This song was for his wife Jenna, but the video I think is about how they put so much work into their songs and then some people hate on it because it’s no what they like, not realizing that the artists gave you their soul in that work.
so the theory going around on twitter about this video is that it’s about their last album scaled and icy and how they put all their time and effort into it just for it to fail. it didn’t perform well with the fans and locals compared to their past albums. and the men in black towards the end represent their management, how they considered the album to be a “miss”. but tyler also recently mentioned the song being about his wife jenna and their early stages of dating

can't imagine how it must feel as an artist to put so much time into creating a song thats so personal to you and then having one 'shot' to release it to the public and wait to hear if they like it or say it's a 'miss'!!

So happy to see you reacted to this one already ❤ I see it a bit of a metaphor for scaled and icy. They put so much into that album. Including a livestream, a roblox concert , theater experience. Then we saw how some fans didn’t like it. The bullet a bit like sai, colorful and presented to us. Then that reminds me of the line “ I kinda regret Saturday “ from another new song. The men in suits saying it’s a miss could be us or also the record company.. this song should have another video coming called Jenna’s version. Thanks again so much ❤ |-/
I think you hit it dead on. This song with the video is a double-entendre… works as a love song, but the video is totally talking about SAI and how many of the fans just didn’t appreciate it… he took a shot with his creative energy and missed. 😔

I agree 100%. You can see Trash the Dragon in the background at 2:45 of their video. I like SAI. This video makes me so sad. The song’s beautiful, though.

Yes, what creative souls they truly are. The vid metaphor is based on the gen public's and management's reactions to SAI after they put so much creative and beautiful work into it. But I love SAI and everything it represents. It's exactly what I needed to get thru those 4 years.
Ty and Josh are kindred spirits. Their attention to detail and genius shows in everything they touch, imo. And while the ending is funny in an ironic way, it's also sad and frustrating. But they've grown so much since they started and showed us how to as well. Everything has a purpose.
And then there's the lyrics. These ones really get me on a personal level. Ugh, that self sabotage and, just literally, craving to have that acknowledgement or validation or acceptance or reciprocation from the ones you love. Ugh. This one hits hard. And I've felt they way the boys do at the end of the video.
I marvel at how they can hit the nail on the head every time. Such a poignant and perfect metaphor. Not A Miss in my book!
