I'm so grateful to Printer Potty. I just had the new pads for my Epson printer installed. I ordered the replacement ink pads and reset key and it was quite easy to do with a little help from a friend (I'm in my 80s). Now I'm up and running again and am happy about all the money I saved on either on an Epson service or a new printer. Thank you Printer Potty for your clear instructions!
Brilliant! Just a note to say that my L355 (a very early one) only has a single screw and no clip-off cover: the screw fastens directly into the end of the waste pod. Oh, the old pads were *sooo* juicy!! 😁 It doesn't get a lot of use, and the CMY colours are still on their original bottle charges from when I bought it new; I've refilled the black once. However, it's requested pad changes twice in that time-I did a count reset without a change the first time. 🥴
Yikes! You we’re lucky you didn’t get erm, “baptised” ?! with that double ink load then.. There’s a separate video pending for the L355 soon as it’s a little different as you found but good to hear you were able to figure it out from this..
Thank you for your video. I have unclogged the ink tubes, replaced the wastage pads but the printouts and photocopies are blank. Please refer me to relevant videos. Thank you
Hi Judy, If the ink tubes needed to be unclogged it's likely the printhead and ink feed tubes are themselves clogged up too. I'd look for videos that show you how to clear out the internal ink feed system (like this: th-cam.com/video/WhNYwfWf-oI/w-d-xo.html) and others that help with clearing out the printhead itself (lots of those around). I may end up doing a video on the subject at some point but it's multiple months away at present. Hope that's of some help.
Hi this is really handy. I'm just about to order the replaement part from your website - will I need the reset key in addition to the part? or is there another way of setting up on the printer if I just change the part? CHeers, Robbie
You will need the reset key so best to get pad+key bundle as most economical option. Unfortunately the pad replacement doesn’t trigger a sensor or similar or it’d be so much simpler.
Hello, my ET2600 initially starts to load paper but it skews to one side and goes no further. Could it be a problem with the roller(s) and if so do you have a video on how to replace or clean them please? Thanks.
More likely to be a paper fragment or some similar bit of material that catches or blocks the side that holds the paper back. Strong light and careful observation usually locates it.
Best way to check if it's a waste ink error is to use the WICReset app to "read waste counters". Doesn't cost anything to do this but will confirm if the waste ink is an issue. Search this channel for the keyword "WICReset" for videos on how to download and use the app (you don't need a key to read the counter).
I know this is a very old video but just hoping you still might be able to help! I've just replaced the ink pads as you have in this video but when I turn the printer on it says "The ink pad needs service, contact Epson" wirh error code E-11 is there any way to get rid of this!!
We’re still very much active and supporting these printers and kits so happy to answer. The error is due to the waste ink counter in the printer. This is handled separately in some of our other videos which you can find if you search for keyword “WICReset” on this channel.
I have just changed the pads as per your great instructions but the printer still says " ink pad needs service" and it is locking me out of any printer functions. Do I need to do anything to reset it? Michele
@@octoinkjet From which country is the WICReset app? I read that they encrypt one of their files that normally doesn't get encrypted unless it's hiding malware.
The developers are based in Ukraine. We're aware that there has been plenty of scuttlebutt about the potential for malware, etc... and there are, without doubt been similar apps that have been released with malware installed within. Worth noting that we have had direct communication with the developers for quite a few years now so we can safely discount such rumours for ours and the 2manuals versions of the app. But at the same times we practice "trust but verify" which is why we test our version against tools like virustotal and follow up on any warnings to determine whether false positives, etc... To date, all have been exactly that, false positives based on heuristic detection routines.
I just changed my waste ink pad and still getting message "needs service". Epson tells me I need a tech to do it??? Is there a reset button or something to do, so I don't need to find a tech and extra expense to get this going? Thanks.
That's expected as the process of replacing the pads doesn't actually clear the waste ink error (The printers doesn't sense when the pads are changed). Instead you have to reset the waste ink counter using a software tool like WICReset and this will clear the error. You can find our playlist for the various operating system instructions here: th-cam.com/play/PLfYhJgWvstULaWUXhdSrS8zTJObosmsvQ.html
I replaced the ink pad, cleaned the printer but when started up again screen message says error code E11 The ink Pad needs service contact Epson, is there any way I can reset printer to start working???
Changing the pads on their own won't clear the error. You need to reset the waste ink counter using a suitable app like WICReset. There's videos on this channel that cover it for various operating systems. You can purchase the "key" that you'll need via this link: www.octoink.co.uk/keys
No, there's no detection sensor or similar in printers like the ET-2600 so you do need to reset the waste ink counter. If you're having problems using the WICReset utility/app, then please contact support for help. The more information you can provide about your computer and operating system the easier it'll be to help further.
Okay... can you email us directly via support@octoink.co.uk with the exact error you're getting and any other information you can provide, and I should be able to help more directly.
I have cleaned my ink pads put them back into my printer et 2650 but because I print everything from my phone and my printer keeps saying ink pads needs service how do I reset my counter please help me
You still need to reset the waste ink counter. Check our videos for WICReset on this channel on how to do that. The key you need can be purchased here: Https://www.octoink.co.uk/keys
Assuming the error is waste ink related you do still have to reset the waste ink counter. Our videos about the WICReset app help with that. Please contact us via support@octoink.co.uk for more help with this.

That’s very kind of you. Thanks for sharing your experience..
This was just as easy to do at home as your video shows. Thanks for saving me $110 and a 2 hour drive to the nearest authorized Epson service center!
That was pretty much the plan so we're glad it helped.
Thank you for this clear and easy to follow tutorial! I was able to easily replace the waste ink pads myself.
Danke, funktioniert auch bei Epson ET-2550😀👍. Ohne das Video hätte ich den Wechsel nicht hinbekommen.
Thank you; it was very easy to pull the old waste pads out of my ET2650 and replace them with the new LX1 pad kit. Now off to reset the counter...
Thanks, bro for making my life easier. I can do it myself.

Really easy to replace the pads in my L355 with the LX1 pad kit. Counter reset app really simple.
Great product!
Phantastic, thank you very much! Very well explained!

Greate explanation & good light condition. Thy!
I did get a lot of feedback about lighting from a photographer friends of ours so I'm glad that advice resulted in better quality video..
thx for this, perfectly done manual
Perfect solved my problem. Thanks
Glad it helped
Thanks so much! Helped a lot! (My cat pissed on the printer)
Lost a router to one of our cats using it as a heated bed so I feel your pain. Glad it helped.

Yes. The waste ink counter still needs to be reset using the WICReset app with a key/credit. There’s videos explaining that on this channel too.

what do you call the other pad inside the printer, below the printerhead, square size with a hole in the middle
Assuming you mean the area that the printhead rests on when cleaning or not in use, that’s the “capping station”
Merci beaucoup pour ce très bon tuto
Absolutely brilliant!😊
Will the printer automatically detect that there are new pads? I got the end of life warning and a reset download that did not work.
