  • In this second installment of our street conversations we discuss Zionism, Israel, Palestine and the war in Gaza.
In times like these we rarely have the opportunity to talk face-to-face with one another. In the hopes of bringing that opportunity back, we set up some chairs and a camera and invited people to ask us anything.

For example Iraq displaced 100k juice should take the same amount of Palestinian
Germany and many other European countries displaced millions should accept millions.. Etc
The weak "Palestinians" should accept the rules of the strong "juice"
I'm using the word juice in order not to get banned

As an Israeli I was deeply disappionted by the ignorance, I axpected more knowlege from jewish people.
Modern zionism is a secular movement, all it is is the right for jewish people to have a land in their ancestors land. Almost half of the people of Israel are left wing liberals who wants the 2 state solution, and don't hate Palestinians, all we want from them is to recognize the exsistance of Israel and stop using terror and wars to kick us out, we have no where else to go!!, I am 3rd ganoration in Jerusalem, my grandparents had to leave Iraq because they were persecuted, finally we have a home where we feel safe and not at mercy of others, yet people are trying to ruin the legitamacy of Israel by spreding lies about what zionism is. It is not colonialism, ethnic clensing and all of that, it is our right to continue to live in the land along side the Palestinians who allways refues to accept our long connection to the land too.

According to polls only 26 percent believe in two states, and it will only go down as the two sides become more extreme. You are openly lying. The fact it is a secular movement proves that it didn't originally had to do anything with creating a jewish state but to be a European colony for Ashkenazi jews alienated from their identity. It's not the fault of Jews but mainly of the british that created the conditions for it.

    Zionism:
    The Rebirth of a Nation
A continuous Jewish presence in Israel for over 3,000 years.
    1. Zion is an age-old name for Jerusalem and the land of Israel. Zionism is the national liberation movement of the Jewish people who sought to restore their freedom and independence in their ancestral homeland.
    2. Theodore Herzl founded morden Zionist movement in 1897, but the dream of restoration and return had always been at the core of Judaism and Jewish identity. Roma tried to obliterate the millenna-old Jewish state in the first century. But unlike other nations conquered in ancient times, the Jews survived and never lost their profound attachment to their land of origin. Jews lived in the land of Israel continuously for 3,000 years. Those forced into exile expressed their yearning to return in their daily liturgy and prayers. For 2,000 years, many came back in periodic waves of immigration. By the late 1860s. Jews once again were the mijority in Jerusalem.
    3. Zionists adapted this historic dream to modern political ideals and circumstances. They were inspired by national liberation movements and driven by ongoing anti-Jewish persecution and discrimination that occurred even in progressive Europe. The Zionists believed that if tge scatted Jews reunited in their historic homeland, joining the Jews who were already there, they could restore their freedom, be free prejudice and further develop their unique culture.
    4. Disagreements arose among Zionists as Jews from different countries and with different ideologies - religious and scular, socialist and conservative - joined toghter. But they united around fundamental principles that combined idealism and practicality. They would seek official support from other national govermments. They wwould return legally, purchase the land and restore it through their own labor. Zionists envisioned living in friendship with non-Jewish residents and believed the entire region would benefit from their restoration of the land.
    5. Within 50 years, the Zionist dream became a reality. Britain recognized the thrivibg communities Jews had built and in the 1917 Balfour Declaration, endorsed the "Zionist aspirations". In 1920, the League of Nations reinforced this commitment and carved out the Palestine Mandate from the defeated Ottoman Empire for the Jewish homeland.
    6. On May 14, 1948, Israel was reestablushed as a modern state and recognized by the community of nations. It lived up to the Zionist dream. Israel began with a Jewish majority that had purchased and settled the land and accorded full civil, political and cultural rights to all its minorities, including Arabs, Muslims and Christians.
Today Jewish and non-Jewish Zionists arpund the world support the State of Israel and hope to see the full Zionist vision realized - a safe and thriving Israel living at peace with it neighbors. 🇮🇱💙

Gd gave land to each nation, the land of the Jewish nation is Israel, just like India is for Indians. The British conquered India and gave it back to the Indians. The Muslims conquered Israel, lost it in a war they started with the Jews and refuse to give up what never was theirs to be taken. The conflict will end when the Palestinians accept their losses and start building a life worth living for their children.

Politicians feed on conflict. People feed on politicians. The media feed both. The problem is misinformation. The real problem, though, is human idiocy. Put simply, human idiocy is nationalism. With nationalism comes borders, physical and perceptual, and these two lead to prejudice and discrimination, which in turn feed politicians who feed the media which feeds people who start to think that they are right, and start to hate.

Thank you guys for another great video. I've really enjoyed how you engage with people in such an open manner. A lot of people are quite angry these days, as I am sure you know, with the actions of the state of Israel, and the impunity that it enjoys because of the diplomatic cover that the US gives it. They're angry that the media narrative is lopsided in favor of Israel and that any debate is shut down. They are angry that any criticism of Israel immediately leads to the "antisemitic" accusation. They're angry about Israel and AIPAC's meddling in US politics. So I truly commend you for engaging with people... I just wish the media would have such open discussions, that there would be more intellectual honesty about antisemitism vs criticism of a foreign nation. Particularly if you are American and your tax dollars are funding that nation.

Facts about Israel that the haters of Israel don’t like: 👇
*1.* Israel became a state in 1312 B.C.E., two millennia before Islam.
*2.* Arab refugees from Israel began calling themselves “Palestinians” in 1964, almost two decades after (modern) Israeli statehood in 1948.
*3.* After conquering the land in 1272 B.C.E., Jews ruled it for a thousand years and maintained a continuous presence there for 3,300 years.
*4.* The only Arab rule following conquest in 633 B.C.E. lasted just 22 years.
*5.* For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem was the Jewish capital. It was never the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even under Jordanian rule, (East) Jerusalem was not made the capital, and no Arab leader came to visit it.
*6.* Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the bible, but not once is it mentioned in the Qur’an.
*7.* King David founded Jerusalem; Mohammed never set foot in it.
*8.* Jews pray facing Jerusalem; Muslims face Mecca. If they are between the two cities, Muslims pray facing Mecca, with their backs to Jerusalem.
*9.* In 1948, Arab leaders urged their people to leave, promising to cleanse the land of Jewish presence. 68% of them fled without ever setting eyes on an Israeli soldier.
*10.* Virtually the entire Jewish population of Muslim countries had to flee as the result of violence and pogroms.
*11.* Some 630,000 Arabs left Israel in 1948, while close to a million Jews were forced to leave the Muslim countries.
*12.* In spite of the vast territories at their disposal, Arab refugees were deliberately prevented from assimilating into their host countries. Of 100 million refugees following World War 2, they are the only group tohave never integrated with their co-religionists. Most of the Jewish refugees from Europe and Arab lands were settled in Israel,a country no larger than New Jersey, USA.
*13.* There are 58 Muslim countries, not counting Palestine. There is only one Jewish state.
*14.* Fatah and Hamas constitutions still call for the destruction of Israel.
Israel ceded most of the west bank and all of Gaza to the Palestinian authority, and even provided it with arms.
*15.* During the Jordanian occupation, Jewish holy sites were vandalized and were off limits to Jews. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian holy sites are accessible to all faiths.
*16.* Out of 175 United Nations Security Council resolutions up to 1990, 97 were against Israel; out of 690 general assembly resolutions, 429 were against Israel.
*17.* The U.N. was silent when the Jordanians destroyed 58 synagogues in the old city of Jerusalem. It remained silent while Jordan systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives, and it remained silent when Jordan enforced apartheid laws preventing Jews from accessing the temple mount and western wall.
*18.* Arabs started all five wars against Israel, and lost every one of them.

No Zevi, the British in the 1930s under the Peel Commission offered the Arabs a country on over the 80% of the land with only a small sliver for the Jews. The Jews accepted the plan and the Arabs said no. The 1947 Partition Plan came later and was presented by the UN and not British "colonialists". The British abstained from that vote and had already been siding with the Arabs since the 1930s. But the Arabs had already rejected the Peel Commission compromise in which they would ha gotten most of the land. The entire history of Jews and Palestinians has been one of Palestinian rejectionism because they do not want the existence of a Jewish state.

Is it so strange that a people living their life should surrender 20 percent of their land to people who lived on other continents??
There is a self-serving delusion here that a people would hand over 20 percent of their land mass to people from a separate continent.
Why do you present this bizarre third party theft of land as an attractive proposition for the people living and farming these lands?

I am not sure you can claim equal rights. The amount of Palestinians the Israeli state rules over, and has ruled over for generations, dwarves the amount they have given citizenship to. The justification for not giving them citizenship is based on the Palestinians being part of the wrong ethnicity. That is the definition of apartheid. Maybe you can claim that the percentage they have given citizenship to are given equal rights, but isn't that irrelevant in the larger scheme? Imagine that group A rules over group B. Group A gives 10% of group B equal rights. However, it does not follow that group A has given group B equal rights. Neither does it follow that it is truly democratic when the majority of people ruled over by the government is denied the right to vote.

Israel agreed to each and it was 'brokered' through other countries as well. The Palestinians turned down the offers each and every time. Also, 1948-67, there was a three state solution (Jordan/Egypt/Israel) until Israel had to defend in 1967. Then gaza / WB were ceded to Israel. You *need* to understand the history. The Palestinian 'statehood' movement began in 1964, by an egyptian, 16 years after Israel was re-constituted.

@SeekersofUnity I was introduced to the distinction of political zionism, vs spiritual zionism when the local Yeshiva ostracized and vandalized a Hasidic Rabbi who condemned political zionism as an affront to spiritual zionism- at first they painted swastikas on his house, till he showed the police his doorbell camera showing who really put that there. Then the vandalists stopped hiding, and scratched "traitor" into his car doors, and made death threats against his grandkids, like a bunch of fascists. Right now in Israel, jewish Israeli protesters against the fascist government, military, and against the war crimes are facing far worse treatment. Mean while, the rightwingers claim that protesting Israel's current fascism and war crimes is antisemitism to silence descent. Thank you for your integrity and courage in confronting this narrative, and unfolding these issues for everyone to examine for themselves.

The distinction between political zionism and spiritual/cultural zionism is irrelevant today. The goal of spiritual zionism was to rejuvenate Jewish nationhood by building a hub for secular Jewish culture in the land of Israel. The goal of political zionism was to create a Jewish nation-state. You'll notice that both these goals not only are compatible but actually require one another. You'll also notice that both goals have been achieved, which is why the terms are irrelevant today. The Israeli government doesn't have any fascist characteristics other than being generally right wing. Lastly the protests are not against the Israeli military or the offensive into Gaza other than arab Israelis and the extreme left all of the Israeli public is united in it's backing of the IDF and it's war on hamas. The protestors believe that holding an election would lead to the war being carried out more efficiently

The protests they were associated with were explicitly anti-war. You are painting with too broad a brush w unilateral generalizations that imagines the Israelis are a monolith, when of course they are not, no group that is so large is. Currently the Israeli government has many fascistic traits (including the lack of democratic elections- as you acknowledged they've lacked, demanding military service, the aim of genocide, the ethnic cleansing being preformed by the IDF, and the suppression of political descent).

@@MrKreinen Zion is just a different name for the city of Jerusalem, so I don't see what your understanding of spiritual zionism has to do with actual concerns of Jewish identity or its relation to Israel
I assumed you were referring to the organized anti-government protests (the ones associated with Kaplan Street) since the number of actual anti-war protests is so small that it's completely irrelevant to internal Israeli politics.
There's no laws against criticizing the IDF or government however Jewish Israelis aren't afraid to voice their outrage over people who speak negatively of soldiers (rightfully so, the only reason those people are alive right now is the soldiers laying down their life to defend them). There are laws against incitement to violence, though it is rarely enforced against leftwing Jews.
The last Israeli election was in 2022, and Israel has a 4 year term. The current government did not postpone the election. Protestors are calling to dissolve the government and hold a new election because lack of confidence, not abuse of the democratic system.
Mandatory service is fairly normal and is not indicative of fascist ideology. Some of the countries that have mandatory military service include South Korea, Finland, and Sweden, which I doubt you'll argue have a fascist government.
You'd think that if the Israeli government had the aim of genocide they'd start working towards achieving that aim, but it's been 9 months, yet they've not acted on their desire. I guess we'll need to wait. Maybe they're waiting until the post Oct 7th sympathies completely vanish, so they can cause maximal outrage?
Strange to say the IDF is performing ethnic cleansing despite the fact that said ethnicity can not leave Gaza. Unless you mean it's only ethnically cleansing the west bank, in which case I want to see what different policies were adopted by this government to start this ethnic cleansing.
Lastly, while unauthorized protests, were disbanded with of what I agree is an unnecessary and exaggerated use of force. Protests for all kinds of causes were still authorized, which is uncharacteristic for a fascist regime

whydoi4088:" I don't see what your understanding of spiritual zionism has to do with actual concerns of Jewish..."
      Seriously?
You are that ignorant of well established Jewish spiritualism while talking out your ars so confidently?
whydoi4088:"Zion is just a different name for the city of Jerusalem"
Zion is seen as the ultimate destination in Jewish eschatology. The belief in the eventual coming of the Messiah and the divine redemption is centered on the spiritual renewal of Zion.
This messianic hope is less about physical restoration and more about a profound spiritual transformation, where Zion symbolizes the world to come and the fulfillment of divine promises.
Zion is deeply associated with the Shechinah, the divine presence. Jewish spirituality sees Zion as a metaphor for the place where God’s presence dwells most intimately with humanity.
In Kabbalistic thought, Zion is seen as a symbol of the higher spiritual realms and the divine emanations. The mystics envision Zion as the spiritual epicenter where the physical and the metaphysical intersect.
The writings of the Ari (Rabbi Isaac Luria) and other Kabbalists elaborate on Zion as the place of ultimate spiritual rectification and union with the divine. It is a focal point for mystical meditation and yearning for spiritual elevation.
Through the entire history of the 20th century (and on into the 21st), a sizable number of Jews have seen "political" or "worldly" so-called "zion" as an affront to the spiritual goal or ideal of zion, and to those awaiting the coming of the jewish messiah with a spiritual view of what that means, man-made political or nationalist zion is a blasphemy.
All the way up through the 70s there was a sizable faction of religious jews primarily in the US that rejected the political state of Israel, and its government, while the rightwing coalition of jews in Israel were primarily secular jews. And, together with jewish anti-fascist leftists, the anti-state leftist Jews, and the anti-state religious Jews were large enough to counter the rightwing coalition in Israel. This has unfortunately changed. Through the 90s the anti-state religious faction was promised exception from military service (tho since then it was revoked in 2014 th-cam.com/video/me4FqdrmVBs/w-d-xo.html ), and near autonomy in governing their own communities in Israel, bribing them into joining the rightwing coalition, and leaving leftist anti-state jews on their own. On their own, the anti-state leftist are not sizable enough to be much more than a minority youth movement of hippies. In fact, that was one of the reasons the rightwing coalition was trying to block the influx of mostly semi-secular Russian and Ukrainian jews, who were unlikely to support the rightwing coalition in power, but were coming in numbers that would make a difference in the political demographics. Fortunately, they were not able to block the majority of Russian Jews from gaining citizenship, though unfortunately, they have not made as much of a difference as the right once feared, and the left once hoped.
whydoi4088:"...since the number of actual anti-war protests is so small that it's completely irrelevant to internal Israeli politics..." & "...There's no laws against criticizing the IDF"
When the IDF (& rightwing communities) assaults reporters and anti-war protesters, that tends to be seen as the truth; weather that's because the protesters dont want to suffer the punishments of a society that quietly condones the attacks on anti-war protesters which they officially deny, or because the reporters dont want to suffer that punishment (more than a few reporters have said the IDF tried to kill them/get them killed).
      th-cam.com/video/UPANd-ZUOHg/w-d-xo.html
whydoi4088:"The last Israeli election was in 2022, and Israel has a 4 year term. The current government did not postpone the election."
And how long has Benjamin Netanyahu remained in political power? You sound like propaganda about russian "democracy" and Putin. Critics argue that weakening the judiciary could lead to an erosion of checks and balances, concentrating power in the executive branch. There have been legislative initiatives perceived as discriminatory against Israel's Arab minority and other marginalized groups. These initiatives are seen as undermining democratic principles and equality before the law. Concerns have been raised about attempts to control or influence the media and civil society organizations. Restrictions on NGOs and freedom of expression are seen as steps towards authoritarianism. The political rhetoric used by some leaders has been accused of inciting hatred and division, particularly against Arabs, left-wing activists, and other perceived opponents. Such rhetoric is often compared to that used by authoritarian regimes to consolidate power and marginalize dissent. Aggressive military and security policies, including crackdowns on protests and increased use of force, are viewed by some as signs of an authoritarian approach to governance. Overall, there is a perception of democratic backsliding, where democratic norms and institutions are gradually eroded in favor of more centralized and authoritarian control.
But I will admit, exactly what counts as Fascistic (aka like-fascism) really depends on the political leanings of the individual. Rightwingers tend to not only tollerate fascistic erosions of democratic societies, but often harbor out-right fascists in their ranks (for example, in the US all neo-naz support the rightwing). But I suspect Israel is doing what the US has done for decades if not longer---- creating two ritewing parties, one more left than the other on select topics, with the two engaging in a red-herring pseudo-conflict w eachother, so that actual left/progs are painted as minority extremists, and completely left out of the political process. No leftwing progressive in the first world endorses war, theocracy, or ethno-nationalism (and certainly not mandatory military service).
whydoi4088:"Mandatory service is fairly normal and is not indicative of fascist ideology." "Israelis aren't afraid to voice their outrage over people who speak negatively of soldiers (rightfully so, the only reason those people are alive right now is the soldiers laying down their life to defend them)."
So it seems obvious where you fall on the world political spectrum; no wonder you don't recognize fascistic trends.
whydoi4088:"You'd think that if the Israeli government had the aim of genocide they'd start working towards achieving that aim, but it's been 9 months, yet they've not acted on their desire." and "Strange to say the IDF is performing ethnic cleansing despite the fact that said ethnicity can not leave Gaza. Really? Theres no shortage of reports of IDF systematic rap3s.

12:43 the biblical story is allegory, and that’s really important to know. israelites in the bible conquered canaanites. the truth is, the archaeological record shows that israelites were a subgroup of canaanites who were already living in the region. they had an internal uprising because they felt that things like human sacrifice and animal sacrifice and idolatry etc etc were not what their god wanted of them. the land was not overtaken and canaanites were not destroyed in the way the bible outlines. israelites decided to be better people, with a deeper respect for life, and a deeper respect for morality and goodness. were they perfect? no. but the story in the bible can’t be used against the jewish population in terms of “look what they did in the past” - because they didn’t do that in the past. they picked up and moved to the highlands and started a new life and called themselves israelites, those who “wrestled with god”. this is archaeologically evidenced, and also even hinted at in the bible where jacob “suddenly becomes” israel. that’s exactly what happened in real life, canaanites became israelites.

If you believe that God will break his covenant that he made with Abraham! to give him and his descendants through Isaac and Jacob the land of Israel as a possession forever then you do not understand the faithfulness of God. Israel is God's firstborn son. Jesus Christ is Jewish and he will reign over the house of Jacob from Jerusalem forever.
Jesus says to the woman at the well in Samaria that 'salvation is of the Jews.' What this means is that without the Jewish people there would be no patriarchs, no prophets, no bible and no Saviour. Through the unbelief of the Jews, mercy was shown to the Gentile nations and God requires Gentile believers to now show mercy on his chosen heritage Israel.

You are the problem when addressing the small percentage of every group that uses their power/tools to influence negatively. Therefore ignoring the most who just wants to live, try and find out the truth together instead of living in the illusion of self constantly trying to prove you are correct.. true lessons come from realizing you are wrong.

There was no subjugation. 2 million Arabs live in Israel with equal rights.
The ones who are not within Israel proper, the ones who call themselves Palestinians, could have had a state in 1948 but refused because their aim wasn’t to have an Arab state, it was to have no Jewish state.
Anything else Israel has done, the stuff people call ‘subjugation’ (such as the blockade, checkpoints, etc) has been a response to their aggression in order to protect Israeli citizens (all of them, not just the Jewish ones).

I have two questions that I hope that you can answer:
    Q. If Isaiah 2 reveals that the Israelites won't enter the land until after the return of the Messiah, then who are the people in the land now?
    Q. If Ezekiel 36 reveals that the "Idumeans" would appoint the land for themselves, then cast the land out on a false flag ... then who are the people in the land now?

When Israel was reborn as a nation in 1948 (which was fulfilment of God's prophetic Word), millions of Jews scattered among the nations have returned to their own land. God promised the land of Israel to his people Israel as an everlasting possession and in these end days he has promised to bring them again to their own land. Many Jews continue to return to their own land and this will continue. The Jews need to be restored to their own land before the Messiah Jesus Christ returns to earth. 'Israeli' is not in the bible and 'Israelis' make up many different peoples that live in Israel who are not descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. However, there are millions of Jewish people who have returned home and dwell in Israel and more and more will continue to return to the land God has promised to them.

Regards to your point at 12:55 about using G-d as an excuse for injustice: Yes the land belongs to the Jewish people because G-d gave it to them - but the reason they have to fight is not because of that. It's because it's a Torah law that a Jew needs to defend themselves, as the talmud says 'if someone comes to kill you, rise to kill them first.' Unfortunately Israel has not conducted themselves this way as they should have, preffering to let Gaza turn into a terror stronghold right under their very noses out of fear of 'rocking the boat' and now we are paying a heavy price for exuding such weakness. Had we taken the the Torah (G-ds word) seriously, we would not be in this this position - but again, the 'religious' rationale for using force, comes down to the obligation to be proactive when it comes to self defense. It's not about grabbing land, it's about protecting lives.
