually opens up a lot of potential for the Warlord kit just in the extra head options, which is probably my only real critique of the Warlord set.

    are the base sizes different?

    • @Dan-ds8sf
      @Dan-ds8sf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that’s an oopsie on my part, some are the beveled GW bases and some are the flat MDF squares I switched to, meaning that you have some models that look slightly elevated compared to others. You can’t tell on the table, but it’s noticeable in comparison shots like these.
