On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses what Mark Pope has said about the first installments of Kentucky basketball practice. Lamont Butler, Otega Oweh, Amari Williams, Jaxson Robinson, and Andrew Carr are all showing out for the Wildcats. Pope talked about how coachable the team is, how important player leadership will be, and how refreshing it is to see the players come together outside of practice.

I like to see all the seniors do their part this year. And starting next year all of our other guys know their roll and help with our new guys. People this is going to be the best year we had in years. I'm telling you everybody we got is good ball players. I been a wildcat fan for fifty years. I would almost bet by March we have at least and elite 8 team. I hope it's better but that will do for year one defense wins game and we got that.
Couldn't have said it better myself! Half of my whole family are from Kentucky, so I practically bleed blue at this point! Most excited I've been for a UK season for a long time. Go Big Blue!!

I may be extra biased because i really like Almonor, but i think he's gonna fight and claw his way into a spot where he feels like he's playing and contributing at a high level.
A Ky center will lead team in assists & will be top 5 in SEC
What a great upcoming season this will be.
I would love to know once they finish these practices if they get together on their own and practice themselves with what they have been shown so once the fall starts they are way ready to go.
i say play the player that are hot in that game course now we got that kind of a team next man up wow they want set they will play and not set the bench and go number 3 pick in MBA OR 8TH PICK CAL CAN BET ON THAT NOW .THERE MORE TO WHAT COACH CAL DID THAT NOW YOU SEE HE GOING TO MAKE LOT CHICKEN MONEY NOW

Is BYU replacing us as a Blue Blood? Why is BYU signing lottery picks (Egor Demin) and nothing but 4 Stars now that they got rid of Coach Pope? Why is BYU recruiting ranked 30 spots ahead of us this year? Did we make a Huge Mistake?
BYU is still BYU. Utah Jazz owner is handing out NIL $ like candy. We are 8x national champion Kentucky wildcats. Have some confidence in your program.

@@theoptimist9605 0 games have been played. We signed 2 4 stars and 1 3 star this year. The man had 2 months to put together a roster. Have hope.
@@ULFISHGETTER I agree. However, the BYU coach had even less time than Coach Pope. Let’s hope for the best!
We had number 1 recruiting classes and lost to no name teams recruits don’t mean nothing in this day and age

It's pretty crazy traveling to a different continent to see a player play for recruiting purposes, especially when that player plays in the US 99% of his games prbly
