Thanks for the information! Also, that pallet buster is awesome, I just bought one locally where I live and has made the process of dismantling pallets much easier with more usable wood.

Very informative and the advice to just avoid the MB treated wood is good. Way too many alternatives to take the risk. Thanks!

As I understand it, a number of pallets labeled HT are also treated with MB. The stamp has more to do with regulations than the process used to sterilize the pallet. I think MB pallets are a safe bet given almost every person in the US eats foods which have been gassed with methyl bromide on a daily or at least weekly basis.

    (1) Seems like a test for MB after a month would settle the question. (2) That commentor said that what the pallet carries is a bigger problem, but that seems like speculation. Do they get covered in chemicals normally? (3) Hopefully MB goes away both in pallets and in strawberries!

I agree there are so many other choices why deal or expose yourself to it

Years ago I took a pallet that was made with some ruff white oak. I ran those planks through a planner and ended with some unbelievable looking wood after using it for a project. I still get comments about it today and people are dumbfounded when I tell them it came from a pallet. 👍
