Technically, no, Takeru doesn't have the real deal OG Kusanagi. They're a Servant, which means they're a reflection/copy of the original, and that also applies to their NP. Same deal with Ibuki-Douji - she also carries a copy of the Kusanagi, and neither are more powerful than the original artifact. That's why it was such a big deal for Chaldea to get their hands on an original Rhongomyniad or Excalibur in LB6, despite already having a million Artorias - an original version is FAR more powerful than the copies we've summoned.

Koyan Dark wasn’t considered good when she dropped, though. Muramasa was considered among the top farmers in the game when he dropped, in league with Spishtar, Summer Kiara, and Berserker Musashi. Man, Takeru's release and all this Muramasa slander made me realize just how much I've been slacking and letting my Muramasa's lvl120 np5 dmg blindly carry me. I cant upgrade my Muramasa anymore, but i CAN improve as a player. I need to better my utilization of his crits, the timing of the skills, pick the command codes properly instead of blindly spamming cdmg types everywhere (thinking of going star-gather types instead to make up for his inconsistent crits). I'll make him reach his true potential and turn him into the strongest version of himself.
And supports! Experiment with non-meta supports like Sherlock/Lanling/Chiron/Medb/Joan. I imagine Muramasa does will in the Himiko/Castoria team too since he likes to crit and has 2 Buster cards 🤔
17:32 I've always said this. Muramasa's entire kit to me screams buster unit but they made him an arts servant only to fit into the Castoria meta. Koyan can support him way better than her with star bombs, increased star absorption, NP gain with buster cards and cooldown reduction for his critcs to hit harder. I would honestly give him the space ishtar/durga treatment. Allow him to change his NP and face cards to buster for three turns and I belive he would be so much better

I would also argue that Arts Crit, while the least ideal, isn't exactly as weak as Plushie and others think it is. Most of the notable crit-oriented Servants among Sabers have been Arts based, especially among Sabers like Lancelot, Summer Hokusai, Theseus, and Muramasa himself. Even the most recents Arts units we got have ways of crit in their kit that allows them to do more than just beyond farming. The existence of Lady Avalon and Popess Johanna as Arts Crit supports means Lasengle is making a big effort in pushing Arts in this particular field, and having one or both of them means their is room for this niche. Not to mention Gilgamesh Caster, Lanling, and Xu Fu also exist as great alternatives for those who don't have those premier Arts crit supports. One could argue it's still niche but it can't be denied that it exists, has lots of options available, and has proven there is potential legitimacy to this playstyle, especially those who didn't succumb to the braindead meta of farming.

Ever since the addition of Koyanskaya, and after using him for 1 year nonstop (he's almost bond 13 on my NA account), I've felt that Muramasa should have been a buster and not arts. Second, while I agree that we have some supports options for Arts servants that have a critic-oriented skill set, I find indenible that Castoria will always be the Arts support that people will prefer to choose because of how broken she is in that specific department, which is farming and looping, which sadly is 90% of the content in this game. (What I'm going to say it's just a very personal take, but one of the other big reasons for me to want Muramasa to be able to get into the buster meta is so i can just get rid of Castoria, who i have a personal bias against and the less i see her face, the better)

As a Muramasa Fan seeing how good Takeru is on general does make me a bit sad and also wonder if they'll buff Muramasa now to make him able to adapt to the 90++ content. One idea of a buff could be on Muramasa first skill since both EMIYA and EMIYA Alter already got a buff on Trace On, the buff could be making the rainbow buff be 3 attacks, 3 turns, and change Muramasa NP for 2 Turns between arts and buster enabling buster reload, that would be quite fitting for him being a copy of the other 2. But maybe that would be a bit too powerful😅.
Muramasa has no problem farming lancer 90++. You don't have to worry about getting takeru if you have np2 muramasa. He can do 90++ if it's lancer of course.
Idk why you’d ever want to change an AoE Arts unit to Buster Like, look at Spishtar I’d much rather them extend the Arts buff duration or give him a niche on his NP
In my opinion what gimp Muramasa is that they gave him a generic kit and didn't update but its likely that they will eventually buff especially now that he overthrown now
one thing that isnt talked about is that 50% art down with a 20% def down makes it a pretty crazy np to stack other offensives art nps on top of it . considering his high refunded and split battery it wouldnt be that crazy to have him np down a previous wave then have him and your 2nd dps np down the 3rd wave .
Although it's a pretty strong NP, calling it a "ST NP with Splash Damage" is a bit of a stretch considering he won't be hitting ST Saber numbers like Hajime or similars unless he's at a pretty high NP level, if we get stuff like the 1M HP Enkidu in Summer 7 he would just lack damage even if he can refund enough. Of course, an issue that can be solved with whaling, like most issues in gacha games.
Math wise he is close with the 50% arts resist down, he’d still be under hajime, but would be comparable to some weaker sts, probably would out damage an np5 thesus
Best part is that takeru in game says that he killed demons, gods, and foreign kings so his anti trait should have anti king aswell but they didnt want muramasa fans to cope that much. Also i saw a guy saying that takeru cant crit with oberon np and thats just a bit too funny to me
That ST Arts resist down on the NP should be good in battles where you have one big boss enemy and "unlimited" mobs that keep coming in until you kill the boss. The Arts down will let you snowball damage on the boss, and the mobs will help you to keep looping. Some CQs and Raids are like that, too.
I'm not surprised. Power creep is a thing after all. Just means there's a better option out there if people want to save or plan that way. And no surprise with Muramasa having been out for so long that they'd actually get around to polishing the concept of an AOE saber. Either way it doesn't impact my plans too much. Lot of good AOE arts options.
I have never encountered a turn where you have to use muramasa's first skill before turn 3 while using oberon. That's literally a total of 220% NP charge for all of them. Muramasa refunds at least 20% per enemy. so you only need like what four enemies for that. Unless you're talking about super specific 90++ Nodes where the 2nd turn is just one enemy. But even so you can probably still do it because the team just has a lot of battery.

I put Takeru at the same level/tier as Durga and Old Ptolemy, amazing but boring (note, boring doesn't mean a bad thing so calm down) But yeah Takeru is straight up an upgrade from Muramasa
Plushie always does comparisons on NP1, if you go NP3 his damage will easily outshine Takeru and almost match Takeru NP1 hitting single anti trait. This game punishes you more for going for every servant over dupes

TBH I'm genuinely not interested in him, both as a character and gameplay I rarely use arts , and when i do i always pick ibuki Plus old man is coooool (atleast when he fires his np at ascension 1/2)
Regardless of how much better Samurai Saber is than Smith Saber, I'm still glad I have Muramasa. Both because I have him now, not waiting two years for an Arts AOE Saber, and because he's Shirou with a badass NP and theme song. No regrets for rolling him a year ago, and I will wait and see how much I might want the Waterbender when 2026 comes around.
NA has 2 years to stew on this. I know it’s kind of childish to consider, but I kinda hope by the time Takeru comes out, they drop another Arts saber that surpasses Takeru. It would be like there’s always a bigger fish kinda thing
Muramasa has always been outclassed if you're talking about purely farming. Charlie and Okitan are probably the only looping sabers that are 100% reliable and absolutely no one touches Saber Alter in the buster meta.

Por el otro lado Muramasa tiene un set de skills más apropiado para un crit dmg dealer que el de Takeru el cuál es más refund/np charge con dos baterías y un “por si acaso y alguien muere”. Si le dan el buff a Muramasa deberían dárselo a cualquier skill que tenga ya que todas están falta de algo y si se lo dan al np debería de ser puro daño y sin ningún efecto añadido y ya porque también está muy roto. El es cómo Yang Guifei pre-buff. Muy buena foreigner, daño increíble y tal pero se quedaba corta. I would be more confused if literally one of the strongest Servants in Japanese history WAS weaker in gameplay than an old swordmaster who spends every other cutscene telling you he's not that powerful just specialised for slaying gods and merely happens to be sharing a random F/SN character's body

It's just a high end meta question. The casual answer to this is ironically Summer Ibuki. Me personally I enjoy Muramasa. And just because a servant released that farms better than the swordsmith doesn't make him worse. Doesn't matter who you have of the 2 your going to be fine.
Yeah people kinda underrate takeru/overrate muramasa, I'm leaning towards takeru being at worse a slight upgrade and at best a noticable improvement, yet quite a few people only called takeru a side grade. The issues muramasa had at launch are the reasons he can't keep up with takeru, seriously his skill 2 doesn't synergize well with the rest of his kit that well cause he has low hit counts and yeah the big invul related stuff is only 1 turn, i think they could give muramasa an edge to buff it by making the invul related buffs to last 3 turns, and give him maybe 15 stars per turn to offset his low hit counts stopping the 100% star gen from actually doing anything.
If they ever give upgrade for Muramasa, what do you think they will enhance (skill or np)? And what kind of buff? Just curious because his NP gain is really weak even with DCS.
Two ways I could think of Karmic Eye has all of his effects lasts for 3 turns, including the ignore invincibility and bonus critical damage against units with evasion or invincibility. Flames now trigger on NP and not just only on normal attacks, while also giving him an ATK buff of 20%-30%.
I would either buff his skill 2 to have all effects last 3 turns and add a 10 stars prr turn so that he can always crit, buff skill 1 to be a 3 turn star weight up with a 3 hit rainbow buff for 3 turns so that he can always absorb stars even when he has less than 20 of them, or buff his np and add additional ramp up like lets say a 50% arts crit damage for 3 turns.
Arts Down on his NP is useless Debuff Immune boss gimmicks... Muramasa lacks this issue as he buffs his Arts Cards for 3 turns per NP. They both share the buff block weakness of course... So you could also say if the boss can buff block but lacks any Debuff Immune gimmicks, the Takeru can rely on Arts face cards directly after his NP. So that's one very niche scenario she beats him out. But in CQs Muramasa can also exploit Oberon's NP so that his skill 2 can super crit an enemy with Invulnerability while any other enemies remain asleep for the turn. Takeru lacks this capability in his own kit. In farming, Arts Down for face cards is useless as you can push NP damage with Oberon and other buff stacking to the point you don't *need* to card anymore and loop succefully. An issue Muramasa once again lacks he can loop without carding. This Muramasa's Arts Up is superior to Takeru's Arts Down/Reverse Arts Up as it affects *ALL* enemies. Something that becomes difficult to ignore in situations where 6 enemies are on-screen. Takeru targeting ONE enemy in a group of 6 enemies for the purposes of looping defeats his case. Relying on having Arts cards after each NP is playing with RNG. Muramasa stacking his Arts Card Up buffs which doesn't rely on RNG evidently makes him better. And more importantly, Takeru can't carry his Arts Card Down Debuff to subsequent waves. The design reminds me of Saber Fran. Where she has a ST NP with and AOE Debuff, Takeru has the reverse. He instead has an AOE NP with a ST Debuff. Also... Writing this I'm realising I've been jebaited by this *"hot take"* lol. This must be a 4 head, 3D chess move by Plushie to get Muramasa buffed by making Lasengle think he sucks now LOL (may or may not be copium)

I think Muramasa has clear advantage in CQ/Boss content. Invul pierce and an extra 100% crit against it, def-ignoring np and offensive buff strip. Also his gains on single target are really good considering his extra 10% on any card from his third skill. Sure, you can loop better with Takeru on st with better damage but as soon as the fight presents any difficulty, Muramasa is just better. Defense on an arts team is called castoria lol but yeah, Takeru farms better and farming is the majority of the game.
OK so I have a really petty complaint with Takeru. I love the idea of "Single-target NP that's so strong it splashes onto the side adds," but I really wish they'd represented that with NP Resist Down instead of Arts Resist Down. Not even for mechanical reasons; I just think it would feel cooler. (Obligatory 0/10 literally unplayable.)
Takeru makes me legitimately happy that I never got Muramasa and I’ll probably never pull for muramasa now. Yamato just moonwalked through most of Olympus with zero diff even type neutral. The only fights I didn’t use him for were Demeter, Zeus and Kirsh. My Takeru was only 5/2/8 for most of that run too since I was farming for pure prisms to finish his battery skills

Takeru may have a better gameplay, but gramp's animation are way much better (well, atleast for me)

They went all out for muramasa animations, and the np theme is so good
Although it's a pretty strong NP, calling it a "ST NP with Splash Damage" is a bit of a stretch considering he won't be hitting ST Saber numbers like Hajime or similars unless he's at a pretty high NP level, if we get stuff like the 1M HP Enkidu in Summer 7 he would just lack damage even if he can refund enough.
Of course, an issue that can be solved with whaling, like most issues in gacha games.
ST dmg with splash dmg type usually has lower dmg compare to pure ST dmg to compensate so not really much of a stretch to call it that
Math wise he is close with the 50% arts resist down, he’d still be under hajime, but would be comparable to some weaker sts, probably would out damage an np5 thesus
The 1 turn NP dmg up on his 3 turn Arts skill just pisses me off so much for no reason.
I view it as, like, helping them burst past beefy W1 or W2 enemies in 90++, since you can Oberon on W3 anyway

Best part is that takeru in game says that he killed demons, gods, and foreign kings so his anti trait should have anti king aswell but they didnt want muramasa fans to cope that much. Also i saw a guy saying that takeru cant crit with oberon np and thats just a bit too funny to me

That ST Arts resist down on the NP should be good in battles where you have one big boss enemy and "unlimited" mobs that keep coming in until you kill the boss. The Arts down will let you snowball damage on the boss, and the mobs will help you to keep looping. Some CQs and Raids are like that, too.
If Takeru somehow got a emergency buff, my bet is skill 3 which make the np dmg up become 3 hit for 3 turn, same as some similar servant recently.
I'm not surprised. Power creep is a thing after all.
Just means there's a better option out there if people want to save or plan that way. And no surprise with Muramasa having been out for so long that they'd actually get around to polishing the concept of an AOE saber. Either way it doesn't impact my plans too much. Lot of good AOE arts options.

I have never encountered a turn where you have to use muramasa's first skill before turn 3 while using oberon. That's literally a total of 220% NP charge for all of them. Muramasa refunds at least 20% per enemy. so you only need like what four enemies for that. Unless you're talking about super specific 90++ Nodes where the 2nd turn is just one enemy. But even so you can probably still do it because the team just has a lot of battery.

Plushie always does comparisons on NP1, if you go NP3 his damage will easily outshine Takeru and almost match Takeru NP1 hitting single anti trait. This game punishes you more for going for every servant over dupes

Regardless of how much better Samurai Saber is than Smith Saber, I'm still glad I have Muramasa. Both because I have him now, not waiting two years for an Arts AOE Saber, and because he's Shirou with a badass NP and theme song. No regrets for rolling him a year ago, and I will wait and see how much I might want the Waterbender when 2026 comes around.

Muramasa has always been outclassed if you're talking about purely farming. Charlie and Okitan are probably the only looping sabers that are 100% reliable and absolutely no one touches Saber Alter in the buster meta.
all anyone has to say is: 8 hit arts AOE with high attack. That more or less sells him on the spot.

@@otakuelric7782 En base a sus skills y np en comparación con los de Takeru se nota que Muramasa tira más por los críticos que por el np spam. 3 golpes en el np en contra de los 8 golpes y un arts down que Takeru hace es simplemente absurdo he incluso con doble Castoria se hace complicado hacer que Muramasa haga refund propiamente porque o le falta hacer más daño o le faltará golpear más veces.
Por el otro lado Muramasa tiene un set de skills más apropiado para un crit dmg dealer que el de Takeru el cuál es más refund/np charge con dos baterías y un “por si acaso y alguien muere”. Si le dan el buff a Muramasa deberían dárselo a cualquier skill que tenga ya que todas están falta de algo y si se lo dan al np debería de ser puro daño y sin ningún efecto añadido y ya porque también está muy roto.
El es cómo Yang Guifei pre-buff. Muy buena foreigner, daño increíble y tal pero se quedaba corta. Le dieron el buff este de más estrellas y el taunt de todos los enemigos y no solo los males y se volvió la mejor arts single target foreigner hasta la fecha.

It's just a high end meta question. The casual answer to this is ironically Summer Ibuki. Me personally I enjoy Muramasa. And just because a servant released that farms better than the swordsmith doesn't make him worse. Doesn't matter who you have of the 2 your going to be fine.

Yeah people kinda underrate takeru/overrate muramasa, I'm leaning towards takeru being at worse a slight upgrade and at best a noticable improvement, yet quite a few people only called takeru a side grade. The issues muramasa had at launch are the reasons he can't keep up with takeru, seriously his skill 2 doesn't synergize well with the rest of his kit that well cause he has low hit counts and yeah the big invul related stuff is only 1 turn, i think they could give muramasa an edge to buff it by making the invul related buffs to last 3 turns, and give him maybe 15 stars per turn to offset his low hit counts stopping the 100% star gen from actually doing anything.
Give one of his skill apply invul on enemy

If they ever give upgrade for Muramasa, what do you think they will enhance (skill or np)? And what kind of buff? Just curious because his NP gain is really weak even with DCS.
Two ways I could think of
Karmic Eye has all of his effects lasts for 3 turns, including the ignore invincibility and bonus critical damage against units with evasion or invincibility.
Flames now trigger on NP and not just only on normal attacks, while also giving him an ATK buff of 20%-30%.
I would either buff his skill 2 to have all effects last 3 turns and add a 10 stars prr turn so that he can always crit, buff skill 1 to be a 3 turn star weight up with a 3 hit rainbow buff for 3 turns so that he can always absorb stars even when he has less than 20 of them, or buff his np and add additional ramp up like lets say a 50% arts crit damage for 3 turns.

Arts Down on his NP is useless Debuff Immune boss gimmicks...
Muramasa lacks this issue as he buffs his Arts Cards for 3 turns per NP.
They both share the buff block weakness of course... So you could also say if the boss can buff block but lacks any Debuff Immune gimmicks, the Takeru can rely on Arts face cards directly after his NP. So that's one very niche scenario she beats him out.
But in CQs Muramasa can also exploit Oberon's NP so that his skill 2 can super crit an enemy with Invulnerability while any other enemies remain asleep for the turn.
Takeru lacks this capability in his own kit.
In farming, Arts Down for face cards is useless as you can push NP damage with Oberon and other buff stacking to the point you don't *need* to card anymore and loop succefully.
An issue Muramasa once again lacks he can loop without carding.
This Muramasa's Arts Up is superior to Takeru's Arts Down/Reverse Arts Up as it affects *ALL* enemies. Something that becomes difficult to ignore in situations where 6 enemies are on-screen.
Takeru targeting ONE enemy in a group of 6 enemies for the purposes of looping defeats his case.
Relying on having Arts cards after each NP is playing with RNG. Muramasa stacking his Arts Card Up buffs which doesn't rely on RNG evidently makes him better.
And more importantly, Takeru can't carry his Arts Card Down Debuff to subsequent waves.
The design reminds me of Saber Fran.
Where she has a ST NP with and AOE Debuff, Takeru has the reverse. He instead has an AOE NP with a ST Debuff.

I think Muramasa has clear advantage in CQ/Boss content. Invul pierce and an extra 100% crit against it, def-ignoring np and offensive buff strip. Also his gains on single target are really good considering his extra 10% on any card from his third skill. Sure, you can loop better with Takeru on st with better damage but as soon as the fight presents any difficulty, Muramasa is just better. Defense on an arts team is called castoria lol but yeah, Takeru farms better and farming is the majority of the game.

OK so I have a really petty complaint with Takeru. I love the idea of "Single-target NP that's so strong it splashes onto the side adds," but I really wish they'd represented that with NP Resist Down instead of Arts Resist Down. Not even for mechanical reasons; I just think it would feel cooler.

Takeru makes me legitimately happy that I never got Muramasa and I’ll probably never pull for muramasa now. Yamato just moonwalked through most of Olympus with zero diff even type neutral. The only fights I didn’t use him for were Demeter, Zeus and Kirsh. My Takeru was only 5/2/8 for most of that run too since I was farming for pure prisms to finish his battery skills
