I play a Timelord/Kaiju beatdown deck, so I don't use any burn trap cards. If I feel like going for a beatdown win, I do rank 10 xyz summoning for huge boss monsters depending on my situation. I have the level 10 Kaijus to help me get xyz summoning quicker. Other level 10 monsters I threw in my deck to help with xyz summoning are Exodius, The Ultimate Forbidden Lord (which can shuffle back all your monsters in graveyard including used Maxx Cs and Ash Blossoms) and Guardian Slime...and I sometimes side deck Eldlich as well for a removal option. Heck, I even put Metal Reflect Slime in my deck because it's a trap card that instantly becomes a 3000 DEF level 10 monster

      Dang that's a good strategy

The last cards you should consider are a few more SRs:
Ceasefire is a straight-up upgrade to Just Desserts because it inflicts damage based on the number of *ALL* effect monsters on the field, not just your opponents. This means that as long as you have a Timelord and your opponent doesn't have non-effect monsters you will *ALWAYS* do 500 more damage. Not only that, even if they *DO* have a non-effect monster, the damage will still be equal. Plus, if your opponent has the Adventure Token, Dark Magician, or Blue Eyes, you're probably screwed and going to get bounced with Drakoback, Banished with Dark Magical Circle, or Bounced with Blue-Eyes Jet anyway. It's also a Legacy card so as long as your luck isn't ass (I have 7 Just Desserts and only 1 Ceasefire...) you'll have a chance to get copies of it just by playing.
Summon Limit is another Legacy SR that fits Timelords like a glove. If you can establish it turn one then a lot of non-Branded decks get really heavily restricted. Doesn't work on Eldlich though.
A budget alternative to this is Summon Breaker, which automatically makes it the End Phase when someone summons 3 times. The problem is that it doesn't *STOP* the 3rd summon and it only applies to Main Phase 1 so it's possible to play around it.
The last thing I'll mention is Gravedigger's Trap Hole and Trap Trick. Both are SR traps that can be found in the Traptrix pack. Trap Trick can search for any normal Trap provided that you have at least 2 copies left in your deck, letting your push for game if you need something specific. And Gravedigger's Trap Hole inflicts a whopping 2k damage with one card. Most people use it to stop hand traps like Ash Blossom, but if you're anything like me, you've run into plenty of people who activate Maxx C even when you can't do anything. Plus, it's not just effects in the hand, it's easy to forget that it negates and burns if someone tries to activate a monster effect from something that's banished or in the GY too.

There are OTK versions with Raphion + Double-Edge Sword equipped to your opponent's monster. But this version may be a little expensive.
    .
Other good tech are Montage Dragon and Solemn Strike. Montage Dragon can discard 3 Timelord to special summon itself and get huge attack. You can use Solemn Strike to keep your Timelord and prevent it when it wanna back to deck.

    • @CYCOMANIAK
      @CYCOMANIAK  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice I gotta try that

    • @TheTaintedWisdom
      @TheTaintedWisdom ปีที่แล้ว

Montage is deep fried ass. Going -3 for *ONE* monster with no protections whatsoever, no direct attacking, and not even *PIERCING* that also can't be summoned if you have less than 3 monsters in hand? Might as well surrender immediately, even if it has the theoretical capacity to go up to 9k.

You can use also potentially use Magic CylinderS. Pros:
    - Can search out Cylinder, set it, and even activate it the same turn.
    - Because your opponent sees Cylinder, while they'll know about the danger, you can use the time provided to you to draw Timelords and other burn cards. Can also make your opponent paranoid about other cards you've set being Cylinder if you don't activate them right away.
    - Winning with Cylinder is fun. Winning with double damage Cylinder is more fun.
    - Since the double damage effect it gives to Cylinder is a GY effect, it doesn't matter if your opponent destroys Cylinders.
    Cons:
    - Is also an SR.
    - Same issues with Cylinder vs Dimension Wall.
    - Makes your opponent aware of Cylinder's existence which allows them to play around it by just attacking with weaker monsters instead or using targeted destruction. Rememeber, the unknown is what makes battle traps so deadly, so the knowledge imparted to your opponent can lose you the game right then and there.
    - I'm almost certain you can't activate Cylinders and Cylinder in response to an attack. Cylinder has to be activated in response to an attack being declared, but if you set it off of Cylinders then the last thing that happens when the chain resolves won't be the declared attack, it'll be the setting of Cylinder so it won't work.
    Kinda in the middle:
    - While it's true that your opponent destroying Cylinders doesn't stop you from utilizing the double damage effect, all they have to do is look in your GY after destroying your back row to know what kind of deck your on and play around Cylinder if you ever set cards in the future. This is bad because your opponent knows about the card before you even set it, but it can also cause them to play around it even when it isn't there, allowing you to bluff and wait for the real thing to show up.
If you don't mind spending SR points (looks at CP) and you *clearly* don't. Mahaama the Fairy Dragon would probably be a much better bet than Cylinders. Basically, Mahaama is a hand trap that summons itself and inflicts damage equal to the damage you take from a single attack, so you have to *take* the damage before you can inflict it. So, Pros:
    - Also bypasses unaffected monsters to inflict damage.
    - Is a hand trap so it's *MUCH* better protected from your opponent's destruction effects.
    - Has a 2400 booty so it can block a decent-sized attack.
    - Inflicts effect damage so you don't have to forgo the victory by effect damage only duel result bonus.
    - Can *RECOVER* the LP you lost in case the damage wouldn't be enough to KO your opponent but you wouldn't survive otherwise.
    Cons:
    - It's effect to damage/recover LP only activates after being summoned, so its effects can be negated by things like Skill Drain.
    - It stays on the field afterward which makes summoning Timelords more than a little problematic.
    - You have to be able to survive *taking* the damage in order to inflict it.

    More budget (N/R) Cards:
TA.I. Strike. This thing is practically *MANDATORY* to have in a Timelord deck.
    Pros:
    - Can be paired with *ANY* Timelord besides Sandion to inflict damage to your opponent without taking any yourself while *ALSO* destroying your opponent's monster.
    - Makes it so that even if your Timelord's effect is negated even by something like Skill Drain, you're likely going to inflict serious damage without taking damage yourself.
    - It activates during Damage Calculation, which means that cards like Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss *CANNOT* negate its effects because only cards that negate the *ACTIVATION* of effects can be activated in Damage Calc, NOT effect negations.
    - In addition, because it copies the opposing monster's *OVERALL* ATK rather than the _ORIGINAL_ ATK it doesn't matter how boosted the monster might be. But on top of that, because you're likely going to be the one attacking when activating the effect, you're going to have turn priority. What this means is that when you declare an attack with a Timelord you'll be prompted to activate TA.I. Strike before your opponent can do anything. From there, your opponent could activate 30 different effects to boost their monster's ATK and it wouldn't matter for shit because Strike's effect is the last thing that happens. So all the boosting effects would activate, Strike then copies the current ATK, and it's destroyed.
    Cons:
    - You can't use it with Michion as effectively because it inflicts damage and *THEN* your opponent's LP are halved.
    - Likewise, you can't take advantage of Raphion's effect because there won't be an opponent's monster to select to inflict damage to them.
    - Unlike Raphion, inflicts damage equal to the monster's *ORIGINAL* ATK rather than the ATK it had on the field.
    Zoma The Spirit
    Pros:
    - Can bypass unaffected monsters to inflict damage.
    - Doesn't need your opponent to attack into it to inflict the damage, you can attack into the opposing monster yourself if it's in ATK position.
    - Has 1800 ATK when summoned, so in the above scenario where you attack into an opposing Kaiju you summoned yourself but your opponent didn't use, your opponent would take 3300 damage while you'd only take 1500.
    - Becomes a lv4 monster when summoned so you can use it for XYZ/Synchro plays. Such as summoning Bagooska to stall turns, or Diamond Dire Wolf to get rid of a specific problem card. (both of which blow themselves up letting you summon Timelords again)
    - Can be combined with TA.I. Strike for massive damage since it just needs to be destroyed by battle for its effect to activate. So in that aforementioned Kaiju Scenario, yes, you'll take 1800 damage instead of 1500, but your opponent will take *6600* instead of 3300!
    - Isn't often used so sometimes people attack into it anyway and off themselves right then and there.
    - If you summon it against a Numeron player with 4k ATK Numeron Cards and they boost their ATK they'll die because their ATK boosting effect will put them at 8k before Zoma's effect resolves, damaging them for 8k rather than 4k.
    Cons:
    - Like Mahaama, takes up space on the field so if you can't get rid of it you can't use Timelords.
    - Only has 500 DEF so it's pretty vulnerable to piercing damage.
    - Is summoned in DEF mode so if you want to use it to attack during your turn, you have to summon it at the end of your opponent's turn.
    - Is a Dark Zombie so it's vulnerable to being Super Poly'd into Dark Fusions and even Dragonecro.
    - Is one of the older Trap monsters that's considered both a Trap *AND* a monster when on the field, leaving it vulnerable to both forms of removal.
    - Because of its low DEF, your opponent can attack over it with something weaker if they attacked with their strongest monster first and decided to stop the attack.

@@CYCOMANIAK I've had a Timelord deck since the early days of the game and it was instrumental to my survival in the early months when I was still figuring out all the changes since Millenium Duels. Be sure to take note of my reply in Jessie Gutierrez's comment about Dimension Wall if you haven't already because that card has saved my ass almost as much as TA.I. Strike.
I also forgot something. I noticed that you already had Pot of Extravagance so I didn't think to mention it but Link Apple is still worth considering as a replacement for *ONE* of the Pots. The reason is that Link Apple lets you 1 for 1 draw a card as long as something other than a Link monster is sent to the GY. This is advantageous because, in the event you get Pot off of Pot you can't do anything, but if you get *APPLE* off of Pot, you can still draw. The downside of course is that you only draw 1 card and it's also a hard once per turn, but if you're not going to use more than that anyway then it doesn't matter. It depends on how often you brick on multiple copies of Extravagance.
I also somehow forgot about Pot of Duality, which is also a free 1 for 1 in most situations. Think of it like Pot of Prosperity except you don't have to banish cards or have your opponent take less damage, but in exchange you can't Special Summon (like that matters if you don't have a Kaiju, Maiden, or Sandion) and you only get to see 3 cards instead of possibly 6.

@@CYCOMANIAK Dimensional Fissure isn't bad but it's far from a "must-have." Dimension *_WALL_* on the other hand should be crafted to replace those copies of Magic Cylinder ASAP.
      - Because it's a regular rare, so it's cheap as hell.
      - All but 1 of the Timelords have 0 ATK anyway so 99.99999999999% of the time, the damage will be equivalent to Cylinder, and actually even *more* if your opponent has some sort of double damage effect.
      - It does *NOT* target like Cylinder does so you can use it against things like Blue-Eyes Chaos Max and the like.
      - Not only that, but because the effect targets *PLAYER* as opposed to _monsters,_ things like Blue-Eyes Tyrant and even Ra's Phoenix form/that Link 6 Ignister which are completely unaffected by card effects can stop it. Whereas Cylinder must negate the monster's *attack* before damage can be inflicted.
There are *VERY* few cons to it. The only ones being:
      - It inflicts Battle Damage instead of effect damage. This means that in all cases where it's used you'll have to forgo getting the victory by inflicting effect damage only duel result bonus, or if you're lucky, trading up for inflicting 5k/10k or more.
      - In the rare instance where Sandion is on the field with its effects negated, your opponent attacks over it, *AND* you would die from the damage, activating it likely won't KO your opponent.
Aside from that, Dimension Wall is just a straight-up upgrade.
