    +alfredo gonzalez please enable replies if you want a reply. Yes, of course you need a radio module at both ends. The source code for this is at the link in the description, and I think I have covered pretty much everything else at one time or another in my previous videos. About the battery for the target tag, I just connected a 2S lipo to the GND and RAW pins on the pro-mini.

    nice project!!! we can use hc 05 bluetooth for this project right?
    please, make a video tutorial about how to make arduino follow me using hc 05 bluetooth module. thank you!

      if not, please answer me... can we using android gps as a master?(without tiny gps)

    • @iforce2d
      @iforce2d  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you feel like writing an android app to access the GPS, and then relay the location data over bluetooth, sure I guess it could be done. But it's much more hard work than using arduino, and you would get very poor range.

    • @CaraAmar
      @CaraAmar 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you for the answer, you're nice guy!
      and sorry for bad english, i mean...
      - can we replace tiny gps with android gps to make arduino follow our android phone?
      - or is this possible to replace tiny gps with arduino gps module or gps shield(and connect it to the rf24+ antenna with nano board)? i just want to know if we can replace tiny gps with something like gps module.
      that is my last question(I'm very curious), i hope u'll answer it, thank you.

    • @iforce2d
      @iforce2d  8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I just answered that. You would need to make an android app which is much more work, for less benefit.
      I am using an arduino GPS module in this video. TinyGPS is the source code that works with the module, you need them both together.arduiniana.org/libraries/tinygps/

    Hi, Can you probably make a video to explain the concept for GPS-follow approach. I really want to code this to my quadcopter sketch. I can use your code but I am really curious to know the principle how it works so intelligently.

    • @iforce2d
      @iforce2d  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Gurpreet Singh for a quadcopter you could just overwrite the GPS home location with the location from the gps tag

    This is awesome. I wanted to set up 2 cars. The front car would be driven normally with transmitter and receiver. The car in the rear would have a camera mounted on it and could follow it and film it. Not sure if that's possible but it sure would be cool. 👍👍

    could you easily incorporate an ultrasonic object detect module and break out of the code to an elseif when it's sensed movement stopped and an object interference and have it reverse to the right and left and then break out and start the loop to follow again?

      You can use hc-05 or hc-06 modules instead of RF module. There are many apps avaiable that you can download from Play Store or App Store. Within the app you can send the GPS data to arduino over serial.

    Hello, Good afternoon, can you please check if you can help me? I have an electric vehicle chassis, (COMPLETE motor / battery) that supports up to 500 kg of load and I need a "Follow-Me" feature to use in this chassis, how do I? Where can I buy it? what would be the cost? Is there interest in attending to me? , because here if I can, present this project and it is approved, for the next 12 months, there will be more than 100 projects that I will have to prepare, so this my request could become a good business for those who have involved

    +iforced2d Hi, me and other guys from my school in Mexico are working on something very similar and your video it's the only project we could found that's similar to what we want to do, it would help us a lot if you could guide us in some stuff, like how do you power the stuff that follows the car? i don't see any battery and how do you make the comunication between that and the arduino in the car? do both have to have a radio module? if you could explained a little bit more how you do it it would really mean a lot to us we are a little lost, sorry if a write something wrong my english is a little rusty, I hope you see this comment lol

    Hi!!! I am really amazed about your work!! I am looking forward to do it one day... I am curious how do you make the wheels turn... you said in the other video that it has a compass, but I don't really understand the concept how a compass can make the wheels turn.... Thanks for the answer even if you can or not answer it... Have a good day!!

    • @iforce2d
      @iforce2d  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The compass only tells the car which direction it is facing. The wheels are turned by the speed controller. In between these is the microcontroller, which reads the compass and GPS and decides how fast to turn the wheels, and which way the steering should go.

    The follow-me mode has been already succesfully realized in Ardupilot open source project for a car-drones

    • @iforce2d
      @iforce2d  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Chevan2008 ah, so I shouldn't bother making my own? In any case it seems there is no follow-me mode for ground vehicles in Ardupilot at the moment.

    • @Chevan2008
      @Chevan2008 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** You may and you shoud)))) For fun or self-education. Many peoples do invent the vehicles , which have been already invented before. But if to go furter - just take the existed and adopt it to you needs. It's more easy and effective IMO. Plus the ArduRover does use the IMU, not just GPS for self-controlling. And it may to avoid the obsacles now using the ultrasound sensor. The follow me mode have been already realized for ardurover as a part of "Guded mode" diydrones.com/group/ardurover-user-group/forum/topics/follow-me-mode

    • @iforce2d
      @iforce2d  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chevan2008 I see, looks good. I don't have any ardupilot hardware though and I wanted to make it from the beginning to understand everything - it's only a few hundred lines of code and I learned a lot making it.

    Can you get the sheep to pass the japanese driving exam ?
    Now that would require some major "intelligence" programming ! ; D
    BTW - I think if you used the HC-SR04 ultra sonic modules to do curb/obstacle avoidance, it would make a good step up!

    • @iforce2d
      @iforce2d  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      True! I think he is a long way off that yet though :)
      Actually I was just thinking, why didn't I attach the front bumper that came with the car kit, it might have avoided the GPS breaking. Eventually I want to use this stuff on a helicopter, so I'm not too worried about obstacles for now.

      ***** Thats Interesting. I was thinking how cool it would be to have the rover be a mobile platform that the quadrotor could take off and land back onto : )
      And if it could land back autonomously, extra bonus points for sure. Kids would go nuts. I would try it myself, if I could do it.
