You should do an "Imp and Skizz after hours" where you talk about more adult subjects so Skizz can tell the story.

When Skiz is talking about Mumbo taking the time to write a personal message with every signature, he says well first of all that's why this line is so long, but that's true for two reasons. Yes it did take a long time per person but the reason so many people wanted to even be in the line is because of the kind of person Mumbo is. Just awesome.

I always thought Impulse was one of the nicest hermits but could be extremely scary if you messed with him or his friends, and I was right, the face he made when talking about the stage not being accessible for Scar he was very scary! (or I'm going crazy but I think you can see the ressentiment even years later) and I love it.

I remember this like it was yesterday because of Rendog. "Growing And Maintaining a Strong Server Community." What a topic. Skizz's live stream got picked up by many other Twitch streamers too. It was awesome! That live stream went everywhere. I was in Rendog's live stream when he cut away to it. He wanted to be there with you all so much. We were shocked. But it was Rendog's joy and pride of seeing his Hermits friends represent your group with honesty and professionalism that brought us all to tears. We were proud of your too. That video from your phone still floats on the internet today. I remember how astonished we at home we and the audience were to hear X's voice coming from that wonderful cardboard box. LOL. Following Joe around was hilarious but worth it. Cub, Iskall, Mumbo, Tango, Impulse, Scar, Xisuma. Python and Hypno were seated in the audience. Scar did speak about being lifted up to the stage. And how much he appreciated everyone's help getting him to the stage safely. Someone also filmed the meet and greet and I always wondered why that guy was sitting on wall signing autographs? I just figured there wasn't enough room at the tables you all were sitting at. And then there was the line. OMG. So many people came to see all of you. But we also know it was about Mumbo. LOL Someone filmed a little of your surroundings in the house. All I know is it was clear that all of you were having a wonderful time. And we here at home were honored that you thought of us to bring us along with you. Thank you for doing that Skizz. It will be forever appreciated.

I’d love Skizzleman as a hermit, or at least just a regular guest, just because I feel like he could be a great Everyman. Just sort of someone who could let viewers vicariously be on Hermitcraft. Just there to check out all the things others have made, hang out with friends, get up to shenanigans with others, and just generally have fun and just be there and add his own flare.

I met Impulse, Doc, Zedaph and some other hermits at Minecon in London, we all had a great time and agreed we should hang out at the next Minecon. When Minecon was announced in Anaheim, and I let Impulse know I was planning to fly to California around that time for work, we agreed to get a house for a few of use. Next minute there was 10 or 12 of us, with Hermits & SMB folks, filling a house across the street from the convention center. It was wild, getting to meet folks like Skizz, Cubfan, Stress, Iskall, Mumbo, Hypno, Joehills, and Tango. We had a couple meetups/parties, a fun game of Cards Against Humanity, and a delicious breakfast courtesy of Dadcraft73.

  • @miniciominiciominicio

It seems so long ago that the only thing I knew about Skizz was that he was a friend of Impulse’s and also the Minecon 2016 hero for capturing the footage he did.
It’s been over 3 years now that Skizz is one of my favourite content creators and I would definitely mess up on my words and probably speak super fast yet awkward if I were to meet him or any of the other hermits.
Thank you both for telling stories from this Minecon! Skizz’s grocery shopping with Iskall was hilarious. xD And hearing about how Mumbo treated those kids lining up for autographs is the sweetest thing.
I’ll have to go rewatch the panel because when I first watched it back in mid-season 6, I was a huge Iskall and Mumbo fan and they took most of my focus. I wasn’t even subbed to Impulse yet and definitely not Tango (as he was on hiatus). I think I subscribed to Impulse shortly before you built that match game towards the end of the season, and then to Tango when he came back from hiatus.
This will be a podcast I’ll come for a another listen at some point, I’m sure.

45:48 Skizzleman, here's some words of affirmation I realized about you while listening to this part.
You're so incredibly insightful, you're always able to figure out exactly what people are wanting to hear - as demonstrated in this story here, and all those Words of Affirmation you're currently distributing on the Limited Life server! But not just that - you have both the charisma and sensitivity to deliver those insights in juuust the right way for each individual audience that you speak to. Energy, jokes, seriousness, somberness - no matter the tone, your way with words always shines, and leaves us all with a smile on our face at the end of the day.
It's truly incredible and the world would be such a ridiculously better place if there were more people like you in it.

Skizz, the way you felt post-Minecon is something I so deeply identify with. It was really humanizing to hear that - a reminder of that shared thread - and the way a beautiful gift of what might be called a new understanding of how we impact others and sustain ourselves (financially, yes, and more) and exercise our passion).
I haven’t been as successful at holding the line for those things that became relatively meaningless, though mine are more flexible than a married corporate man with kids.
I suppose my message is simply camaraderie and appreciation for the way you share yourself with a full heart. I think I’ve learned from you lately, without consciously meaning to, and it’s been a positive influence on my mind and my creative passions

    • @Gawroon7
      @Gawroon7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

This and what skizz was talking about is so odd. I want to share a different perspective with you. I am entering my 30s and I eventually learned to feel....attached to job and family etc. My previous 15yrs was living with that feeling of "man, I need to output my creativity". I couldn't handle all my endeavors at once so I had to finish Univ, find a job etc and only now I started to accept that reality. I could not understand until my mid 20s how people could be so calm about life consisting of job and consumption ("let's go to place and look at things and eat stuff and then just work"). I eventually understood that it's not worse, but it's me who has this drill inside my body. I am just sharing the other perspective, because it's funny to me because while people discover that feeling of drilling and extreme suction, I am eventually starting to learn to let it go at least in some part xD

@@Gawroon7 I thought about this a bit, I didn’t want to respond right away tbh, and see if my perspective was shifting or anything. But, my gut remains pretty strong. Or priority or journey, so, no harm sitting in the fire - for me. *this is fine*

I never meant my message for you or anyone else precisely, nor I meant that one way is better than the other - I just wanted, honestly, to share that different approach can be achieved/got. And that is only a "fun fact" - because if you have approach A - why would you try living the B? And vice versa. You can try to understand why people seem to choose B, but that is other thing whatsoever than changing the way you live first :) tl;dr: I am glad oyu are doing what feels fine for you. The part where you guys talk about the insignificance of the corporate world hits home for me. I didn't know better then slamming those deadlines and target points my whole life. Untill I had and accident when I was 37 ys old and was forced to be laying in bed for almost a year, wrapped up in casts that didn't allow me to move around. Very soon I discovered I had no real friends or hobbies or knew anything to do really. I have been a perfect slave to the system for way too long. When I was recovered the company I used to work for had moved abroad and somehow I ended up working a volunteering job, something completely different. It is 5 years later now and I am still doing this. I don't want to go back to what I have been doing. I have a lot less money to spend, but I gained a network of likeminded people and I feel much better.

Technical thing here; There is a really high frequency resonating in your audio. I'm not sure if it is the mics, or the room tone. A little bit of EQ should take care of it once you find the frequency. Honestly, its probably not noticable for most people, I'm an audio engineer which is the only reason I noticed.

@@miniciominiciominicio i know and we also have no insight on the minecon team's planning process. So that's sad but can't do much about it. I was referring to Skizz afterwards saying that neither he nor his team ever remembered thinking of stage accessibility in all the time he was working in event management. Also, no judgement but now he has the possibility to learn.

There's a game kinda like Cards Against Humanity called Codenames, it's a lot less offensive and more family friendly. Look it up, if you can get some of the Friday crew together. I've only seen 6 player games (3 on each team) but maybe more can play

35:40 This is gonna make you even sadder but this is just another day in the life when you live with a disability. Even if you call ahead 10 times and let 10 different people know, even if you have on paper exactly what you need and that they are gonna get it. And it doesn't only happen at conventions, it happens everywhere. Restaurants, hospitals, hotels, vaccination posts, taxis, public transport. Everyone makes it so difficult on people with disabilities.

50:46 The way you’re describing this steak reminds me of one I had on holiday to Barcelona with my family when I was a teenager. We had been out for so long and our legs were tired and we were hungry and we basically just came out of the train station and went into the restaurant 15 metres from it. And the steak my mum and I had was like this. Brilliant. We both still remember the taste to this day many years later. It might have only been so good because of how tired and hungry we were. But it was brilliant.

Skizz, I once said that this life was Impulse's legacy. To you, I say this is your DESTINY: a state or end that seemingly has been decided beforehand. It was foretold. Your preordination. In ever increasing, concentric, sinusoidal arcs and circlets, you are on a chaotic, many branching, and yet inexorable journey towards making people laugh and brightening the lives of others. (whisper: it's both already happened and in the constant process of happening. You're influence is fractal my dude. You are a beauty.)

Such a fitting conversation. A bunch of your patrons are planning an iSV meetup this summer at Disneyland! We can't have a convention so we'll make our own meetup. Most of your mods will be there and a bunch of others as well. You've really created an amazing community that I'm proud to be part of it.

It's been a really rough few days with a storm so bad that it has a name, our apartment flooding, family getting at each other's throats and such. Having a lighthearted and funny podcast to listen to is just what I needed to shut down and tune out the bad things in my life. Makes me hopeful for the future and keeps me focused on what's important. Thank you for all that you 2 do. Whether it's the podcast, a minecraft series or JITS/ZITS streams, you always make me smile and feel better.
