My father in law would have loved watching you he was a retired md state trooper and his hobby was restoring old farm tractors and he grew up on a farm he was a great man and a great friend he would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it including me I surely miss him but watching your show makes me think of him so keep up the good work thank you😊
“I also think I’m gonna need to turn it left.” Classic Pete funny moment. Made me chuckle out loud, especially thinking of how many times I’ve done the same thing.
The great thing about these restoration videos is that they become an archive for this model tractor. Anyone who owns this can come here and learn all the nuts and bolts, reference part locations and just general information for this platform. This is a great service you are doing. Thanks Pete
I hope your neighbour down the road Pete, is watching this, as I'm sure he'll appreciate the TLC being shown to his " old faithful "! It would be nice to see a springtime visit to him to see his face when appraising your efforts!
Pete I'm no expert but I'd be willing to bet that you're the first person to go that deep into that tractor since it was assembled. I'd love to see a group photo of the guys that put it together! Love watching your videos, whether its animals or tractors! Thank you for what you do!!
Pete must feel like a tractor archeologist, some of those bolts haven't been touched by human hands since it was assembled in the factory. He honors the good folks who built it with his careful work.
I recently sold a farmall 460 that needed some hydraulic work done to someone. He asked me about how to videos on repairs, I with no hesitation recommended your channel. I have yet to find someone who explains the process more thoroughly than you
Every time you do a restoration video; I say that it’s the best ever; this one is going to be more fun than ever. I also love the farming videos too; actually you haven’t made a video yet that I didn’t enjoy watching. Happy new year Pete and family.
Hi Pete. As much as I love the animals and general farm work, I sure do love to see some good old fashioned work on machinery going on. I really enjoy these series when you do them. THanks for sharing with us. On a side note, you know how one can tell when a 3 year old's grandpa is a subscriber or loyal watcher of Just a Few Acres Farm? Well, very quick short story. So I am sitting at my kitchen table enjoying a cup of coffee when out of the blue I hear "Come on cows... Come on!" . I was like uhh what? Then he said it again! ha ha!!! I heard a stampede in my house of our 3 dogs coming full steam to him. I turn and look in full laughter and he has a handful of dog food hand feeding them like they are treats. I sat there and laughed and laughed and laughed. Come on cows ...... I absolutely loved it! I watch a load of farm channels (as well as other general channels) and not a once has he ever quoted a content creator. I was kind of tickled that he chose Pete. I always said this is good old fashioned content the entire family can get in on in some fashion or the other. I think I found his passion for Just a few acres Farm; Pete and calling his cows! Take care all and stay warm!
Last year I changed the air filter in my riding lawn mower and thought it was a genius move...then I watch Pete take apart a tractor and I wonder "how on earth does he keep track of all those bolts, wires and parts" It fascinates me. almost like watching someone throw a 5000 piece puzzle in the air and then put it back together again...facinating!!! I love it!
As a 58 year old Australian from a small city with no farming experience that has no interest in tractors I have to say I wouldn't miss one minute of any episode. Pete your outlook on life is the main reason I watch you, learning from you in almost everything you do is easy. I look forward to many years more!
Pete that’s the best bad joke yet bro, takes guts to be an organ donor best ever out of the years I’ve watched your videos. I literally lol man great timing and place set up too. Rev. Paul, Eustis Florida:)
Your show today reminded me of when I was ten or so; I used to go to the neighboring farm to do hay baling and odd jobs for the farmer, also named "Pete." He used to do the same thing you are doing to his tractors. I loved watching him fix his 4010s and 4020s. He even had a 9N that I mostly used. You always bring me good memories, and I thank you for that.
With 4 to 6 inches of new snow on the ground and -9 degree Celsius temp., whats better to do then watch Pete do his thing on the 856. This what I call the best content on just a few acres.Keep on chugging pete!😅
Pete, as I sit on my lanai in FL, watching you work on a piece of equipment I have no knowledge of, I thought I'd give you some advice going forward. When dealing with fasteners, the vast majority of time remember, "lefty losy, right tighty" 😂😅 . I so enjoy your videos, regardless of content. Keep the dad jokes coming. They give my kids something groan about in the retelling.
A lot of people get bored watching videos like this NOT I. I love watching you work on your equipment. It is always better to rebuild old, than new. Keep up the good work. I'm loving it. I drove a 560 Diesel, back in the 60's. In 1965, I left the farm and made the U.S. Air Force a Career. Now I am totally retired, and loving it. Richard Hutchings.
Pete I love your tractor restoration videos and I love how your mechanic skills have changed from only using hand tools to using a impact.I also have noticed you talk more now than you do in your older videos. I however do miss the multiple dad joke videos my wife dies laughing onevery one of them.
My 92 year old grandfather loves when I show him your tractor videos! He loves working on his tractors but its hard for him to walk now and he loves living through you❤
We didn't catch the pun in time but we saw the intensity of the silence and the sigh thereafter so we knew we had to rewind and catch the pun. Excellent.
You amaze us as to how easy you do these restorations! My husband and I love watching you do these tractors! How you keep track of everything blows us away! So excited to see how things progress!
MR.Pete. My daddy would have loved to qatch this. He was Co owner of a 10,000 auto parts store in Minnesota. Thankyou sooo very much again for your videos. I love watching. ✝️💖
This video is right up my father's alley. He was one of the best one-armed problem solvers and fixers. The older tractors are like a box of chocolates........you never know what you get til you open them and start chewing on them. Lol 😅😅😅😅
I am just amazed watching you take that everything apart and know where it goes back I love watching it and I'm just some old lady that used to work on cars and stuff myself but you are so smart I just love watching you thanks for all your videos😊
I've always enjoyed working on equipment and actually made a very good living from it years ago but it's not as much fun as it used to be so I'm enjoying watching you do it 😊👍
I am not what you would call any sort of expert at anything but I have messed with all sorts of stuff. I am at 10 minutes and I have seen no stripped heads or threads or frustated swearing. By now I would have either given up, not that I would have started, or burred a bolt head so bad drilling it out would be my next option. I have both admiration for people like Pete and envy that my brain won't absorb the technical know how to accomplish such tasks.
Pete, my hat is off to you for taking on these projects. While I do lots of maintenance and touch up, I don't think I'd do well in tackling something this large. As always, I take away something from all of your tractor videos. Thank you for all you do.
You are amazing, Pete. I have never seen anyone, who is doing a project over several months, that just 'clips' and sets aside without labeling what they are attached to! :-)
I liked the sped up time-lapse recap at the end. Had an idea for short intro...a super quick pic of the animals and you saying "COWS", "PIGS", "CHICKENS" , "HILARY". Then you drive a tractor from the house to the shop (it hilarious cuz its like 20ft away....lol). Just so we know everything is A ok on the farm while we are absorbed with watching you teardown the 856. Love from Auburn
You're the man Pete I love those old tractors even though I have not grown up around them my grandfather had them when I was a baby I would like one of those small ones like you plow snow with that is so cool God bless you
Pete's Bob Ross version of a Tractor rebuild. Very relaxing to watch with the occasional hand flex to the unbolting dance around the tractor. Best video of this kind on U tube and a very enjoyable watch.
I remember when you brought the ol girl home from the auction. These restoration/fix ups you do are my personal favorites. I do enjoy the others you make , just these are my favorites. look forward to the series. A good quality freshen up and shell be good for as long as you need it. Be well.
I just purchased an 856 Custom last year! My first tractor I personally owned. It's in pretty good shape, but has minor things I'd like to do. So excited you're doing a resto on an 856. :D One of my favorite channels already, now doing something I REALLY need the insight for! It's entertainment and it's educational. It's like PBS, but better. ;)
Pete - how you have the patience and the know how to disassemble that tractor is beyond me. And then - put it all back together again????? I'll sit here in my warm kitchen and watch you do it. Go ahead...have fun!!!
So after watching your channel for about a month it is my guess that your worked your way through college as a mechanic for and IH dealership. Tip of the hat to your in-depth knowledge. Great channel
Funny thing, I'm not a mechanic guy at all, don't watch any channel where they rebuilt car and stuff like. But when Mrs Pete does mechanic .... I watch ;) ;)
My dad was fixing old clocks and cars. he also would love your Video's, when son got married in long island New York, we went antique shopping and, he bout and old timeclock, shipped it home. We even had couple in the bathroom, 15 in the living room 20 in the dining room 4-5 hundred in the (clock room) and 15 chimed 15 min. I miss the ticking.
Pete, 2 minutes into the video, you started to find the 'unexpected' stuff that you mentioned to start, typical of an older tractor rebuild!!! I loved watching the restoration of the MD, and it took me back 35 years when I had a 560 diesel that kept shucking the cylinder liners into the oil pan! Finally gave up on the old tractor and traded it for a 4010 JD that lasted me a long time. Will enjoy following along on this new project, a lot more 'unexpecteds' to come, I am sure!
Well I'm in my comfort zone here. now I'm not a mechanic, just and old timer living vicariously through you Pete. and like a lot of others when you got to the double wrench deal I said "NO Pete! lefty loosy! I had to stop watch it many times. I couldn´t ear that poor tractor crying as it was slowly dying, piece removal one after an other. Stop ! Stop Pete ! It said. Wasn´t a good tractor for you all these years ? Didn´t i always carry chores you ask me ? Didn´t i always carry you wherever you wanted to ? Poor guy. It doesn´t know that when it will ressucite from ER, it will be almost a brand new kid. Good gor an other 40 years ? Of course it doesn´t know. But it will. Oh ya it will !! Thanks Pete. Always hearthwarming to see you working hard to bring back youth to a machine.
Thanks Pete. Looking forward to future videos. You are gifted with patience. Always enjoy hearing your perspectives. Grew up with the red power from the 50’s to the 70’s. Technology is transforming agriculture and continues today.
Hi Pete/Hillary. I watch all of your videos as a new acreage/tractor owner (Allis Chalmers 5050). I am currently working through the earlier videos in order. I appreciate the knowledge that you demonstrate with these projects, but am not quite ready to start taking apart too much yet (getting things back together seems the real marvel). Thank you. All the best.
Pete, if your engine is leaking at the back end, be sure and check gasket where rear adapter plate bolts to the back of engine block. There is a large gasket and oring at the rear camshaft journal that is under pressure when engine is running, drips off in the same place as rear main seal leak and often will leak cold and seal as engine warms. Also, If your thinking of doing the torgue amplifier, be sure one is available. Waited almost a month to get one this passed spring on my 986. If none is available from hicap check with abilene machine, they helped me get one from a different source. You mentioned the TA in an earlier video and I figured you have already checked on it but thought I would mention it anyway. Look forward the rest of the series as your videos are always well researched and thought out. Keep up the good work.
My father in law would have loved watching you he was a retired md state trooper and his hobby was restoring old farm tractors and he grew up on a farm he was a great man and a great friend he would go out of his way to help anyone who needed it including me I surely miss him but watching your show makes me think of him so keep up the good work thank you😊
Greetings from Maryland and may your dad Rest In Peace.
😂😂
Your tractor restoration videos are so interesting to watch!

Pete that’s the best bad joke yet bro, takes guts to be an organ donor best ever out of the years I’ve watched your videos. I literally lol man great timing and place set up too.
Rev. Paul, Eustis Florida:)
thanks for making my Sunday mornings so enjoyable. Always look forward to seeing you fix these tractors.
I'm not into tractors but I watch because you make it interesting. Thanks
Great video mate nice to see you again and hope you’re all doing well
Pete, I don’t know how in the world you can ever get this 856 back together, but i know you can. You are a talented guy.
I will never own a tractor, nor work on one, but I do enjoy the education. You have a knack for teaching Pete, thanks.
Pete, As I am mechanically impaired I just want you to know how much I enjoy watching you tinkering, working or restoring your "Vintage Equipment".
With 4 to 6 inches of new snow on the ground and -9 degree Celsius temp., whats better to do then watch Pete do his thing on the 856. This what I call the best content on just a few acres.Keep on chugging pete!😅

The old girl is going to beautiful, and done right, this spring 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸😊
Outstanding Craftsmanship! Pete!😇!😇!😇!
Nothing like a Synday morning with a coffee and a Pete video !!
You amaze us as to how easy you do these restorations! My husband and I love watching you do these tractors! How you keep track of everything blows us away! So excited to see how things progress!
It takes a gut to be an organ donor. So glad my hubby was given a precious gift of a heart almost 6 years ago. ❤
MR.Pete. My daddy would have loved to qatch this. He was Co owner of a 10,000 auto parts store in Minnesota. Thankyou sooo very much again for your videos. I love watching. ✝️💖
I'm the owner of an auto repair shop. And an Allis Chalmers man. But I'll still watch any of your tractor vids. Thanks Pete.
That tractor is going to be so nice when you are finished rebuilding it. 😊
This video is right up my father's alley. He was one of the best one-armed problem solvers and fixers. The older tractors are like a box of chocolates........you never know what you get til you open them and start chewing on them. Lol 😅😅😅😅

She's gonna be a happy girl, gettin' all that love from ya.
Good morning Pete and Hillary, you guys are like the musicians that plays everybody genres. Keep up the good work.
Lol "guts to be an organ donner." It took me a split second 🤣 was waiting for the other shoe. This is going to be quite the project.
Your tugging on my past Pete. We had an MD and an 856. Truly going to enjoy this project also.
I've always enjoyed working on equipment and actually made a very good living from it years ago but it's not as much fun as it used to be so I'm enjoying watching you do it 😊👍

Glad to see you wrenching again! I drive the dreaded Green Machines, but your thoroughness (even on the Red tractors) is enjoyable to watch!
Pete, my hat is off to you for taking on these projects. While I do lots of maintenance and touch up, I don't think I'd do well in tackling something this large. As always, I take away something from all of your tractor videos. Thank you for all you do.
Pete I envy you! I have always wanted to rebuild Ford 8N’s. It gives me great pleasure watching you! Keep up the good work! God Bless!
You are amazing, Pete. I have never seen anyone, who is doing a project over several months, that just 'clips' and sets aside without labeling what they are attached to! :-)

I’ll be watching this, 856 was my favorite tractor on the farm, you do nice work Pete
Nice shirt, Pete. Go Bucks. I'm looking forward to this 856 resto

Pete's Bob Ross version of a Tractor rebuild. Very relaxing to watch with the occasional hand flex to the unbolting dance around the tractor. Best video of this kind on U tube and a very enjoyable watch.
Another great rebuilder is "Engles Coach ", very mellow patient guy who is a real tradesman in every sense of the word.
“Wet-stacking”. It’s nice to learn something new, which happens for me a lot while watching your channel!
I remember when you brought the ol girl home from the auction. These restoration/fix ups you do are my personal favorites. I do enjoy the others you make , just these are my favorites. look forward to the series. A good quality freshen up and shell be good for as long as you need it. Be well.

Also. I'm jealous of your hydraulic assist.
Looking forward to this restore Pete🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸☦️
Pete, looking forward to this restoration. Thank you for sharing..
Love watching you tear down tractors. One day I’m going to do my H because of you, I can’t wait to do it.
You’ve created a monster 😂😂 all my grandson talk about is Farmall tractors. He’s found an old 806 and wants to restore it.
It's definitely one of the tractors worth doing...never heard a complaint about an 856. P.S. I'm gutless 😂
Quite a list of to-do items on the 856. The old girl ought to be in top shape when you're done.
You have nice trackers. i like them a lot i like your cows and calefs and bulls and pigs and chickens and turkeys
Pete - how you have the patience and the know how to disassemble that tractor is beyond me. And then - put it all back together again????? I'll sit here in my warm kitchen and watch you do it. Go ahead...have fun!!!
Also Enjoy this portion of your videos, mechanically minded I truly enjoy these videos. Thanks for bringing us along.
So after watching your channel for about a month it is my guess that your worked your way through college as a mechanic for and IH dealership. Tip of the hat to your in-depth knowledge. Great channel
Looking forward to watching all these videos Pete. ❤
You sure can tell this is not your first Rodeo , Going to enjoy watching you put it all back together later,
always enjoy watching your videos especially today when its 2 degrees out without windchill
Doing stuff and doing it well. 👍With that size of parts, it’s a good thing you like things categorized and organized.
Funny thing, I'm not a mechanic guy at all, don't watch any channel where they rebuilt car and stuff like. But when Mrs Pete does mechanic .... I watch ;) ;)
I watched this in 2x. It was like an action movie. This is going to be fun to watch. Cheers
This is my dream tractor from the 60s
Oh boy, Pete’s starting a new tractor project!! I’m a happy girl!
Righty Tighty"" and by God you heard me cool!. The thing I love most about watching you work is your patience. is phenominal. well at least the parts you show ha ha. Oh I bet there are a few good curses left on the cutting room floor haha. and validly so!. if you ever watched me in the same situations. the cutting room floor would ve waist deep with them. thanks for taking this old man along and for sharing ECF.
Pete, I want to say that I enjoy your tractor strip down and repair videos. Made me chuckle today with the Dad joke since I am an End Stage Renal patient with Fabry Disease. Just really needed the laugh today.
This is a big project so we are going to enjoy it all winter. Cool, I love it
I had to stop watch it many times.
That tractor is a beast!! Gonna look great with the freshening up!
and now I'll head outside and replace rear suspension parts on my '03 BMW X5. Thanks for the inspiration.
Brilliant plain and simple, or not so simple. Thank you again and again and again.🖖
Got pete on the 75" while making breakfast. Great way to spend a morning.
Looking forward to this series
That's a very ambitious project Pete. I know it's a labor of love because i watched your other restoration videos.
Nice to see you have a proper shirt on again. OHIO ST!!!
Thank you. I look forward to seeing this project to the end.
I love all your videos, but, these, these are my favorite.
Thanks, Pete, for sharing your thoughts and experiences as a modern-day small farmer.
And thanks for the Dad jokes, I love them.
Enjoy all your videos ,especially these restorations!
Nothing more relaxing after a hard days work, to watch work in your shop. Thanks Pete
Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's done and this is a great video I'll be watching for more
Awesome possum Pete its restoration TIME BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR WINTER PROJECT!!!!
