Blur's supposed irony masks a love of the original IMO. The British music press did really hype them as a patriotic antidote to grunge, but I suspect they at least liked the Pixies and probably more.
Inna, I am positive you have heard some part of this song before. Here in the USA, Song 2 is often played at professional sporting events when a team scores a goal, like in hockey, for example. The home team fans usually sing the "WOO-HOO!!" part. I can personally tell you that fact because I have been one. 🙂

This song was originally supposed to be an unreleased track, but they decided at the last minute to release it. Probably the best decision in their musical careers to say the least! 👽👾🛸

for me this is the main FIFA theme in general lol I always listen to that song when I play FIFA or Im about to watch a Euro or World cup game.
Always reminds me of fifa 98 world cup the game. It was the soundtrack on the intro and at reminds me of the 90s. Obviously an iconic tune.

Damon Albarn is fantastic! The guy is behind the Gorillaz project and has a super active musical mind. The guy is always involved in some musical project.
The lead singer of this band also was lead for his other bands The Good, The Bad and The Queen , check out Herculean and The Gorillaz check out a famous song from the 90s 19- 2000 (Soul child remix)

Maybe what sounds odd about it is the bass guitar uses a type of distortion pedal that isn’t noticed that often as the other guitars on some songs use even more effects pedals
i used to be a dj at a pub in camden town & i was told by the manager never to play this song because the punters used to go totally crazy when i first played it! just before closing time was not a good time to play it, becaus4 many of the customers were out of their faces!!!

Firstly, this song doesn't surprise me that I remember it because of Woooo, I also heard it because I heard this part in commercials in my country Brazil and it doesn't surprise me that I'm confused because I was too when I heard it the first time, but it's still a good song and doesn't take away from its merits and if I could recommend a song to you, clear eyes, it would be The Call of The Mountains by the band Eluveltie, it's a good song and I think you'll like it and what's more That's it, continue with the work you're doing and greetings from Brazil to you! 💚💛💚💛

That album was a total success for that band, they recorded several songs, there is one in particular that is not so acidic called "Beetlebum" and it is a very catchy song, I recommend it to you, There is a group with music very similar to this one called Weezer and they have a song that is one of my favorites "Island in the Sun" if you haven't heard that song, it's a very good alternative rock ballad from 2001

Your pronunciation of "Blur" at 0:22, with a hard "r, " is how someone who spoke English as their first language would say it, but, I like the rolled "r" so, you can just say it however you're comfortable saying it.

👽 ... that one has to do. Blur and Oasis were in a "publicity" fight back in those days about who was the best new British band since The Beatles. Neither were of course. The album from which Song 2 is taken is an awesome album and I can recommend listening to the entirety of it. Also nice to know is that the singer of Blur is the man behind the band "Gorrilaz" and you have listened to them before.
