    Confused, global 5000. 5500. 6000. 7000. 7500. 8000. What the he'll is the difference between each I know 5000 to 6000 are all about the same size! The 7000 to 8000 are bigger but the 8000 will have longer range but smaller aircraft than the 7500?

    • @andrewsmactips
      @andrewsmactips 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Could be wrong, but I think the numbers represent the range in nautical miles.

    • @tempestmkiv
      @tempestmkiv 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The numbers represent (very roughly) the aircraft range and the 5500 and 6500 are the newer updated versions of the 5000 and 6000. The 7500 started out life as the 7000 but they changed the name after delays in development to match the 5500/6500 series.

      Basically as Bob said. Just to add one thing, the Global 8000 was never develped or built, so it does not exist.

      @@rcairflrOne of the reason there are so many Global variants is that Bombardier typically only modifies the wings or fuselage length, thus avoiding having to get certification for a whole new aircraft. The Global 8000 test-bed, a 7500 with new redesigns to its trailing portion of its wings, has been flying since 2021 And breaking the sound barrier since May of that year. Because it is essentially the same aircraft 7500 owners will even be able to retrofit the wing adaptations on to their own aircraft. However, I would imagine the new wider interior (all in the same fuselage) will not be offered as a retrofit.

    Why still a central yoke? Why not a side stick?

    Great video. Its a good start. Would like to see different client configurations. The beige and white colors are pretty bland tbh.
    Impressive list of clients, a good testament of the evolution of the aircraft. Ownership costs compared to others? Engine TBO? Assembly line & sub assy videos would be nice.

    • @criaan

      Lots of defence forces around the world use private jets. VIP transport, and roles like communications platforms.

      In the Military, the Global is not used as a Business jet, it is used as the platform for the Battlefield Airborne Communications Node (BACN).
