Why do you think parents invented nap time? It’s literally meant to get kids out of their hair (and ensure they get plenty of rest, since they’re still growing.).
Lots of parents did the same thing, they give advice to those new parents what is the right thing to do and to avoid those things that will harm the baby.
Yeah, it's not rude to give advice. Not being experience doesn't make you incompetent, it's just people with experience will give advice one what worked best for them. I don't see what the problem is.
