Honestly I always like how humble ebbers is. He is a really good cook but he knows when someone did better than him. Like in this here - it was clear from when he started to eat james' dish he basically said james had won. Honestly - good job to both tho. Shame I couldnt try any of it. :D

This is the exact reason why the normals (and everyone watching) are so lucky to have Ben mentoring them with cooking. The best type of teacher is the one that can admit they don't know everything, so the learning never stops for themselves and their students.
To me the thing about James (amongst all the other wonderful things about James) is that he really balances out the other four guys. He’s like that extra bit of spice which completes the dish. :) Always great to see you back James!

I instantly get so stupidly happy when James comes back. Because, yeah, as much as I adore Mike, Barry, Jamie and Ben, James will always be my favorite. I hope he comes back again and again. Plus? Both dishes looked really, really good!

Have to compliment the team on upping their mystery box game: so far I’ve seen two mystery boxes where Ben didn’t know all ingredients initially. A true mystery!

Perhaps the lads can try a new format: The Normals are given a community-chosen dish to eat. Afterwards, they have to identify the ingredients that went into the dish. Next, they must make up and write a recipe for the Chefs to follow, just based on visuals and taste. The Normal with the best/closest dish possible wins.
LOVE to see James back! I really miss seeing him often, but he seems to be very satisfied now. He just seems to have some new energy and spark, so I'm happy for him and wishing him all the best! But, of course, he shuld still come back as often as he can 😉 The whole video was great, I love how the competition with James affected Ben. Even the editing seemed energetic, it's great to watch!

James’ improv is fantastic, he thinks on his feet so fast, a true professional. Ebbers is a no waste KING and doesn’t even hesitate when presented with his ingredients.
I am literally at the point in the video where they have just finished cookin, and not looking at the finished dish but keeping in mind the work that went into it, all I can think about is: How on earth did the chefs do all of that in 30 minutes?🤯 Both dishes look stunning, btw!

Okay question that's been bothering me for a while: if these are done consecutively, is the first dish cold by the time they get to the tasting? Do they keep it in the oven on low or something, and does that make any difference?
By the time they've done the photography both are cold. It's true of almost every cooking show. The only time it will be eaten hot is when they do staggered start times or if they're serving it straight to guests.
Ive heard them say ‘lets eat it while its hot’ a few times, so to me this definitely implies the fact that it’s usually cold when they eat it because of the photos they take :)

Always love having James back. The entire team brings something unique to the group dynamic; and James just really fits perfectly with that. The series is still great regardless; but it's that little extra specialness with him there.

My favorite episode will always be the episode where James and Ebbers teamed up to make the normals an Easter course. Seeing two chefs working together in their best form making amazing food is just so beautiful and mesmerizing.
Always so much fun to have James back, and chef vs chef battles are always my fave. It would be awesome to have both James and Poppy in for the day, with them each mentoring a normal for a bit, and Ben judging the end results!

My favourite thing about the Chef vs Chef series is how it pushes each chef to step it up and be better. A friendly competition between experts is such a fun thing to see.
What a treat! The food looked great😋, and it's always fun to watch two chefs starting with the same things and showing us how to get two different end results. Even when there were so many seemingly parallel decisions, down to the same bowl 🫣😃 Plus, you have got to love how James can come back for a visit and still have that comfortable old-friend vibe. Loved the bloopers, they were fantastic.🤣 All around a great episode but with a bonus, James and big laughs during the bloopers.
I like it when James comes back. It kind of has the feeling of all of your sons coming together for the first time in years (and James is the one who lives in Australia so finds it difficult to return frequently). I like having the sons all back together. I do not have children.

instead of watching this after dinner and then craving healthy and delicious looking food, i instead watched this beforehand and now made my own 'normals' version of this dish realising i had plenty butter beans and leeks lying around. so thank you! going to eat now~

These mystery box battles are usually great, but this one stands out. The ingredients were very unexpected, and the way they managed to even come up with an idea of how to use them, let alone their execution, was outright impressive.
Loved seeing James back! I would like to see the chefs do a challenge where they have to cook a specific dish as a normal would, and the normals cooking the same dish and then seeing how close they come.
Good to see the big guy back. He always seems to be above it all but when he comes at a dish with creativity in one fist and talent in the other and like a metallurgist creates a wonderful dish it is great (I had to throw the blacksmith image in because of his arms). Good video, good to see Mike and Jamie on their toes, instead of being the mischief makers of the kitchen.

I looked at the greens and went "METHI!". Fenugreek leaves or methi is a staple in Indian cooking and one of my favourite ingredients to play with!

I agree, but it's been fun having other chiefs on as well, like Poppy, that wouldn't have if James never left.

These mystery box battles are usually great, but this one stands out. The ingredients were very unexpected, and the way they managed to even come up with an idea of how to use them, let alone their execution, was outright impressive.

Loved seeing James back! I would like to see the chefs do a challenge where they have to cook a specific dish as a normal would, and the normals cooking the same dish and then seeing how close they come.

Good to see the big guy back. He always seems to be above it all but when he comes at a dish with creativity in one fist and talent in the other and like a metallurgist creates a wonderful dish it is great (I had to throw the blacksmith image in because of his arms). Good video, good to see Mike and Jamie on their toes, instead of being the mischief makers of the kitchen.
Currently hunkered down at home because "the worst blizzard in decades" is happening right now, in the middle of spring BUT I'm SO GLAD it's Wednesday so I get to watch a new sorted video, with James in it as well!! Woohoo!

I just started watching SortedFood videos and Jamie and Mike commenting on the side really helps viewers “get” the food. Also I love their dynamics.
You guys should have a Battle where ben makes the worst kind a dishes you could ever eat and have the normals figure out what main component you used.
