I have to shorten a throttle cable as you did. What did you use as an on the cabe, I was thinking of using alead fishing sinker. by inserting the cable through and crimping the sinker down. Good video.
but what for hard wood ? I tryed the Elmers , didn't seem to leave a clean weld ..... lol no hand throttle on this one . Need a hand for the wheel , and one for the shifter :)
Oh, hard wood. For hard wood you have to use a special welding technique called HAN (hammer and nail) welding. Predrilling may be required, but you won't need to grind at all.
mine too ! Hate the stuff ... lol We have snow , i'll give that a try . I was using oil , but that made for a big flare up when i would go back welding on it .... :)
If you need to know how to weld wood, you should of contacted me. Haaa...I cracked up at that attempt though. Sounds like something ford would of done. Woooo....probably get some comments on that!! Its a big joke round my area because we have huge ford plants. I like to drive by and count all the chevy's in the employee parking lot. Looking great!
lol , well thank you . Not sure it's the best out there . but i'm trying. I have been in contact with stovebolt via e mails . But have not heard from him as of late .
no , that I didn't . They were out of them at the home depot when i went in . I asked the kid where the Elmers welding rods were .... blank stare..... Then i asked where the Elmers glue was ... blank stare ..... Then i asked whats the latest thing kids now days are huffing , pointed to the glue section ........ were all in trouble if thats the next gen !! lol .
LOL...ROFLOL All you need for that wood is some two part epoxy and lots of bondo...er, I mean "high performance wood putty"... The metal will be stronger in the long run for sure.
love it when friends stop by, great job on the wood welding, im going to have to learn that myself. cheers
I agree . Always fun hanging out with friends on a friday night .
Go slow , and have some water standing by :)

I can recommend Elmer's flux for soft woods.
Gas pedal??? I thought you were going to use a hand throttle (one on the tree).
but what for hard wood ?

When i get around wood my thumb's seem to get bigger. And the trick with welding wood is you have to use the snow to flash cool it.
