This type of boat is not generally a first time boat purchase but for a boater with experience. If this video is to inform a prospective buyer, more information is required in the video before a buyer commits to a boat yard inspection. A good video is structured, informative and entertaining. Good test with a 17" Elantra prop on both a Vagabond & Victory......Were both boats fully fuelled or just partially fuelled...... The Vagabond with the three blade 17" Elantra prop at 6000rpm marries up with the factory spec for 6000rpm max so it looks like 81kph is top speed for that prop & motor combination....In the case of the Victory with the three blade 17" Elantra at 5890 rpm with a speed of 76kph it also marries up with the factory spec for 5850 rpm max...So if one wants a speed of over 80 kph from a Victory one would need to go to a 225 hp with maybe a 3 blade Elantra 18" pitch prop...Or maybe a four blade Revolution 17"or 16" might be the goods for the 225hp on the 6mt Victory...
To many Revs! Should be spinning 19inch and Jack plate! V6 peak HP is between 5000-5400rpm after this fuel rate has been tapered off! Revving it higher isn’t doing any favours for these engine model ratings If you want more performance and a engine that keep pouring in the fuel up higher in the revs you need the XP range of engines which will pour the fuel rate in upto 6200rpm! Mercury have been the leaders in performance and if that’s what your chasing especially top end speed you must buy the correct version of engines which are Mercury XP range 💯👍🏼
having the motor hit the top end of its rpm range is actually ideal... not having the motor labouring will actually prolong the life of the motor. The motor isnt working hard.
