I have a 06 4Runner and have 354k miles currently! I'm a huge Toyota enthusiast, and I'm also in Alabama. Keep the content coming. It looks great!

Just got mine. Beautiful up top with Shadow Mica. Updated led lights inside and out. Pioneer touch screen with Bluetooth. Magna Flow exhaust. It's stunning. I live in Georgia and from ground level it appears to be undercoated.... After I purchased my mechanic showed me underneath while on a lift.... I'm stuck with some rust. First ever 4Runner and I love it besides that...

Great build. I have the JBA Off-road upper control arms on my 16 4Runner as well. FYI, JBA recommends lubing the UCA’s every 5000 miles. The bushings and ball joints. Just be careful on what grease you lube them with. Their website says what grease they recommend.

You need to put in a manual shift transfer case from a fj cruiser. I did mine and love it, no more electric solenoid to worry about going out( which mine did). But it looks great

I thought I threw a clip in at the end, it sounds great, maybe a little too heavy when throttling.

Great 4Runner. Can you share any more about your headlights and where you got them? I have an 04 4Runner as well and was looking for options. Thanks!

Was there any reason for the engine rebuild? I just picked up an 07 sr5 with almost 200k. Wondering if I should do the same but it’s running great.

I was wondering the same thing I have heard nothing but good stuff about the V6 in these 4Runners. The V8 being legendary for hitting a million miles. I don’t see a reason to have to rebuild an engine with no indication that there could be a problem. Solid engine but it is still a high mileage vehicle so I’d still keep some money set aside as a oops fund before you start spending on modifications.

My mechanic discovered metal in the oil pan after I dropped it off with him for inspection after I purchased it. My plan is to give this to my son whenever he turns 16 so I wanted to make it as solid and reliable as possible. Engine rebuild & new transmission ran me about $15,000 but worth it for the peace of mind.

My 4 runner has 250k hard miles on it and it’s still ticking. Like he said I wouldn’t worry unless you have visible issues. You can send your oil off for testing and get an idea of what’s going on inside but I wouldn’t worry. If you have the money to spend on a engine rebuild then just build it when it goes out lol no sweat

I was considering getting a set of 33" tires, but I am wondering if I go to a 34, or 35" would that put a lot of wear or break any parts? Not sure if its worth the risk. You have the 34s. Thoughts?

255/85 R17 - 35s (but having issues finding rims to fit)

Lots of factors to consider here, if you have aftermarket, upgrades suspension components then you'll most likely be okay. You'll just notice that it'll become a little more sluggish than before, fix to that is re-gearing. I originally had 35's but stepped down a size because of the look and I didn't want to chop anymore than I already had.
