Honestly, I wouldn't have minded this lineup of actors for the F4 if the MCU had existed back then with Feige in control. Michael, in particular, was just so perfect as Ben. Ioan was also a great Reed (or at the very least, he looked the part). Imagine them under Feige's direction. They still did well with the stuff they were given back then though.
And Julian MacMahon played a fantastic Doctor Doom. at least portrayal wise the role fit him. 100 times better than the doom from the reboot. Give Julian the role back for the new reboot and let him shine

Amazing thing about the marvel films from the 2000s. Not only did they have great actors with a cool adaptation of the comic book characters (Hulk, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four) they also had great scores. I still feel the nostalgia from the score in this film and Tobey’s Spider-Man.

For all the problems there were in the two Tim Story Fantastic Four movies Michael Chiklis & Chris Evans as The Thing & Johnny Storm were not one of them.

I didn't mind the 2015 version, I could see glimpses of where the director was trying to go with his version, but my understanding is that he was hampered by the studio's insistence on rewrites and refilming key scenes, that resulted in a watered down mishmash of poor pacing and awful dialogue. I think if 20th Century Fox had just butted out and let Josh Trank follow his instinct and do his thing, it would have turned out a LOT better.
