OMG he's got such an amazing personality as well. I was very lucky to have meant him in October. He was very open about life and music. One of my favorite songwriter/performer!
Dude......I have been a fan from day 1 in 2006.......the incredibly tragic and difficult things I've been through in my life......Dallas made it tolerable with his music! Truly like an angel flys in the room!
Named my son after Dallas Green. My dad named me after his favorite musician SRV and gave me the first name Austin. I think it's awesome I'm named after my dads favorite my son isn't named after my favorite and we're Austin and Dallas and his beautiful mother is named Montana. I know we're a road map.
This song was written partially about my would've been aunt Collete Wilson living in the small town of Alvin Texas just found out about the song... made me cry anyways I'm happy this has been raised to awareness I've always talked about it with my dad and with the family which was all hard for them this helped shine some light on a series of crimes that needed to be seen
Dallas Green's music is so amazing. i have been listening to Unthinkable the whole day on repeat. i love that song. i love his music. he is one of my favorite people. his voice is so beautiful. i freaking love his music so much. i wish i could see him live and meet him.
Not only does this tell a story of a horrific tragedy, once again Dallas blows me away. If you buy this song on iTunes 100% is donated to the ywca in Canada. You're a great man Dallas! Im glad you saved this for this anniversary.
The Best feeling was when I was in South Africa waking up in the car at night heading back to the airport waking up in the car hearing this song that was literally the best feeling waking up in the car at night listening to this song I literally got the chills listening to this song
I can tell you it has a weird pattern, but dallas still makes it completely to the point where it gives you chills. I really love the tone of the song and I find it interesting in new things he writes.
Reminded me of British Columbias highway of tears where tons of local women have vanished and never been found, & if found unfortunately dead. Beautiful.
At his last Montréal show, he told us that he wrote this song after he watched a movie about a true story in Texas where girls were abducted and killed on a highway..He did some researched and wrote a song about it. So yeah, it sounds kinda different than what we are used to, but it's for a great cause.
For the record... I love this “band” and this song is beautiful... HOWEVER, I live in this part of Texas, and there is no desert for hundreds of miles. that’s West Texas. Bayou, yes; desert, no. But it sounds great in the song regardless
Não ha como mensura a beleza desta canção em palavras estou indo para Tocantins sai de Curitiba não consigo parar de escutar esta canção as vezes uma bela canção uma reta uma noite estrelada como esta é a melhor terapia
Have written down the lyrics, here it is. My mother tongue isn't English, so it might be some mistakes. I have marked some words whith asterisk (*) that I can barely hear and have some troubles identifying them. Hope somebody will help with that. Down in nowhere, Texas Along the highway 45' there is ghostly streach of road where it's hard to stay alive South, towards Galveston young girl stay disappear where the desert sands turns into the wastland air is thick with the scent of fear Hunting in the killing fields small town country boys do their worst no one knows how far it goes it seems that the bayou has become a world of hurt Collete's* body was discovered in November of 1971 Then one after another victims were found beneath the desert sun Still no convictions handed down for these violent crimes will this highway's history remain a mystery or will the truth unravel over time? very well done! where are you from? a few corrections: "down in* nowhere, Texas" "there's* a* ghostly stretch of* road" "young*" not youg "turn* into the* wasteland*" "handed down for these* violent crimes" "will the truth unravel*"
As much as I love this and all of Dallas Greens work...this one kinda confuses me....why wouldn't he write about the "high way of tears!" In Canada it's similar situation when he is after all Canadian!!! Lol either way I'm sure he had his reasons .... love it either way!
That's weird... sounds pretty much like 4/4, standard rhythm to me. Every chord change happens on 4 beats even though the lyric cadences vary pretty wildly
That's part of what makes it so good to me - it's so hard to figure out how to play, nevermind sing on top of it. Take Care is like this as well. Dallas is the goat.
If I had to pick one singer I would listen to for the rest of my life it would be Dallas green for sure👌🏻🙈❤️

The guitar notes in this always give me chills.

I live in the area this song talks about. It's so weird hearing places I know of in a song by my favorite singer. (:
Truly Beautiful! Almost ten years Dallas and his music has calmed my anxious mind. No words can really describe the beauty in his music.
Excellent songwriting, in my humble opinioin
I'm in love the the chord change after 'small town country boys do there worst'

Amazing as always, can't stop listening to it! :)
I got chills listening to this song, Dallas Green you're a true artist.
Some of his finest guitar playing
Goosebumps......EVERY single time! An angel flies in the room every time Dallas sings!

Would love to have a purchasable version of this song somewhere to add to my collection bone of my all time favorites. It’s so haunting and beautiful.
I can tell you it has a weird pattern, but dallas still makes it completely to the point where it gives you chills. I really love the tone of the song and I find it interesting in new things he writes.
your music helps me, please stay yourself and may everything goes by your side Dallas.
Dallas is amazing ! His voice gives me the chills.
I stay right down the road from where this happened. Song gives me the chills. #respect
Reminded me of British Columbias highway of tears where tons of local women have vanished and never been found, & if found unfortunately dead. Beautiful.
Kush Baby I agree! Strange why he wouldn't sing about the highway of tears giving he's Canadian! Lol l
This was such an amazing song! I can relate so much, keep on doing your thing man, true talent!!
A ghostly stretch of road where its hard to stay alive...
His voice is just so... beautiful. Just beautiful.

God damn..... This is why music was created
Bone chilling.

Sounds like a perfect theme for a detective series like True Detective.
Just watched the movie after listening to the song, If you've never seen it; it's worth a watch!
Song gave me chills. It's beautiful
wow, what a song, please listen to it carefully, so good...
Beautiful as usual ♡♥
So amazing,but so sad song
So much meaning and talent
Sounds just like all other C&C songs, but you just can't say no to Dallas Green's vocals.
Amazing as always
absolutely beautiful, just like all of his other songs.
For the record... I love this “band” and this song is beautiful... HOWEVER, I live in this part of Texas, and there is no desert for hundreds of miles. that’s West Texas. Bayou, yes; desert, no. But it sounds great in the song regardless
I've been waiting for something like this. Nice.
Amazing song

I'm from Oklahoma, so of course this was hard to listen to... But it's Dallas Green, simply amazing of course!
I'm from oklahoma, too, man! :)
I love you Dallas
Wish I could sing like him. Geez.
made me mourn
why was this removed from spotify?
Sounds like one of his early songs.
when is this going to be on vinyl
I lived in Dallas, Texas in Garland. I miss Texas so much.
Someone get on making a tab for this please!
It's a different sound from dallas, but i like the song a lot.
Have written down the lyrics, here it is. My mother tongue isn't English, so it might be some mistakes. I have marked some words whith asterisk (*) that I can barely hear and have some troubles identifying them. Hope somebody will help with that.
Down in nowhere, Texas
Along the highway 45'
there is ghostly streach of road
where it's hard to stay alive
South, towards Galveston
young girl stay disappear
where the desert sands
turns into the wastland
air is thick with the scent of fear
Hunting in the killing fields
small town country boys
do their worst
no one knows how far it goes
it seems that the bayou has become a world of hurt
Collete's* body was discovered
in November of 1971
Then one after another
victims were found beneath the desert sun
Still no convictions
handed down for these violent crimes
will this highway's history
remain a mystery
or will the truth unravel over time?
Hunting in the killing fields
small town country boys
do their worst
no one knows how far it goes
it seems that the bayou has become a world of hurt
And the devil was there
And the devil was there
And the devil was there
And the devil was there
it seems that the bayou has become a world of hurt
the rest is spot on champ!
Air is thick with the scent of fear*
Will the truth unravel over time, I think.
very well done! where are you from?
a few corrections:
"down in* nowhere, Texas"
"there's* a* ghostly stretch of* road"
"young*" not youg
"turn* into the* wasteland*"
"handed down for these* violent crimes"
"will the truth unravel*"
setiwoh I'm from Ukraine. Thank you for correcting my corrections)
freaking dallas
I love love love youuuu
My bf talks about the killing fields, the oil feilds. Very sad.
I think this song would have paired nicely with the opening credits of true detective...just swap Texas for Louisiana : D
Play this song here , in chile please 🙏
Great song, anyone know the tuning?
sounds like drop C to me but I may well be some other C variation
there's no one like you, dallas
As much as I love this and all of Dallas Greens work...this one kinda confuses me....why wouldn't he write about the "high way of tears!" In Canada it's similar situation when he is after all Canadian!!! Lol either way I'm sure he had his reasons .... love it either way!
Venham ao Brasil
it's a sad song
It's awesome because it's Dallas, but something about this song just sounded off.
I know what you mean...lyrics sound out of time and a bit rushed...unusual for Dallas.
I agree with you. Weird...
I think it's supposed to be arrhythmic.
CopperGaut it definitely sounds like it.
That's weird... sounds pretty much like 4/4, standard rhythm to me. Every chord change happens on 4 beats even though the lyric cadences vary pretty wildly
I struggle to find the rhythm in this.
Would people like me to drum along to show the rhythm? I get how it's awkward but I'm pretty sure I feel it.
Easton Doran Cool story bro. You have ears.
Yeah it is tough to jive to, 4/4 time with his up strums on the "and" of 2 and 3.
Actually pretty popular in a lot of his tunes
weird rythm
That's part of what makes it so good to me - it's so hard to figure out how to play, nevermind sing on top of it. Take Care is like this as well. Dallas is the goat.
