    Thanks for the detailed info on the campsites. One thing please mention if there are power points available or not. That is essencial for me.
    Well done.

      Hi Francois, thanks for your comment! I appreciate you pointing out the missing information about power points. For this video, I wanted to keep each campsite review concise at around 1 minute, so I focused on general highlights. The good news is, I have full video reviews for all 15 campsites in this video description! Each full review covers all the details, including information about power points. If you're having trouble finding them, please let me know ;)

    No Thank you, I go camping to get away from other people. The more remote the better, no power and water are prerequisite for me.

    • @VerticalHorizonSA
      @VerticalHorizonSA  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I totally get where you're coming from! There's something truly special about those remote, off-grid spots where you can really disconnect and enjoy nature in its purest form.
      We aim to showcase a variety of camping experiences, including those hidden gems that offer peace, solitude, and a real break from the everyday hustle. Thanks for sharing your perspective. Remote and rugged definitely have their own charm!

    Most of these camping sites are being manage by the municipalities and not privately own and developed so most are
    under developed so mabe if a tourist look for better accommodations then they must try out the Bed and Breakfast places or
    some hotels.

    • @VerticalHorizonSA
      @VerticalHorizonSA  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks for your comment! You're right that many of these campsites are managed by municipalities, which can sometimes mean fewer amenities compared to privately owned sites.
      However, for those who love the simplicity and adventure of camping, these spots can offer a unique and authentic experience. While Bed and Breakfasts or hotels are great alternatives for more comfort, our channel is focused on showcasing the best camping experiences.
      Whether it's a rustic site or a fully-equipped park, we believe there's something special about camping that just can’t be matched by other types of accommodations!

    Been in langebaan for 20 years.... enjoyed the compilation.... I always feel that these sites should be privatised... the local councils just dont "get" aesthetics.... locations are great but the barb wire fences and palisade just looks terrible....

    • @VerticalHorizonSA
      @VerticalHorizonSA  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed the compilation! Langebaan is such a special place with some incredible locations. I agree that while the spots themselves are beautiful, the aesthetics could use a bit of a boost. It’s a shame when the natural beauty is overshadowed by fencing that doesn’t quite fit the vibe. Privatization could bring a fresh perspective, but there's always the hope that with the right vision, even municipal sites can be improved. Fingers crossed for some upgrades in the future! 🤞

    Wow! What an ugly bunch of bleak, sterile-looking campsites, absolutely horrible 'architecture', prison-like fencing... who in their right mind would even think about going to any of them, apart from Tietiesbaai.

    • @VerticalHorizonSA
      @VerticalHorizonSA  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The West Coast does have a rugged and raw beauty that's not for everyone, but that's also part of its unique charm. The harsh landscapes, simple facilities, and that sense of isolation can offer a truly immersive experience in nature for those who appreciate it. Tietiesbaai is a favorite for a reason, but every site has its own appeal depending on what you're looking for in a camping adventure. Sometimes, the starkness of these sites is what makes the experience so memorable! 😄
