We hiked the Meat Cove mountain and overlook trails on October 19th! We discovered your channel and have been enjoying your videos since a little bit after that, how funny we came so close to possibly running into yous!
I love that analogy of "a bag of skittles" for describing the trees, it was so appropriate! And the videography of the falling leaves at the waterfall, outstanding!
Sou'west Nova here and I've been to Cape Breton many times. It is indeed Canada's jewel. I truly believe that once you visit, you leave a piece of your heart there and whenever someone mentions "roadtrip" l'm thinking Cape Breton man. For a guy from sou'west nova it's the ultimate road trip. Super hospitable people who welcome you right into their homes and cook you some grub. I've fished up and down the coast of BC and Queen Charlotte Islands now called Haida Gwaii and to me Cape Breton is every bit as beautiful. It's been 20 years since l've been up there, l'm almost 65 and she will undoubtedly be calling to me and God willing l will answer. Wait, l think l hear her now 😁💖
I echo your sentiments. I visited there in 1985, spending only three days there and have dreamed of going back ever since. I also have been to Banff and Jasper and drove through the mountains to Vancouver but Cape Breton, as you rightly pointed out, has a big piece of my heart. I even remember the name of the inn I stayed at in Baddeck. Well... I have a wedding in two weeks in Halifax and am using the opportunity to see it all again. My dream to return has come true at long last. Bringing one of my now grown-up kids along to share the beauty with.
Thank you for your Nova Scotia Canada video. It was absolutely beautiful great views, great lakes, enjoying life. You both are excellent. Please keep putting more beautiful videos like that. C. 🤗❤️
I have been waiting for this video! We drove past you at Broad Cove campground and I was hoping you would have a video of this area coming soon. Your videos are wonderful! I used them to help plan my Alaska trip and am reliving my trip to Nova Scotia now. Thanks for great content!
Best Vlog I’ve seen on Cape Breton! Those bears were such a sight! The fall foliage eye-candy puts the cherry on top of anything! Amazing job on the videography! Stunning scenery!!❤
Hello again from Michigan! I know you were disappointed at the views, but the scene at 6:44 sold me on coming to Cape Breton in the fall. That was an REI catalog-worthy image! It's been a while since I last commented, but I did finish 50 states, getting to Oregon back on July 24. My three favorite hikes in the PNW: Maple Pass (WA), Sawtooth Lake (ID), and McNeil Point in the Mount Hood Wilderness (obviousy, OR). I've been studying your Newfoundland videos much like I studied chemical engineering many decades ago, taking copious notes and keeping spreadsheets. Thank you so much for all these videos and for getting into the Irish and Acadian heritage of these provinces! It's been an absolute joy to watch you go through Eastern Canada, one of my favorite places, and particularly to see you go through the parts I haven't seen yet. I subscribed to you three years ago, and even though you hadn't been there yet, I figured you would be the type to appreciate a place like Eastern Canada. I couldn't be happier with what you've done there! Great work!
The first time we did that hike, we were rewarded with zero view due to fog, lol. We've been several times since and the view is amazing. One of our favorite trails, for sure.
Hey James! That is awesome that you completed all 50! Way to go! Maple Pass and Sawtooth Lake are amazing aren't they!? We had such an awesome time in Canada this year! We're glad they can be a resource. Thanks, James!
They are amazing. So were Garnet Ghost Town, Route of the Hiawatha, Shoshone Falls, Multnomah Falls, Mount Storm King, and a bunch of other things I experienced because I learned about them from you! You never steer me wrong.
I love Cape Breton Island especially the Cabot trail. Been there twice and will definitely come back for more 😊 your video captures the beauty of the island. Thank you for bringing me along one more time.
so injoyed your secnic tour of Cape Breton highlands, thank you once again. that seafood chowder looked so yummy. Safe travels, until the next time. Thank you.....
As a Canadian who has gone coast to coast I say to myself after each video you post that you have reached the pinnacle...and then you outdo yourselves. Spectacular treatment of Cape Breton. I agree on the reviews not matching the experience. My jam is far north BC, Yukon and Northwest Territories. People like to exaggerate the ruggedness it seems. Truth is you could do most of it in a Toyota Corolla.
Beautiful Cape Breton. As a Newfoundlander I visit NS as much as I can. Usually stay at the Lynwood in Cape Breton, use that as our central point and travel out from there. Nice people, gorgeous province. Friendly people. I reminds me of NL but just better taken care of.
Following you 2 thru Newfoundland and Cape Breton has been so much fun. My wife and I just toured all of NL and Cape Breton over a 3 week period. We don't do the trails you do (bad knees & old age prevents - we're in our 70s) BUT we did just that thru you two crazy cute and adorable kids via your vids. We just LOVE the 2 of you. HUGS xoxo
Im a proud Nova Scotia boy. I believe everyone deserves dignity and respect. Im almost 43 years old. My grandfather, father and uncles rebuilt and repaved the cabot trail in the 80s andearly 90s. I spent alot of time as a young fella in Cape Breton on weekends. We live near truro and Dad worked through the week paving as a foreman. When he was working in the most Beautiful place on earth, instead of him driving home, we drove to him. I am a lucky person and i will never forget those memories. The stories that i grew up hearing about building a road over Cape Smokey are family legands and secrets. If you ever get there you will know what i mean lol. Great video!!! Nova Scotia deserves it
Great video! I'm a Cape Bretoner and love to see people come and enjoy our beautiful island! I spent many summers working up in the highlands guarding that rocky beach... beleave it or not but some summers it's all sand 😅. My wife and I also love long roadtips and are taking a 40+ day roadtrip in June across the northern states to British Columbia, where we plan on living for the next few years! Been watching many of your videos to help plan stops for our trip! Keep up the great travels!
Another banger as the kids would say. The scenery 😍 the fall colors, Kona chomping on leaves. So much goodness in this vlog. The beret, mustache and neckerchief bit made me lol. And the bonus footage leap frog and ambulance 🚑. Another great vlog guys.
My wife and I went to cape Breton for our honeymoon 5 years ago and did a trip similar to yours. We stayed on top of the Perry winkle cafe in ingonish at a air bnb. As well as that blue building you can see in the background along the board walk in cheticamp. Such a beautiful place with some of the nicest/genuine people you’ll ever meet. Great video!
WOW...Great video! ...and thanks for showing your well-behaved canine on some of the trails with you! And, another thanks for including the date of your trip there as a reference. We toured the Cabot trail years ago while living full-time in our motorhome for 2 adventurous years. It was long before drones were invented and GPS devices available...just maps and a compass. Keep up the great videos...😀😀😀
Another beautiful, yummy and entertaining video! You two are so fun and talented! The jumps at the end made me laugh as did how Cheticamp sounded when I first heard it! 😂
It looks like the Fall is a way better time the Spring. I toured Newfoundland the 2 weeks before May 24 a few years ago. Nothing touristy was open yet. There was feet of snow still in the north and it snowed one day in the middle of country. Still saw some great things. I did get a nice personal tour of L'anse aux Meadows by chatting with all the people busy getting ready to officially open it the next week. (that was in the north where the snow just off the road and off the trail to the actual site was as tall as me)
I always love your videos. We were there in 2019, and we were so glad we had decided to take this holiday before covid came down from a spaceship and shut down the world. The memories of our trip to New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia sustained us over the two lockdown years. Lovely to see this gorgeous video now and to relive this great place through the lens of your camera and thanks to the hard work you put in this and your other videos.❤
A beautiful video that took me back to the time I visited. We also drove in the fall and visited many of the same places. I really enjoyed the Ceilidh in Baddeck. The fall colors are spectacular.
I just got back from a trip from Heihe to Mohe along the Helongiang river in the northernmost part of China. While watching your video I was struck by how similar the terrain and fall colors were, thought I was there the last week of September and the beginning of October. Fresh air, fall colors, good food and friendly people seem to just go together. Always fun to watch the two of you as you enjoy your trips, I have spent many a pleasant hour watching your explorations. Thanks again for sharing
Hi--I watched a couple of your other videos which were really good . My wife and I did a week on the mainland and a week on Cape Breton and I really loved your re-action about Meat Cove---- to us our thoughts of Meat Cove that it was just so magical. There is a small pull off half way to Meat Cove along the gravel road with a small trail leading to a rocky beach, we climbed down and just stood there watching the fog roll in along the cliffs and shore making it look like a scene from one of the Lord of the Ring sequels. Really enjoyed everything during your film.
Awesome drone shots of those water falls at the end!! Also, my GF and I are grown-ass adults, but every time we heard Adam pronouce "Cheticamp" we thought it sounded like something else and we couldn't help laughing...
Wow wow wow!!! 🤩 Awesome vlog in every way you guys! This is my favorite time of the year and the colors up there are amazing!!! It definitely has some Acadia National Park vibes like you mentioned. Seeing those bears made me so happy!!! I absolutely LOVE bears! This vlog had it all, fall colors, coastal views, wildlife, and amazing food! You are THE absolute best!!!
Great job guys. As someone that lives on the Cabot Trail 6 months of the year, you did a great job capturing it. You also hit a couple of my favourite coffee and treat spots. Glad you found them. I live in Halifax, so I am looking forward to your video of the City too.
Another beautiful video! We stayed in Baddeck Cape Breton a few years back and drove the Cabot Trail, and as a Canadian, it was definitely one of the highlights of our eastern coast trip. Thanks!
Wow. I planned to take a trip to Atlantic Canada in 2024 but plans got changed and we're going to Yellowstone. But oh my goodness, you guys are reigniting my fire to travel to Canada. It's official, I'm taking my family in 2025. Thank you so much for your videos. Every single one of them are so inspiring!
I’ve loved following your adventures throughout Canada’s Atlantic provinces. I’ve travelled along the Cabot Trail many times, both clockwise and counterclockwise. My experience was a little different from yours as I made these trips in a 2 seat Mazda Miata convertible with a tent, rather than a fully kitted out Sprinter Van! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip and keep up the great work!
Hello Adventurers 😎😊, You have made it to Cabot Trail yeahhhh. And, your eating my ice cream! I love the goats😊😊. There is very similar coastline between Cabot and Acadia. I can't wait to see what's next 😎😎.
Always good videos. I have a general editing question though. How do you or what program do you use for those cool map intros where it draws a line on the map? Otherwise, keep up the good content!
I'm so excited for you guys for going to Celtic Colours. My husband and I hope to get there one day. The crullers are popular in my hometown of Milwaukee. We pronounce them "crawlers" and they're shaped like long Johns; other places they're found I've heard it pronounced "crew-lers." No matter how you say it, they are indeed delish (with coffee or tea in the morning).
Hey, great video! We're excited for our trip this month - quick question: where was your dog when you went to places without them? (unless they just weren't included in some footage). We're bringing along our pup and are worried about missing out on things that aren't dog friendly
Hi! This blog post covers what we do with our dog in places she can’t join us. Our situation is different than most since we have an insulated van (our home!) with AC and can leave her there if it’s not for too long. adventuresofaplusk.com/full-time-van-life-with-a-dog-tips-for-traveling-with-a-dog/ Thanks for watching and hopes that helps!
🐮 Don’t miss Skye Glen Creamery on Cape Breton Island! Gourmet Gelato, Delicious Chocolate Milk and Fabulous Cheeses are well worth the visit to Nova Scotia’s only Jersey Dairy Farm.🥛🍨🧀
Canada certainly is a massive country. from Cape Breton Island to Vancouver Island, Yukon and the Northwest Territories. due to its brutal winters in most parts of the country, Canada population is only somewhere around 35 million people.
Question: we are loving your adventures and are happy you’re making the most of your young life. I was wondering, are you always in the van or do you occasionally get a hotel so you can take long showers and do some laundry?
We are in our van 99% of the time. The only times we have gotten a hotel in the past was when we didn't have AC and it was just too hot and muggy and we just needed a break. We do our laundry at laundromats normally though Good question!
This entire series has been over the top fantastic.....I never thought I would enjoy anything more than your Alaska trip......this is right there with it.....
Great video! I was on Cape Breton Island in August with my middle son. Am always so impressed with your videos and how you hit so many points of interest that I think that I should always wait to see a video of yours on a destination before going there lol. I was about a week ahead of you guys to Tuktoyaktuk last summer(2022) and wish I'd seen your video first. This past summer, I had planned on driving from home in Saskatoon SK through Labrador and then to Newfoundland before going to Nova Scotia but changed my plans to spend more time with my son and visit more friends in Ontario. So, I skipped Labrador and NL. Your videos on Newfoundland have convinced me to make that trip next summer. All the best A&K !!
Great video of Cape Breton highlights! In Nova Scotia, so much to do we didn’t quite make it to the park on our visit this past October. Thank you for your lovely video, Now I feel like we went there! Even caught video of momma bear and 2 cubs on skyline trail what luck 🍀 they had She lucky she found a hiker guy and 🐶 to travel with Adore adventures of a+k channel Super nice people!
I never realized that Cape Breton's leaves peak inversely with latitude. My guess is some of the warmer climate trees in the south can't take the fall weather, so they change early? perhaps the trees in the north need less sun to keep producing food? oh well. thanks for covering the Cabot Trail!
I love this channel! I want to do everything that you’re doing and eat everything that you’re eating! Thank you so much for sharing your travels with us! It’s definitely giving me ideas of where I’d like to go😊🥾🌲☕️ 🌊 ⛰️ 🍁🏕️
My home❤ so happy you guys had such a fun time, it was surreal watching this video when I did most of these trails recently. It was awesome seeing them from your perspective. Slightly sad you didn’t go to A&K Lick a chick (fried chicken) since it matches your name perfectly.

Thank you and thanks for watching!
Thank you. Another entertaining video. It’s been 47 years since we drove the Cabot Trail. Guess it’s time we go again.
The view above that Gypsum Lake was incredible - perfect colors and place to hang your legs over the ledge!
That was a sweet spot!

Thank you! You too!

You two are having a fabulous fall!

The Cabot Trail is a beautiful place to visit . Be safe on The Highland Trail .

haha thank you! We had fun with the French stuff!

Yes there are definitely better times of the year than others. We think we hit it right at the last moment before things started to shut down!
Wow, the "goat" theme in this episode was funny!!!
Wow! What a fantastic video! The fall colors and incredible vistas were truly inspiring. Thanks for another great adventure!
Incredible autumn views! Great hikes.

Phew! Thank you!
We head up the trail tomorrow. Lynn and Danny
Have fun!
Great job guys. As someone that lives on the Cabot Trail 6 months of the year, you did a great job capturing it. You also hit a couple of my favourite coffee and treat spots. Glad you found them. I live in Halifax, so I am looking forward to your video of the City too.
Awesome! Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
Yeah, we went on a mid Oct campout and the sun was hidden most of the time, but the yellow leaves kept it bright. Thanks for your always cool videos!
Ingonish beach used to be nothing but sand. The power of nature is truly and spectacularly AWESOME!!
Very cool!
Another beautiful video! We stayed in Baddeck Cape Breton a few years back and drove the Cabot Trail, and as a Canadian, it was definitely one of the highlights of our eastern coast trip. Thanks!
Very cool! We had a wonderful time up there!
Loved the waterfalls with the leaves!
🍂
Goats AND BEARS?! Omg paradise 🙌
Double jackpot!
Wow. I planned to take a trip to Atlantic Canada in 2024 but plans got changed and we're going to Yellowstone. But oh my goodness, you guys are reigniting my fire to travel to Canada. My experience was a little different from yours as I made these trips in a 2 seat Mazda Miata convertible with a tent, rather than a fully kitted out Sprinter Van! That's a fun way to do it! We had a wonderful time. Thank you and thanks for watching!
Great Video guys as always some good looking food too Thanks for sharing
Butternut squash a popular fall soup in Canada, usually with a hint of apple and maple syrup. 😋
Welcome back to Canada! I’m watching from Victoria BC.
I wish you two would try to have a little fun 🤓Love to hear you laugh!
Hello Adventurers 😎😊, You have made it to Cabot Trail yeahhhh. And, your eating my ice cream! I love the goats😊😊. There is very similar coastline between Cabot and Acadia. I can't wait to see what's next 😎😎.
Hey, A &K hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving 👍👍!
Cape Breton so beautiful n the food amazing
Love the pumpkin spice diet !
I want that lobster chowder!
The weather wasn’t cooperating but you still manage to make another stunner. Awesome video as always.
Always good videos. I have a general editing question though. How do you or what program do you use for those cool map intros where it draws a line on the map? Otherwise, keep up the good content!
Hey thanks! I create those in Adobe After Effects with a screenshot from a site called Snazzy Maps.
no way I found my 7th grade teacher/soccer coach on my recommended after 6 years, that’s crazy
Yooo! Who is this?
I'm so excited for you guys for going to Celtic Colours. My husband and I hope to get there one day.
The crullers are popular in my hometown of Milwaukee. We pronounce them "crawlers" and they're shaped like long Johns; other places they're found I've heard it pronounced "crew-lers." No matter how you say it, they are indeed delish (with coffee or tea in the morning).
The music was a huge highlight for us!
We'll have to check them out when we get to Milwaukee one day! They are definitely super delicious!
Looks like a wonderful place to visit.
It was a ton of fun!

Thanks for watching and hopes that helps!
I love you guys ❤
Great Videos I love the channel. If you hike the skyline trail for sunset is it not dark when you hike back?
Thanks! It's definitely dark. We hiked back in the dark. You'll need to take a headlamp
Just turned my mom on to y'all. Fat Bear season is over so I think y'all are going to be her new Bears
Thank you!
🐮 Don’t miss Skye Glen Creamery on Cape Breton Island! Gourmet Gelato, Delicious Chocolate Milk and Fabulous Cheeses are well worth the visit to Nova Scotia’s only Jersey Dairy Farm.🥛🍨🧀
We'll have to check them out next time! Thanks for the tips!
Canada certainly is a massive country. from Cape Breton Island to Vancouver Island, Yukon and the Northwest Territories. due to its brutal winters in most parts of the country, Canada population is only somewhere around 35 million people.
great vlogs, how is the cell service thru canada....
That bald eagle is on contract by Parks Canada to make American tourists feel at home.... Very considerate.
😂😂
Wow so stunning!! any tips on the drone locations? i know that the national park area does not allow drone...
National Parks are a definite no fly zone. We like to use the OpenSky app for flying locations. But always look into the rules of specific places!
@@AdventuresofAplusK sounds good! Thank you so much :)
We do our laundry at laundromats normally though
Good question!
Hey! Wait a minute...your going to chow down on LOBSTER ROLLS without me?
Thats not fair😭! Well alright then😎😎👍👍.
I haven't seen you gays meet your pet bear yet!? Sorry it's just that I study English. I follow you from Vietnam
No pet bears yet! haha Thank you and thanks for watching!
Come to Annapolis Valley :)
Next time you are around

Gorgeous fall colors. Drone footage just keeps getting better and better.
Loved the video! We live in Maine and are heading to the Cabot Trail this coming September with our 5th wheel. Can't wait to see it all!
Thank you Adam and Kathryn for another great video. You continue to do an amazing job of showcasing our country.
❤
Amazing video. Love you guys. Thanks for sharing your adventures
Oh that's awesome! Glad to hear you're out there adventuring! Newfoundland is a must visit if you ask us! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Great video of Cape Breton highlights!
In Nova Scotia, so much to do we didn’t quite make it to the park on our visit this past October.
Thank you for your lovely video, Now I feel like we went there!
Even caught video of momma bear and 2 cubs on skyline trail what luck 🍀 they had
She lucky she found a hiker guy and 🐶 to travel with
Adore adventures of a+k channel
Super nice people!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Those sunset shots were some of the best I've seen...! Amazing
Thank you!
Oh… Cheti, I was thinking surely they didn’t name that camp “that word” 😅
I never realized that Cape Breton's leaves peak inversely with latitude. My guess is some of the warmer climate trees in the south can't take the fall weather, so they change early? perhaps the trees in the north need less sun to keep producing food? oh well. thanks for covering the Cabot Trail!
So beautiful! I’d never even hear if this trail before! Thanks for sharing ❤
I love this channel! I want to do everything that you’re doing and eat everything that you’re eating!
Thank you so much for sharing your travels with us! It’s definitely giving me ideas of where I’d like to go😊🥾🌲☕️ 🌊 ⛰️ 🍁🏕️
Beautiful video and matching music . Thank you!
Great video. Amazing photography/Scenery. Beautiful Fall colors! Thanks guys. Bless you on your way. ❤ ❤ ❤
Thanks for another awesome video have a great day 👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍
My home❤ so happy you guys had such a fun time, it was surreal watching this video when I did most of these trails recently. It was awesome seeing them from your perspective. Slightly sad you didn’t go to A&K Lick a chick (fried chicken) since it matches your name perfectly.
Hehehe it's pronounced "Crew-Ler" not "Crul-Ler" you silly gooses :)
