    I bought the Z900 RS in 2019 and now has 39,000 km. I'm still happy with this machine. I would buy it again!

    I had a 1977 KZ-1000 LTD and I'd like to have a contemporary bike that is as much like my old one as possible.

    Hey,
    Love this bike and this review. I'm very tempted to buy this bike but I have some reservations about it. Hoping you have a few minutes to help.
    I'm a returning biker, of sorts. I grew up around bikes as my dad had them, my buddies in my teens and early twenties had them, I had a moped and rode it for about 7 years.
    I'm now in my early 50s and I want to get a real bike. I got my license a few years ago.
    I realize a smaller learner bike isn't totally necessary for me as I have some experience. I'm also not so sure about a midweight as I don't want to get bored too quickly. I'm looking for a bike that I can re-acquaint myself with riding, get used to pretty quickly, and grow with. A 'one and done' bike.
    My question to you is: would this bike fit this category?

    • @OrwellMotorcyclesLtdIpswich
      @OrwellMotorcyclesLtdIpswich  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John, yes the Z900RS would certainly meet your needs, or if you want something a bit smaller, there is the Z650RS. Where are you based? You can always pop in to our showroom to speak to the team: orwell.co.uk/contact/find-us

    Seat height?

  • @russellparratt9859
    @russellparratt9859 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I love the front half of the bike, but hate the height of the seat, and the way it sticks up in the air.
    I had an original Z900 years ago, and the seat was far more practical, good for two people if you wanted, and also good for strapping some luggage onto.

    • @elevationmoto6208
      @elevationmoto6208 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a 2021 z900rs. Installed tail tidy, chrome passenger hoop, and stepped Corbin seat. Now the rear half of the bike looks fantastic!

    • @russellparratt9859
      @russellparratt9859 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@elevationmoto6208 I'll just have to believe you, without a photo to verify this. 🙂
      Another issue I have with the Z900RS is the height of the seat overall.
      If one is on the tall side, it's not a problem, but this model, and quite a few other modern bikes, really give shorter riders few options.

    • @elevationmoto6208
      @elevationmoto6208 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@russellparratt9859 Of course! Another thing... that stepped Corbin seat is slightly lower than the factory seat. I'm 5'8" and have to stop on very rough roads, my left foot sometimes touching down on a low spot. So the slightly lower seat aids stability in that circumstance. I've been putting $$$ into my z900rs, making it perfect for me. It's a great bike!

    • @russellparratt9859
      @russellparratt9859 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@elevationmoto6208 I would certainly consider this bike a great choice to own.
      It's a pity you have to spend that money customizing it, just to get a workable seat arrangement. I had a Z900, but not for a real long time. My main bike was a Z750E, which had a 790cm seat height. It was perfect, although the extra power of a 900 is a very desirable thing to have, especially with a pillion.
      I'm not in the market for a bike these days, although I take an interest in it all.
      I'd probably go for a Triumph T120, if I needed to make that choice.
      Both my Kawasakis had small fairings, which make long distance travel much more pleasurable. Are you considering that option?

    • @elevationmoto6208
      @elevationmoto6208 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@russellparratt9859 Got the Corbin seat because the original Kawasaki seat developed a Crack, perhaps from sunlight. So I bought an expensive custom leather Corbin as a replacement. That $700 seat is very handsome and comfortable, so no regrets at all. The oem seat height and comfort was fine. The lower seat makes the bike feel a little less sporty and a little more cruiser oriented. Neither better or worse, just slightly different. I do have a clear Power Bronze windscreen that I like. It's the tall one.

    Worst bike I've ever owned and ridden. The clutch is horrible the gearbox clunky the back brake is there one. However motor awesome handling awesome looks awesome but i would not recommend this bike as a owner of a 2022 z900rs can't wait for someone to buy it of me

    • @MrMoto948
      @MrMoto948 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rear brake needs a bleed. The clutch is a bit vague thats why I put 10% stiffer barnett springs in, now it has feel. The rear shock is ok but lacks finesse. It is not a $25k sports bike. I have turned it into one though. Pirelli super corsa SPs, Ohlins frony nix30, Nitron rear R3, yoshi rearsets, translogic quick shifter..... couldn't be happier.

    I am thinking a lot about this bike, I avoided these kind of bikes because I use what ive got. THAT means ill either crash and die or lose my license and have by bike impounded for excessive speed, Now that I got that out, I better not get one of these.
