- The Skoda Karoq Continues to Impress as a Practical Family SUV
In the competitive small SUV segment, the Skoda Karoq stands out as a well-rounded option that prioritizes comfort and practicality.
This Czech contender, sitting between the compact Kamiq and larger Kodiaq in Skoda's lineup, offers a compelling package for families seeking a versatile daily driver.
Under the hood, the Karoq provides a range of efficient powertrains. While the entry-level 1.0 TSI 116 is adequate for urban duties, our pick is the gutsy 1.5 TSI 150. This 148-hp petrol engine delivers smooth performance and a respectable 0-60 mph time of just under 9 seconds. For those needing more grunt, there's a range-topping 2.0 TSI 190 with standard all-wheel drive.

In terms of value, the Karoq is competitively priced and well-equipped. Even the entry-level SE Drive trim comes with essentials like dual-zone climate control and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. We recommend the mid-range SE L for its additional comforts without breaking the bank.
While the Karoq lacks hybrid powertrain options, its efficient engines and strong resale values help keep running costs in check. With its blend of comfort, practicality, and value, the Skoda Karoq remains a top contender in the small SUV class, offering a well-rounded package that's hard to beat for family buyers.
