Blinded by light from XIII was my favorite battle theme for years, but this one is by far the best FF battle theme ever, in my opinion. Shit's brilliant.

This might be one of my favourite battle themes, not just from this game, or from Final Fantasy, but just in general :D I love it so much

Is it too crazy to hope for a new golden age of Final Fantasy with Shimomura as the staple composer? I've loved her stuff ever since KH came out, but tracks like this really show what she's capable of.
I'd just be happy with the next installment making sure the world map has a continuous world map theme, was a little sad this game went the 'random song plays for a few seconds then stops to be replaced by a new one depending on local, or just be silent with nature noises' route for the world map after so long of having no FF with one.
Was happy the World of Ruin world map had music of its own on repeat, but since they were forced to rush the game you couldnt explore the new map they made in any real detail anyway, despite being littered with end game level normal foes. Looking forward to the booster pack patch for many reasons, but the possibility of both the empire map and ruined world maps being explorable is a nice thing to look forward to.
@@OsnosisBones FFXIV (14) Kinda already did that but you all ignore it because of the "it's an mmo it doesn't count" BS. Anyhow since 16 is being done by the same team as 14 I expect there to be good overworld music that doesn't just disappear after a few seconds.

@@davidgeorge1943 You'd have to drag Uematsu-sensei out of retirement, for one. He has been working at the FF series at least since the year I was born. I think his career with Square started in 84, and I was born one year later, so he's likely tired. I would argue we should let him rest! LOL

My feelings for this game have been, and still will be conflicted. On one end, I really enjoyed the initial playthrough, but any time I finish the game, I see or remember all the trailers with the missing content, or hear about the potential this game truly had before release. But even through all of that, I still do like the game, it's an enjoyable little romp to play through every now and then, and the soundtrack is absolutely fuckin bangin the whole time, like every time I come back, I get a little bit more disappointed by the game (especially the dlc's), but the music is what brings me back to this game, and I love the music more and more every time
No matter what your opinion on the series is, whatever ff game is your favorite, I think the community can easily group together for one thing unanimously, the music

This has shades of the composer for Tales of Symphonia in its style.
Not quite sure I hear it to be honest. This makes sense really as the ToS composer had no hand in this game's soundtrack. The composer for the Kingdom Hearts series, Yoko Shimoura, was the woman behind this game's soundtrack.
I'm aware of that, just some of the melodic material sounds a bit like Motoi Sakuraba's style.
TheAsvarduilProject Interesting that you think that. Could you perhaps specify some specific points of the song which map up to Sakuraba?
TH-cam isn't the ideal platform for music analysis...but, I'll have a go at it.
What I call the "A" section starts at 0:08 - it reminds me more than a little of "Like A Glint of Light" from the Tales of Symphonia OST (the Tethe'alla battle theme). Some of that is the more rock-like orchestration, also the 'anime-esque' style and faster runs as the A section completes - while Shimomura does use more florid melodies, her style is typically far more percussive in nature.
The "B" section that starts at 1:00 is also reminiscent of Sakuraba's works, in that it uses the anime-esque style not common to Shimomura's compositions.
Alone, those say nothing - it's necessary to contrast these things I perceive as different to things that I perceive as more in-line with Shimomura's style.
To contrast them, the lead-in for the piece from 0:00 - 0:08 is a more typical Shimomura style - a percussive melody over a supporting ostenato. This structure is very common in Shimomura's works, and I feel is best exemplified by "Night of Fate" from the Kingdom Hearts OST. The development section from 0:52-1:00 also falls back into the more percussive Shimomura style, before reverting to the anime-esque style.
If you want an essay by Friday, it's been a while since my music courses in college...but I'll work on it a bit. ;)

This always hits right in the feels...
This theme works so well in the mines while you are on your way to Niflheim. Everyone is miserable, tired, (Iggy is blind so no food), Noct and Gladi are pissed at each other, and the tone of this whole part of the game is just sad. This battle theme grants that final finishing tone of desperation. The knowledge that they have to keep going or everything they ever knew will come to ruin, and everyone is looking to them and only them to save Insomnia...

Honestly, my biggest complaints with this game are the horrendous side quests and the fact that they power you up way too much early in the game. It makes the rest of the game much too easy. But other than that, I think it's very enjoyable

Huh. How bad is the HP drain when you use the Armiger weapons for normal attacks? I know the Warp Strikes take a lot.
Hurts quite a lot, especially if you hit more than one target, I think even in this video I put myself into Danger state by Warp Striking with the axe
Ouch. Definitely a lot of risk when using them. The Axe of the Conqueror has around 400+ damage when you get it and it's tempting to use it. Thankfully, just equipping them gives you good stat bonus.

Using the axe, if you do a warp strike attack and hit a full group of Imperials from a drop ship its enough to literally take my HP from full to zero. (It's why I stopped using it)

darne i sold the royal edition of the game this week, i miss the game hearing this theme, but i did all dlcs and everything except fighting the giant monsters, but now i have urge to replay hearing this, quite possibly the best jrpg on ps4, persona 5 is straight up bad compared to this
the post game of ff15 is legendary and probably the best in any game i've ever played. i bought it day one and im still playing it to this day

@@GotuUmraniya if you start the game from your save you beat it on, you get to go back into the open world and a whoooole lot of shit becomes available. you can get armiger unleashed, do all the non mandatory dungeons, get a bunch of new weapons, lvl 99 side quests and hunts, the flying car, adamantoise fight, etc.

@@GotuUmraniya well the canon explanation is that you call on umbra and go back to the past, but it's really just a way of letting you go back to the open world in a fancy way

Disarch It didn't come with the FULL ost, this theme in particular isn't there. Apparently the original ost with all the scores is going to be released on December 21th.

Game too easy
I had trouble with a few bosses (haven't beat full game, chapter 7, ) in particular the dragon in the dungeon to get Cindy's fourth part for the Regalia by the blockade next to Crown City. That was an epic struggle I was not expecting.
I did Struggle baddly on that one also, that giant snake at the bottom of the sewer was inhumanly difficult, and then the dragon thing, i had to kill it only with noctis warping arround. Wait till you get to the tower, you'll struggle a lot more in that one, i almost died yesterday night finishing it.
do a low level run. the developer even said hed like to see people doing low level runs. also we are getting a new game+ soon. ima grind to level 99 to get ready for it
plus we now have the super raids look it up once when your at the endgame

I'm sorry to be "that guy", but the gameplay made me cringe... You let your one of your party die and did nothing while they were in danger state. You could have at least gave them a potion if you didn't want to bother rescuing them :/ Sorry, I'm prolly going to get a lot of hate for caring so much, but it bugged me lol!

Yeah, My Prompto was put in danger state in the beginning a lot to the point that I made sure his accessories made his hp and defenses go up and I pick hp node for the party because of him.

my prompto kept dying so i puch so much defense on him hes stronger then gladio...
he is the only one with 9999 hp and only defensive items in the team.....him and aranea...who...can't...die... ....... :D
the only good thing about this abomination of a game that disrespect the name Final fantasy! Worst battle system ever, just press x and you win kids game. Why they should not fix what is not bokken and stick to ATB. the story was crap too not even complete nothing made sense, no characters to even be invested in unlike ff3-13
