I got my boyfriend into watching your videos with me but he hates that we hardly (if at all, sometimes) see the entire piece of furniture. Thank you so much for inspiring us with your creativity! Part way through, Every time i feel like throwing the piece in the trash but i pray for faith and keep pushing on and always get something that I am really pleased with. MY biggest mistake is usually trying to rush too much

Hello Levi I’m everyone so much. I love this dresser probably my favorite. Hugs and love to everyone. Lights to show darks is what Bob Ross always taught. Lol
Ohhh I was at that class! I’m so glad you shared this story…brought back some super fun memories. Every time I paint I learn new things… thanks for this video now I wanna jump into my pigments! Love this dresser you created.
I love this dresser AND the story!! Inspiring ❤️ Thank you for your teaching. It’s practice, practice and more practice! I totally agree with the warm up on a canvas!! Do test ideas on a canvas also!!
This turned out beautiful! I think it’s very cool that you’ve continued to work on mastering the blending. It must feel good as you crack the code! And so helpful to be able to guide other people. I think you discovered a couple big keys… using smaller brushes sometimes and much less paint. If you think about the paint, at the edges you need half as much of each color, or less, to allow the colors to mix, or to let a base color peek through… if there is too much paint, there’s just nowhere to go with it, without just obliterating whatever is beneath or creating harder edges. I love the colors in this piece too!
Thank you Angela :) yes it's very interesting how the amount of paint matters. It seems like more paint at the start, and then tiny amounts for the finishing details is key : )
Really lovin the dresser and the video is so good! Love seeing all the quest appearances! Looking forward to seeing more content and more stories!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
it was so fun to bring in other artists, they are amazing and great teachers, I linked their channels in the description box, lots of really good videos from them!

Candice❤️❤️❤️ I’m so glad you love DIY Petit it is such an awesome unique product and so fun to use. Glad you are enjoying the videos and I hope you have the most fun creating, thanks for watching!
Debi I absolutely love your paint! But, I for the life of me I don't know what I am doing wrong. I put on my base coat. I wait - 1 day, 2 days and try the next coat to blend. It always pulls the base coat and I mess up. Maybe I press too hard. I don't know. I guess just keep on trying. I have canvas' for all my grandkids and they paint with your paint. I love a pic my granddaughter did of a palm tree and her sunset behind it. She hasn't finished and then I will post for you to see. She is 5.
My guess would be without actually watching you paint is that you are pressing too hard if you watch this video you will see that I am using a very light touch with the brush. Also the water bottle helps with the second coat, if your brush starts to drag that’s when you will see the pulling up of the bottom coat. Because our paint is so different than most other paints a few adjustments will help you have success. I would also suggest using a brush that has synthetic soft bristles. Once you get used to it it becomes second nature. If you would like more help you can join the Facebook group we have where you can post video clips of what’s happening that will help me help you troubleshoot Sheri ❤️

Thanks for sharing! It turned out lovely as most of your pieces do in the end! My tips on how to shift the artist struggle is to not always have a picture or an outcome in mind but to just let it become what’s inside of you as you mesh with the architecture of the piece of furniture. It can be frustrating when we have a preset image of what we are trying to make something look like so we get caught up in mechanics & techniques. There is a time for learning & trying art techniques but there is also a mode of just connecting with a piece & letting it direct you into what you & it feel it should become. Maybe try it with only a general color scheme in mind & just see what happens!
@@DebisDesignDiary you can do it too! You’re putting pressure on yourself to recreate an image but you are talented enough to create & not just recreate ya know?! Question: do I need to reapply wax to a piece periodically after painting? If so, how often?
Good question
Sometimes going back to your roots is the best move. When a step up means you'll lose yourself then it's time to remember what made you happy.
