Mr. Jinks and Doggie Daddy are my two favorite HB characters. So, to see them actually talking to each other in this episode is just awesomeness overload!! Also, I lowkey love how even though Mr. Jinks was at first annoyed with Doggie Daddy for holding up the line until Augie got back with the bananas, he’s the only one in line who ends up somewhat concerned about Doggie Daddy and actually tries to help him, even if Doggie Daddy was understandably afraid of losing Augie in the grocery store. I even loved how he called Doggie Daddy “buddy” at one point. ^^ I keep thinking about their interaction in this episode and comparing it to that scene in Toy Story 1 where Woody is trying to calm Buzz down when he’s having his meltdown while dressed as Mrs. Nesbitt. I even kinda compare this scene to Dory helping Marlin find Nemo in Finding Nemo. You know, cuz Jellystone's Doggie Daddy is basically Marlin cranked up to 12. I lowkey hope to see more interactions between them in future episodes, even if they are brief. I just think it'd be cool to see Mr. Jinks being Doggie Daddy's friend, you know? Like, be there to help him stay calm while Augie is out with friends or something, like in the Doggie Dave episode (SPOILERS!). Ik it’s probably far fetched, but it’s fun to imagine. ^^
That is definitely one of the best parts about a lot of the Yogi and co cartoons, seeing the different characters and personalities playing-off each other. Mr. Jinx sadly wasn’t a regular among Yogi’s Gang and even in Laff-a-Lympics he rarely interacts with anyone besides Pixie and Dixie. So, I’m glad you go to see two of your favorite characters together and even become pals. 🥹👍🏾

More importantly, if production issued for more females, then include more characters--if not only major then minor characters with significant roles--the set of Jellystone presents vast opportunities; it be criminal not include more icons that represent the Hanna-Barbera family and that's not excluding modern Hanna-Barbera powerhouses like The Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, and Cow & Chicken, and less renowned such as Robot Jones, Swat Katz, 2 Stupid Dogs, and hell even Captain Planet. Especially since human characters within the show are limited by a small selection.
People bringing up changed genders and character traits, while I'm like "so these formerly irrelevant characters actually have personalities now? Cool." Think about every character that had their gender or character traits changed, were any of them actually developed enough to merit staying intact? Yes Augie is a girl now, but is anything actually lost? What about the original Baba Looey, who was pretty much a Boo Boo knockoff for Quickdraw? When developing this series they took a good look at who had an established personality like Yogi, Huckleberry, Snagglepuss and kept that inctact, while reworking characters that didn't have much depth to begin with to have a more interesting and well-rounded cast.

Jellystone has gotten much more violent in the last sixty years. I guess Yogi's original quest for "the perfect place" proved futile. At least it's funnier now; the old episodes were just glorified Sunday school lessons.
I think it’s kinda practical that they gender bent some characters. I mean there was only like 10 in the whole HB universe. Just from a story/writer perspective it just opens more options with a more diverse cast

Look buddy, I hate to be the one to break it to ya, but the original Hanna Barbara cartoons were made over 50 years ago. The original toons are either retired or just plain dead. These are new toons playing the roles.

The show needed the popular icons, and in the time most of the shows followed a male lead or leads with woman often not getting the spotlight. Jellystone took a lot of characters who were popular in the past but not really well known and wanted to try a new spin. It wasn't just a random dart board about gender, they did try to take into account where it makes sense. IE: It makes a lot of son for a single father to be overprotective of his daughter over his son, a gang of friends makes sense to have a more diverse group of people (top cat gang). They also made sure to genderswap the characters whose names aren't effected or barely would be. Lastly, a lot of the well known female characters are human and thus would be weird in the city of Jellystone (Wilma, Velma, ect) or just had the personality of Girl of the group as many shows did back then. You can personally not like it, and once the next wave hits they are just going to change every single character back so try and enjoy the new takes on these characters while it lasts.
