Explanation about the burning shoes: they had a bad split and ongoing legal battles with their former company. Back then, their signature shoe was a white converse sneaker that they wore in many MVs. So they’re burning the white converse on a line and upgrading to new shoes as a fuck you to their old company.
If you’re gonna dive into LOONA’s music you should find a g drive link because we aren’t supporting or giving money or views to their original company. The fans have made the videos available in other ways if you know what I mean 😅 I hope you enjoy their previous stuff and also their redebuts too! All of them are continuing their careers so it’s exciting for us fans right now! Oh and check out the album OEC just came out with too it’s really good!
@@Izzacca03I think you’re the one misinformed🤨 The boycott is not completely over as you’re still giving money to bbshit by streaming old songs, they have not yet acquired copyrights for their other songs + bbshit has announced they will never stop their legal battle against the members so if you’re streaming you’re still giving them money to use against the girls🤷🏻♀️
@@Izzacca03 you are misinformed, the boycott is still going on since theyre still have a lawsuit with Chuu and i dont think anyone wants to fund their lawyers
@@Izzacca03 The lawsuits by all the members are still active - the decisions that have been made so far were preliminary injunctions that suspended (not terminated) the contracts with BlockBerry Creative. However Chuu's lawsuit is the most important/prominent, in that it is first to go to full trial (in early August) and because Heejin, Hyunjin, ViVi, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry all had contracts that were word-for-word identical to Chuu's. The judge presiding over her case urged both parties to submit to mediation back in May, but it went nowhere and the case is proceeding to trial. The outcome of Chuu's trial will determine the final outcome for all seven. Usually courts don't issue injunctions unless the party seeking redress is likely to win in a final trial, which is why the members have gone ahead and signed with new agencies. LOONA Union, who did so much to organize and sustain the boycott, have as their pinned tweet their notice that continuing the boycott is up to the personal judgement of each Orbit. Since BlockBerry continue to threaten further legal action against all twelve members, the situation has not come to a definitive conclusion yet. There are other ways to watch LOONA music videos that don't support BlockBerry Creative (digipedi's channel on Vimeo most directly).
All of you are wrong the boycott is now labeled optional after all the members left the company. If you still have a problem then fine but don’t force others to follow you. We are just beating a dead horse at this point
The burning shoes are converse which were their signature shoes while they were under their old company bbc, the switch to Air Force ones is to represent their new start and literally burning away the past
Just listened to the entire project earlier and loved every song. So glad to see them already having a successful redebut/comeback? I don't know either way can't wait to see what they continue to do along with the rest of the Loona girls. Also there was a cameo by another Loona member, Jeon Heejin, for a split second. She also is joined the same company as them, so I wonder if that's why she had a cameo or if it's for a connection along the new storylines but we'll see.
Max & Match by this same subunit is unironically just about the best K-pop album you'll hear. No skips, every single track the quality of a title track with a unique sound I promise you haven't heard from any kpop yet. Just listen to "LOONATIC" and see what I mean
it would be great if you reacted to their introduction on youtube and their older music on a twitch stream or something instead because we're boycotting their old company (blockberry creative) right now. either way tho, loona are so lovable. their music and choreos are one of the best. here's an archive of all their content on google drive: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1B-cn00fuKSnPVZQ_Dy2xoTsPHm6vW7eQ
The old loona are well known using converse in almost all of their mvs, so because they moved to a new company they burned the old one and the new one is air force one
Hi ive been watching ur stuff for a while and also Loona is my all time favorite group so im gonna write an introduction to the unit and to the group and fill u in on what has been going on with them! So in advance sorry for a lenghty comment but I hope you read it since first 3 paragraphs contain important info about their situation right now. Other paragraphs contain an introduction to Loona as a whole. THE BOYCOTT First of all, OEC unit was a fan favorite unit since they made all these synthy songs. Most Orbits (Loona fandom) choose their old albums as some of their favorite music in Loona's discograpghy. You are free to check out OEC's newest album Version Up but i fear that it would be impossible for you to check out their stuff from 2017 from the official sources. For last almost 9 months there has been an ongoing boycott of their (now previous) company. They have done a lot of wrongs but the main one was not paying the members (had contracts that only put them in an infinite debt) and the last straw was them kicking one of the members - Chuu, for speaking out and fighting with them in court for a new contract. Although as of last months all Loona members are free from their old company - Blockberry Creative or BBC for short, they still have rights to all of their music, channels and they gain revenue from that which they can use in court against the girls and they tried to blacklist them completely from the entertainment industry, mainly Chuu but also mentioned planning to try and blacklist OEC members (Kim Lip, Jinsoul, Choerry) and member Heejin who is also under the same company as them (and appeared in the MV towards the end) - Modhaus, a company of their old creative director in years 2016-19 Jaden Jeong, the mastermind of the entire Loona concept, and also a company of group tripleS, which you reacted to before! So there has been an ongoing boycott - Orbits made a Google Drive containing all of Loona's content from their channel - MV's, Covers, Dance Practices and their series of vlogs Loona TV, Loona Log and Loona Note PLUS their entire discography includding hidden tracks. All Orbit TH-camrs stopped completely reacting to Loona content as it still gave revenue to BBC so we would be grateful if u would take part in the boycott, until they all gain rights to their music. LOONA Now onto the group itself: Loona (meaning moon in various languages, thats why the MV had a lot of moon imagery) in Korean idarui sonyeo (girl of the month) is a 12 member group made of members: Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, Yeojin, Vivi (only foreigner, from Hong Kong), Kim Lip, Jinsoul, Choerry, Yves, Chuu, Gowon and Olivia Hye (now officialy known as Hyeju which is her real name). What makes Loona different from any other group is their unique predebut project - before the group debuted in August 2018 every member released a solo single with an MV EVERY MONTH starting from Heejin (in October 2016) to Olivia Hye (March 2018). The project as you can notice took more than a year because well - they also debuted subunits which were: Loona 1/3 (Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, Vivi + Yeojin who wasn't officially in the subunit since she was too young and had to focus on school), Odd Eye Circle and yyxy (youth youth by young, read it as 'why why by why'). Another thing Loona is really known from is their lore called Loonaverse. You could find it anywhere - in MVs, TH-cam descriptions, teaser images, lyrics and even the choreography! I won't dive much into it but the basic info is that each girl has their representative color, animal and some have representative countries and fruits. They have been releasing music as a full group since 2018 with their title tracks: Hi High (debut, 2018), Butterfly (2019), So What (2020), Why not? (2020), PTT Paint The Town (2021), Hula Hoop (Japanese debut, 2021) and their last comeback as a full group Flip That (2022). Now the members are split off to different agencies: Heejin, Haseul, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, Choerry - in Modhaus, Hyunjin, Yeojin, Vivi, Gowon and Hyeju in CTDENM (company of a also previous BBC staff who also quit the company), Chuu in ATRP and Yves who is yet to choose a company but revealed that shes going solo for now (as of now shes trying all the stuff she couldnt do while being under BBC such music production, she writes a blog and also lately said that she wants to try photography and will learn from Loona's previous photographer). But even though all of this happened the members still love and support eachother and Kim Lip in OECs debut showcase confirmed that they still wait for an opportunity where all 12 of them can be in one group. And them teaming up with ex-BBC employees makes sense since the real enemy was the CEO and his wife (there was even a controversy about them not paying the staff). Even going through all that the staff stayed with girls because they loved them so much and a lot of them even defended Chuu when BBC tried to accuse her of abusing the staff. ODD EYE CIRCLE And now with the too long introduction onto Odd Eye Circle. The weird name comes from their lore - each girl has whats called an odd eye (that shines in their representative colors, which wasnt shown in this MV). The word 'ODD' also visually represents three moons. In their lore that specific unit also has superpowers such as superspeed (time manipulation) - Kim Lip, teleportation - Jinsoul, or interdimensional travel - Choerry. That's why you can notice in the MV them stopping the time in the beginning or just disentegrating that truck that was coming to them (yeah what the hell was that about?!). The MV itself has A LOT of callbacks to Loona's lore but I'll explain the one you were shocked about - the burning shoes. During the 2017 OEC had representative shoes which were white Converses and they were the shoes burning in the MV, which means getting rid of their past (in BBC probably). On that note the MV also has some meta stuff happening like fighting with higher-ups and stealing the crown (and then throwing it away) which could represent that they dont need the power and they just dont want that specific person to be the one wearing it. And as for cinematography and the aspect ratio - Loona in general used to have all the MVs made by directors at Digipedi and this is one of their first MVs done by an another director so I promise, if u ever get an opportunity to get into their MVs you wont see the bars that cover 2/3 of the screen. Finally I'd recommend checking out the Version Up album since all the bsides are just so amazing and worth checking out and Im sorry that you got into their stuff just now. If you want to check them out I can send you the link with all of their MVs so you dont give much money to BBC. But if you want to know more about them for a better introduction than this I recommend a guide made by a channel Rice Squad titled 'The Avengers of Kpop: A Story of LOONA'. It's pretty old but it's a must watch if you want to know more about Loona. It talks about all aspects of their career from 2016 to 2019 like their history, music, choreography and even has a little and quite understandable introduction to their lore. But tbh any guide you choose to watch about Loona will be good Sorry for the long comment again and I hope you can become an Orbit as well sooner or later ^^ also an EDIT: dont listen to that person from chat about reuploaded MVs and such, since BBC still claimed most of them and gains revenue from it. The boycott is very much voluntary and im not forcing you to boycott but just recommending what would be the best if you really want to respect Loona and OEC as artists. But if u decide to go on the journey and check out them as a group i will support 👍
Choerry is indeed meant to be pronounced Cherry, but you should be calling Kim Lip by her official Orbit nickname Kimberly Lippington (your nicknames are fine. and i'm sure it helps at remembering their stage names faster anyways) For the record, ARTMS (ex-loona) usually don't mind fans streaming on Spotify (and they've been seen streaming themselves, they want to see it spread). Sources say the earnings per stream go as low as 0.003 cents (maybe 0.005 cents on a good day). Detractors are mostly fans who can't handle the idea of giving BBC any reward at all out of principle, or those who haven't realized BBC can't use so little money to hire lawyers (this is a real thing). It seems TH-cam pays more though, so the link someone else posted is very handy regardless.
